Dr. Daniel Cathey was born and raised in Paris, TN and attended Union University, where he received a bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences. He then went onto pursue his dental degree at the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. After four Kentucky Derbys, a new baby and a dental degree under his belt, Dr. Cathey returned to his beautiful home state of Tennessee.
After settling down in Crossville Tennessee, Dr. Cathey worked for several years to hone his craft and further his training, focusing on modern dental techniques, implants, and new dental technologies. In 2020, Dr. Cathey and his growing family moved to Chattanooga to build Peak Family Dentistry, a unique practice that puts patient needs first and offers a variety of services. Through Peak Family Dentistry, Dr. Cathey is able to practice his philosophy of treating the whole person and not only their teeth.
Outside of work, Dr. Cathey enjoys lots of outdoor activities including hiking, biking, or running our many scenic East Tennessee trails. These days he spends most of his time playing in the back yard or making blanket forts with his wife and four beautiful children.
Dr. Marty Cathey, DDS graduated from The University of Tennessee College of Dentistry in Memphis with honors. He practiced dentistry in Paris, Tennessee for 37 years before retiring to spend more time with family. Dr. Marty is excited to be joining his son, Dr. Daniel, to practice dentistry together. Marty is married to Amy Cathey and they greatly enjoy time with their 3 adult children and 4 grandchildren. He also enjoys woodworking, reading, anything outdoors and running with Amy.

I had a dental emergency, the likes of which my previous dentist seemed to want nothing to do with. He kept shoving me off to other specialists, etc. So my sister-in-law referred me to Peak Dentistry, as her family have been patients there for years. The staff are so friendly, they took the time to listen to my problems and concerns, and Dr Cathey worked fast to get a dental plan in action and relieve my extreme pain. I'm bringing my entire family to this office from now on! Thank you Peak family!

10/10 the WORST experience I have ever had with a dental provider. My first visit for a cleaning was great and I loved the girl who did the cleaning procedure. My second visit is where it went all downhill. I went to get a few fillings fixed. I went in with only a little sensitivity and left in a tremendous amount of pain and the problem was not fixed. The whole procedure, I was getting told that they were unsure if I was going to need root canals instead because the nerves were already so exposed but they trucked on anyway even though they weren't sure if the procedure was even going to work. I had to go to a different dentist and was told the procedure was not completed correctly on one tooth as there was still decay around the filling. They REFUSED to even look at x-rays that I was more than willing to provide from my new dental provider to show where the problem was not fixed so that I could have that one filling taken off my bill. I was also told that they took my insurance but was never notified they were not in network until after the procedure (should have checked better on my end but I thought it would have at least been brought to my attention), they refuse to adhere to an adjusted claim, they don't bill their claims under the correct providers and their staff is completely inconsistent with treatment information. I am absolutely disgusted by this practice and would recommend you go ANYWHERE else.

Having a new dentist after 40 years with my old one who followed his dad, raised questions. All of them were answered quite positively with the major dental work I needed today. Not only is the entire staff amazingly professional, friendly and efficient, but they managed to continue an upward trend of continuing to grow as a great place for my family's care. I could not recommend them more highly.

Super friendly and clean, but very expensive and adds extra work that is not necessary. Lady at desk said that my out of network cost is the same as in network which is a lie. Wanted to do $800 for 3 fillings and some kind of special gum cleaning and I went to 2 other places and they found an extra cavity and said that the special gum cleaning is not necessary, so I paid $250 for all 4 fillings at Aspire Dental.
