Dr. Skvorak has practiced dentistry for overthirty years. Dr. Skvorak received his bachelors degree from the University of Maine where he graduated with highest honors. He is a member of the honor societies of Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi. Dr. Skvorak attended dental school at the University of Connecticut. He is a member of the Greater Portland Dental Society, the Maine Dental Association, the American Dental Association, the World Academy of Radiosurgery, and the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Skvorak has extensive training through DOCS education to provide sedation dentistry.
Dr. Skvorak finds it especially gratifying to relieve pain, restore comfort and function, and achieve beautiful healthy smiles. Dr. Skvorak enjoys providing comfortable, relaxing dental procedures to anxious patients with oral-conscious sedation. It is fulfilling to provide anxious patients with dental treatment that they deserve and need, but would otherwise forego without the option of sedation. A willing and confident smile can change lives.
Dr. John completed his education at the University ofNew England College of Dental Medicine. He graduated among the top of his class and received the 2018 Clinical Excellence Award in recognition of his outstanding clinical skills provided at the Oral Health Center clinic. As part of Dr. Johns education at UNE, he also graduated with a certification in Dental Public Health Leadership. He is excited to provide exceptional patient-centered care at Pear Tree Dentistryand assist patients in improving not only their smile, but also their overall health.
Dr. John was born and raised in Windham, Maine, where he met his wife, Kassie. They continue to reside in Windham with their daughter Lillian, enjoying the peacefulness of nature that surrounds their home. They look forward to welcoming their second child this year.Dr. John loves to spend his weekends exploring the outdoorshiking, kayaking, fishing, and biking with Kassie. You can usually find their energetic German Shorthaired Pointer, Riser, as their adventure companion.

I love this office. No one loves to go to the dentist but this office makes it a pleasant experience! I just wish they took my insurance as in-network. We pay a lot out of pocket and that's not easy. With that said, the dental work is excellent which we appreciate.

I have been coming to Pear Tree Dentistry for a very long time. Their quality of service is bar none. The whole staff from receptionist to dentist are extremely friendly and take the time to make you feel comfortable and welcomed. I would highly recommend and I have to many people, to become a part of this office. It is a wonderful, local, family run office!

Love Pear Tree Dentistry! The staff is so friendly, the office is very clean, and they are always on schedule. Dr. John and the hygienist never make me feel rushed and are happy to listen to my questions and concerns. Their work is also great, I needed a Dental Crown and they did a fantastic job, I've had no issues. Highly recommend if you need a dentist.

Had my first visit here today, everyone there was fantastic and very welcoming! The hygienist was very thorough and made sure I was comfortable the whole time and the dentist was extremely helpful with coming up with a plan for future work. I highly recommend!

I've been coming to Pear Tree since moving to Maine 5 years ago and they've taken great care of my dental needs since. The office feels modern and clean; staff are friendly and professional and always take time to answer questions and explain things so I can take better care of my teeth between visits. Danielle and the other hygienists that I've seen have all been kind, gentle, and professional during every visit. I would recommend Dr. Skvorak's practice to anyone in need of a new "home." I first visited Dr Skvorak, DMD at Pear Tree Dentistry, in Westbrook, Maine, when I had questions about potential dental work needed. Dr. Skvorak explained my options and gave his recommendations. A few expertly crafted crowns later, I can attest that he is one of the best. As Dr. Skvorak worked on my teeth, he showed me how he designed and crafted my new crown. I was impressed at the process and skill. He invests in his team and in the newest technology, so that his patients benefit from the best available materials, products and knowledgeable staff. My teeth feel and look great! I love visiting my favorite dental hygienist, Danielle. Throughout the challenging covid time period she made me feel safe & comfortable at cleanings. She is friendly, cheerful & accommodating. She is thorough in her cleanings and teaches me something new each time. In her conversation she provides tips on daily routines, such as proper flossing that make our efforts more effective, resulting in less tartar on the next visit. She shares interesting facts from the continuing education seminars that she attends expanding my knowledge. ("expanding floss" you have got to try that too!) From the moment that you walk in the door the entire team makes you feel welcomed and comfortable. Look no further for the best dental office in your area.

I have been a patient at Pear Tree Dentistry since I moved to the Portland area over 20 years ago. They have a beautiful facility and wonderful staff. My children have been seen here since they were toddlers. We all receive exceptional dental care and enjoy the friendly welcome whenever we are seen. Both Dr. Skvorak and Dr. John are highly skilled and knowledgeable. We highly recommend!

I've been going here since the dawn of time, and it's always such a pleasure to walk in and be greeted with enthusiastic smiles from the front desk team. The entire office is is up-to-date with modern equipment, and I appreciate the lengths the staff has gone to ensure the highest level of safety during this pandemic. The staff is so down-to-earth, friendly, professional and knowledgeable, and they keep my chompers clean and healthy!
