Even though Dr. Peabody has been well established for more than 25 years in Santa Cruz, CA, he always welcomes new patients. He loves to leave his door open to let patients know that there is a right way to get dental work. Regardless of what they have experienced in the past, Dr. Peabody wants them to move forward with dentistry that is a step above others.
Patients can tell that Dr. Peabody is a different kind of dentist from the moment that they first visit his practice. He takes the time to get to know them better, not only as a patient but as a person. With his personable demeanor, he learns more about their dental needs, what they hope to accomplish, and how he can help them in their journey.
From that point, Dr. Peabody develops customized treatment programs for individual clients since dentistry is not one-size-fits-all. He understands that each patient has different needs and must be treated in a unique manner.
Not only does Dr. Peabody develop individual care programs, but he takes the time to involve clients. He believes that clients must be empowered and informed every step of the way. The dentist wants patients actively involved in their care. He believes the more invested they are, the better their outcomes.
I love being a dentist, and for 33 years I have tremendously enjoyed providing dental care for you as well as the relationships weve formed. I have decided to retire from the private practice of dentistry so that I can spend more time with my family.

I got into dentistry for a variety of reasons, but the main one is that I wanted to have a direct, positive impact on peoples lives and help them feel and look better. As a child, I had an excellent dentist, one I strive to emulate to this day. He was professional, yet kind, calm, and competent and he had a gentle touch and demeanor. My family knew that whatever our dental needs were, he was going to take care of them with quality, long-term stability. We knew we were in great hands.
When I reached high school age, I decided to explore many careers, but I always came back to the idea of being a dentist. I went to work in the dental field while I was in college and fell in love with the profession.
The most challenging and rewarding part of my practice is helping people who were too scared to go to the dentist. I help them achieve optimum dental health in a comfortable, relaxed, humane, dignified way they never dreamed was possible for them! Many of the new patients I see have not been to the dentist for 10 to 30 years or more, and they often come in with the initial impression that they might get lectured (as many were by their past dental providers), and that their dental condition cant be helped.
The first thing they noticed is that we do not judge or criticize people for being dilatory with their dental care. I always emphasize that we have the present and the future, and we move positively forward from there. I assure them that in my practice, we establish quality, long-term relationships with all of our patients, and we treat people with dignity and respect.
When it comes to diagnosis and treatment planning, I always present the best treatment options available to them because thats the kind of dentistry I want in my own mouth. I personally take the time to talk to my patients and write down any and all treatment concerns and goals they have. I make sure all of my patients are informed about their dental needs, treatment options, fees involved, treatment outcomes and expectations, and make sure all of their questions are answered before we begin treatment.
What makes all of this personalized service worthwhile are all of the smiles, tears of joy, and positive comments we receive from our patients because they truly appreciate being well taken care of. I love making the after photos as patients genuinely, without inhibitions, smile for what is often the first time in their lives!
What landed me in Santa Cruz were my church and my extended family. I love the Santa Cruz mountains and the ocean, the numerous outdoor activities we can do year-round, and I think its the most beautiful place in the world to live and raise a family.
Yet, its the people that I love the most. Along with actively living my faith and participating in my church (Im an Orthodox Christian), I am heavily involved in youth sportsmostly coaching little league baseball, but also youth soccer and basketball.
We have a very health-conscious and philanthropically active community, and its a joy to be a part of it all. My wonderful wife Mona and I have healthy, beautiful children and grandchildren who are very fortunate to have grown up in this exceptional county.

Couldn't be happier with the friendly staff and wonderful doc here. The Hygienist is amazing and has a wonderful touch and care. I've been coming here for over 25 years and have always been taken care of to the fullest. Always positive and gracious. Friendly and knowledgeable. Always compassionate and never shaming or negative. I'm not the 'worst dental patient' but I also know first hand the remarkable touch and care they divide for people who have extreme difficulties and severe anxiety with dentist visits. I would and do let Dr. Peabody work on my family, and as anyone who works in the medical/healthcare field will tell you, there is no higher praise.

The best dentist ever! Trustworthy and gentle. I needed a lot of work done and during the process Dr. Peabody and his office took great care of me. The only dentist I've ever been too where it was so gentle I fell asleep during the procedure. Can't recommend Dr. Peabody and his office enough.

I have been a patient of Peabody Dental Care for 20 years or more. Guy and his staff are consistently professional, kind and sensitive to patient's needs. Guy himself is an artist. His attention to detail and skill in crafting and adapting dental devices is truly impressive. I highly recommend Peabody Dental Care for everything from cleaning to complex dental procedures. In addition, they offer sedation dentistry, a real boon for those of us whose palms sweat the very thought of submitting ourselves to the chair.

This was probably the most comfortable new-to-me dental consult I've had, and I've had several over my lifetime. If you read the Peabody Dental Care website "About us, meet the doctor" section, it is exactly what you get when you walk in the door. Warmth, friendliness and sincerity, and Dr. Peabody and staff treat you like a human being, which I very much appreciate. While I haven't had dental work done yet, so can't speak to that part of the practice, I have a feeling it will be a "first things first" treatment plan, from a caring and quality oriented dentist and office staff.

DO NOT GO HERE WITHOUT GETTING ESTIMATES FROM OTHER DENTISTS. I went to Dr. Peobody for some fillings caused by me grinding my teeth and to get a night guard fitted. I had followed his recommendations for doing the fillings as well as some extra deep cleanings to get my dental health where it needed to be. Where the care I received from the dentists was good, I am dumbfounded how they are able to charge such exorbitant amounts for their work. I called 8 dentists in the area and got quotes for the exact work I had done by Dr. Peobody and not one of them quoted over a third of the cost that Dr. Peobody charged. For example the night guard was quoted at just over $1,200. Not a single place in town I called charges over $500 (depending on insurance). Also, I was quoted $220 for a normal cleaning which all the other places I called quoted around $100. Please do your research and do not get ripped off like I did. They quality of work and care is not worth the extra cost whatsoever.

This has been the best experience I had in a dental office. From the moment I came in ,the front office was very welcoming and pleasant, then the Doctor and staff were very professional and knowledgeable. I was explained and communicated my treatment very clearly. I feel that everyone was honest and I was treated like a VIP. I would definetly recommend this office to my friends and family.

Dr. Peabody has been my dentist for 30 years now. I first saw him because I had an accident where I knocked my four front teeth all the way back flat against the roof of my mouth. He was able to save the teeth then, and get me 20 more years out of some of them. Over the years, as complications arose from that dental trauma, he has take care of each and every development with meticulous expertise, compassion, and gentleness. This has included caps, veneers, root canals, retainers to adjust my bite, removables, extractions, and implants. Dr. Peabody always does the best thing for the customer, and stands behind his work 100%. I trust him completely. As I've been married and had children, he is also our entire family's dentist. The hygienists, dental assistants, and administrative staff he selects and trains are wonderful to work with as well. They even work into the evening once a week to be available for those that cannot meet during day shift work hours. You won't find a better medical profeasional, at least I haven't.

Inna did an excellent job of ensuring that I was calculus and plaque free at my cleaning on Friday (10/30/2020). She was efficient and very knowledgeable. She also turned me on to a xylitol spray that will help with my asthma-related dry mouth. It was a great experience and Umma, the front desk receptionist, was extremely friendly!
