PDI Surgery Center - General dentist in Windsor, CA

Our service area includes Sonoma, Mendocino, Lake, Napa, and Marin counties, however, due to limited surgery resources for other counties, PDI treats children in 33 counties in California, and even from other states.

A typical patient treated at PDI is 3.5 years of age, with more than 11 cavities in their primary (baby) teeth. Typically we treat children under the age of seven. Services are all administered under general anesthesia and include cleanings, x-rays, fillings, extractions, crowns, and pulpotomies (root canals on baby teeth).

Today, PDI is a critical dental surgery resource for children from underserved families, as well as children with developmental disabilities throughout Northern California. PDI is a licensed and accredited ambulatory surgery center.

  • Children from low-income families often do not receive timely treatment for tooth decay. Untreated cavities can cause pain and poor self-image and deeply impact a childs overall health and quality of life.
  • PDI is Northern California's only specialized nonprofit dental facility treating children under anesthesia suffering from severe decay. Surgeries are performed under general anesthesia and may include fillings, extractions, pulpotomies, and crowns.

So my child went in with healthy teeth, one however had a cavity and was deemed in need of a root canal. I had been looking. And checking on my child's teeth and noticed some very minor cavities. This place decided to put 6 metal crowns in the child's mouth. 6. Im appalled by this, I see this as nothing more than a money scheme. I would like to know what justifies these actions?? Money??? I was unable to make this appointment and say no or else I would of I'm totally disgusted. Sick of these types of practices. At least use porcelain and not stuff that can be toxic to the kids health for monetary gains. Again appalled.

I couldn't ask for a kinder group of people to have helped us today. The office staff, who were extremely kind and understanding to this frazzled mom. The nurses who were great with my daughter. The sweet anesthesiologist who played my daughter's favorite song for her and answered all her questions . The knowledgeable dentist who helped my daughter. Highly recommend PDI surgery center in Windsor.

My daughter had a good dentist and staff there a few years ago but to this day I will never forget one staff member that has me mad every time I think about it. I believe her title was an education specialist. Instead she told us we were abusing our child. She sat there and screamed at us in front of other staff members. I cannot believe nobody did a thing. The only reason why we didn't argue back is because they had my daughter in the back getting treatment. Education specialist my ass! Didn't learn a darn thing from her. Not only that, she wasn't a dentist so she had no place to say what she said. She also went off on this health kick. Lol She was just outside ordering from the taco truck. Now I don't make fun of any size or looks of a person, but lets just say she shouldn't have had this job. I hope she lost it. She was a horrible person. We teach education to prevent any problems in the future or guide people to learn new ideas to help solve problems. Yelling never got anywhere.

PDI Surgery Center serves the dental needs of children up to age 14, in particular, low income families. They do sedation dental work. My son needed a lot of work done, and due to the nature of his autism, it is necessary to sedate him in order to do any work on his teeth. Only problem was, he was 16. There are literally NO pediatric dentists that do special needs kids in Sonoma County! I went to PDI, and despite his age, they agreed to treat my son. The staff was thorough, professional, and friendly. And the cost was extremely reasonable. PDI made our experience convenient and worry-free. I highly recommend them.

Today was our appointment. We got there at 11-Our apt was 11:30. They let us know they were behind 2 hours. We went and did some shopping then came back. They had us come into a pre-opp room where we met with the Rn Angela- she was Great! Than Dr. Keagel I think was his name. Very nice and informative he went over everything. Than we met with dr. Kwan who was the one putting my son under- I was worried as my son has asthma and bad allergies. He reassured me that he would be fine. They all were very detailed and explained everything. After that we all went back to the OR where we stayed with him until he was asleep. After that my husband and I waited outside. I couldn't handle the waiting room as I was terrified of what could happen. An hour and half later the Dr. Came out & said everything went great. He said we would see him in about 10 min. 15 went by -we asked they said everything was fine he was still waking up...30 minutes later I'm in a panic. 5 minutes later the nurse brought us back to where he was. I was so thankful. He had a bloody nose from the tube being removed. They just wanted it to stop bleeding before we came back. That was the only thing I was upset about I was thinking the worst and it was only a bloody nose. I'm sorry for worrying and wanting to see my son. You all handled it well Thank you all so very much! You guys are truly amazing at what you do! Thank you for taking great care of my baby! We made it home- he has his appetite back and he's back to his crazy self!!

I was so scared when I found out that my 1 year old had to go under general anesthesia in order for the dentists to fix his front teeth decay. My and my husband were so reluctant to go through with the surgery but I'm so glad we did. ALL of the staff made us feel so comfortable during this difficult situation. I'm so glad we came here. AMAZING, AMAZING, AMAZING!!!
