Dr. Shahnam Shiftehs interest in dentistry started when he was just 5 years old. He saw his grandmas dentures sitting in a cup of water next to her bed. Frightened and curious, the questions started and the interest never ended.
Fast forward to today, Dr. Shifteh has successfully practiced general and cosmetic dentistry in multiple Manhattan dental offices. He completed his undergraduate studies at SUNY Albany with a BS in Biology, and went on to attain his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from New York University College of Dentistry. Additionally, he completed a one-year residency program at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center and has continued to take on many continuing education courses from there. Dr. Shifteh has a passion for providing quality and detail-oriented dentistry. He also has exceptional clinical skills and is adept in crafting natural-looking restorations. By offering these services right here in his Pearl River dental office, he is able to save his patients valuable time and money.
When hes not at the office, he enjoys watching sports and spending quality time with his family, his wife, Andrea, his son, Soren, and friends. Dr. Shifteh also loves staying active by running and hiking with his Weimaraner, Moose, and his Shiba Inu, Madison. In his free time, he also plays basketball, tennis, and softball.

I can't recommend Pearl River Family Dentistry enough. Dr. Shifteh is great at making you feel at ease and the staff is super friendly. I am doing Invisiline now and it's going great. Highly recommend.

No wait, they brought me to room, asked pertinent questions and proceeded to take care of some cavities I had. Did so in a caring and professional way. I always had a great experience when visiting. Office is very clean and everyone is friendly and attentive. Four Stars for sure.

My 7 year old son starts school TOMORROW. I knew he was due for a dental visit but its usually such a horrific experience, and i did NOT know its actually required for school. Just to make it extra fun, i'm also 100% deaf and you'd be surprised what a simple task like calling up a new dr and scheduling an appointment could be. Then when you get most places, they treat you weird like they didnt really believe me when I told them i was deaf lol. Anyway, needless to say, these scenarios give me anxiety and Pearl River Family Dentistry could NOT have made it any easier or more pleasant. Every person in the office was wonderful and went above their jobs. From scheduling the best appointment to getting feedback on my son's exam, they were soooo unbelievably accommodating! I didnt have to calm down my son or ANYTHING. I am so happy this all happened so we foind our new, permanent dental family!

I highly recommend pearl river family dentistry. I'm a baby when it comes to the dentist however the hygienist, Michelle, immediately made me feel more relaxed. She gave me a lot of helpful Information and my cleaning was quick and painless. Dr. Shifteh also made me feel comfortable. He too gave me some helpful advice . Overall the office was clean, the staff was pleasant and my visit went well.

First visit here! Professional. Able to get 17 years of orthodontic cement off my teeth which I always thought was a stain. ( and I get cleanings done routinely). My cleaning was not rushed. Hygienist was through. Took proper protocols during covid. Definitely will recommend to others! Thank you!
