At Peak Family Dentistry, we treat patients of all ages and from all walks of life, including children, adults, and those with special needs. Our patient and caring staff work hard to make everyone feel comfortable and at ease during dental treatment.
Lance Vicente, D.M.D. grew up in Edgewater, NJ and loves being able to practice near his hometown. After graduating from Ramapo College of New Jersey Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor's of Science in Biology, he went directly to Rutgers School of Dental Medicine (Formerly UMDNJ) to receive his Doctorate of Medicine in Dentistry. During his time as a dental student, Dr. Vicente was honored to be accepted into Gamma Pi Delta, the Prosthodontic Honor Society, due to his clinical excellence. He then went on to complete a General Practice Residency at Hackensack University Medical Center, where he received further training in all aspects of dentistry, including root canals, oral surgery, fixed and removal prosthodontics, implant placement, pediatric dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, special needs dentistry, operating room dentistry, and the management of medically complex patients. Dr. Vicente enjoys working with a wonderful staff and a loyal patient base.
Dr. Vicente currently lives in Bloomfield, NJ with his wife, Gina. Some interests and hobbies of his include technology, fishing, Ultimate Frisbee, and spending quality time with friends and family. He is an active member-at-large of the Bergen County Dental Society as well as the New Jersey Dental Association and frequently takes continuing education on many aspects of dentistry to keep his knowledge, materials, and techniques up-to-date. Dr. Vicente is always accepting new patients and will always make time for a patient with a dental emergency.

Not everybody is happy going to dentist, but this place will change your mind, very friendly atmosphere, kind and caring, best experience ever, highly recommend this place.

Dr. Lance Vicente is very thorough with wonderful bedside manner. I went in for a specific issue and Dr. Vicente made sure that I was comfortable throughout the appointment. The hygienist was also very sweet. Do recommend if you need a cleaning!

Like many people, I always used to dread going to the dentist, but Dr. Vicente and his staff make visits very easy and pleasant. Dr. Vicente is great at explaining issues clearly and everyone at his office is friendly and helpful!

There chair side manner is warm and comforting. On a recent visit, full COVID-19 protocols were in place making this a very comfortable visit. Thank you all for being on top of everything.

This dentist is absolutely amazing. My son just had work done and I couldn't be happier. His wonderful bedside (chairside?) manner and great communication left me overly impressed. My son left with NO pain and loved going to the dentist! Highly recommend.

All I can say is beware of insurance issues. The only insurance they are in network with is Delta Dental. My husband made an appointment as a new patient and asked the recptionist if they are in network with Aetna. The receptionist looked up our plan and told him "your plan will cover routine dental work at 100%." A large bill was later sent to us for out of network expenses. When I called the office to question the bill (spoke with Maria), they said, "yes, we take Aetna but we are not in network with them." I informed her that the receptionist took the time to look up our specific plan and reassured us "we will be covered at 100%." Her reply was, "yes, but that doesn't cover OUR fees." I understand that as the patient, I am ultimately responsible for the bill...but I feel their office was very misleading. Why would anyone WANT to be left with a bill when you can receive the same services for free (especially as a new patient that has no ties to a particular dentist)? Mostly, I am bothered that their office refused to acknowledge the possibility of any miscommunication on their part. Too many healthcare providers are concerned with getting your business rather than customer satisfaction. We will not be returning.

Dr. Heaney was very gentle, caring, and professional in his approach. I have a real phobia of dentists and as a first time patient of his, I found him to be comforting and understanding. He went above and beyond to explain and treat appropriately. I was able to get an appointment immediately which was very much appreciated. Anyone looking for an excellent dentist, I give Dr. Heaney my highest recommendation.
