A product of the finest traditions in higher education, Dr. Paula Gould received her BA degree from The University of Pennsylvania, in Philadelphia ,PA., and her DDS Doctorate degree from Northwestern University Dental School in Chicago, IL. An intensive surgical residency program in advanced dental techniques was completed at the VA Medical Center, Martinsburg, W VA.
Dr. Gould was a pioneer in the placement of porcelain veneers in the very first years they were invented. She has witnessed and embraced the invention of newer, stronger porcelains, making veneers more beautiful than ever before. Dr. Gould has been a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) for 25 years, attending their national conventions and continuing education courses. She has restored the smiles of local domestic abuse victims through the AACD Give Back a Smile Program, and through her own volunteerism with Shelter Our Sisters (now called Center for Hope and Safety) in Bergen County.She readily embraced becoming a provider of both Botox and Juvederm fillers. As a member of the American Academy of Facial Esthetics (AAFE) , she frequently updates her education in the area of dental /facial enhancement techniques.
A very meaningful part of Dr.Gould's dental career were the two month-long stays in Israel, arranged through her Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity.As a dentist volunteer, she performed community dentistry and lived in two very different, underserved andimpoverished areas of Israel. She hopes to return for a third time to bring new modern dental techniques and to see how much things have changed.

6 Stars I Couldn't be happier or more thankful with Dr. Gould. After years of braces, invisilgn and teeth whitening, I had given up. I spent over a decade trying to fix my teeth. As a little girl, i thumb sucked leaving my two front teeth out of wack. I spent a long time going back and forth on the idea of veneers and trying to find the right Dr who I can trust. The time spent searching paid off the moment I met Dr Gould. Shes one of the nicest, sweetest, and genuine doctors that you'll meet. She took the time and always made sure we were on the same page. Her dedication and passion for her line of work clearly show from the moment you step into her office. During my first appointment, she visually showed me what my teeth would look, explaining the look we were trying to achieve. I am personally a visual learner and appreciated that I could see what differences would be with the veneers. (Once you see what the potential is, you get even more excited to start the process!!!) She also took the time to assess the history of my health that I would never think would be related to my teeth or mouth... I told her that I suffered from chronic migraines and during my first appointment she took the time to explain that she could tell I'm a grinder and that my migraines were caused by my bite! Well lo and behold she sure was right. She took the time to correct my bite and I have not suffered from ANY migraines since since she corrected my bite. From start to finish It was an absolute pleasure working with Dr. Gould and her dental assistant Deb. I am over the moon with my new smile. It's even better than what I had imagined. I work in a public industry and I finally feel great and confident. I know this review is very lengthy and detailed however I hope it serves as a useful tool for the next person who is in search of an amazing Doctor who they can trust

When your cosmetic dentist is also an artist, she sees your mouth as a canvas to make beautiful and in this way, Dr. Gould does not disappoint. The office is a wam and welcoming place where you never feel rushed and is as immaculate as it is comfortable. Dr Gould is patient with every question or concern. I find this so refreshing in a world where medical and dental offices often feel like factories with little care about their patients. Most important though is the attention to detail and commitment to quality dental work. She does whatever it takes to make sure you are 100% satisfied with your results. I drive from NY to see Dr Gould because I do not think there is another dentist who matches her commitment to excellence. Plus she plays cool music :-), takes the edge off.

Until now I had never been to a dentist who has so much passion for the work that she does. She is more than a dentist, she is an artist and my new veneers reflect that. Dr. Gould has an abundance of patience and seemed to be excited as she walked me through every step of the process. I think Dr. Gould is as thrilled as I am with the outcome of my new smile. Dr. Gould is pure magic and she changed my life!! When I was 7y.o. I fell off my bicycle, hit a manhole cover, and broke 4 of my front adult teeth. I was told that since I was still growing I could only have temporary bonds put in, until I was 18 when I could get permanent veneers. Every year or so these temp bonds would break. I would cry being so embarrassed to go to school like that. The dentist did what he could, but each time I got them fixed they looked a bit different, and they never felt like me. I never had confidence in my smile. When I was 18y.o., right before college, it was time to have my permanent teeth put in. I was so anxious. I met with several cosmetic dentists to make sure I chose the right one to give me my new smile. I'm SO happy that I made the decision to move forward with Dr. Gould. She immediately made me feel at ease with her warm and inviting personality. She heard what I wanted and needed, and saw the potential for my smile. Her attention to detail is incredible- my teeth are perfect! Going into my freshman year I felt like a whole new person and she did that for me. Now over 10 years later... I had a minor crack down the center of 1 veneer. I live in MA but knew I couldn't trust anyone else to do the repair. I made the trip back to NJ and Dr. Gould completely outdid herself. To match this tooth to her previous work would be challenging, but it's EXACTLY THE SAME. The shape, color - it's like nothing changed. She's amazing!!! I recommend Dr. Gould to anyone and everyone that needs help with their smile. She's like no one else.

Dr. Gould did an amazing job of correcting the imperfections that remained post orthodontics, while maintaining a natural smile. She "gets it" that not everyone wants a big Hollywood smile and her work proved that conservative enhancements can make a big difference. My son's teeth had thin enamel that made them appear darker, and a bike accident and years playing school sports had caused some chips. Thanks to Dr. Gould, his teeth are back in great shape he is ready to enter the professional world with a confident smile.

Paula did a fantastic job on creating my mouth guard to prevent grinding. She also did something amazing which was correct my bite! This helped significantly and is the first time I've heard of having it done. The appointment was quick and easy, and I received the mouth guard a few weeks later. Paula's energy and spirit was the icing on the cake.

My experience in Dr. Gould's office was different from any other dental office I've been to. It was first class professionalism and warmth from the start. Walt Disney-like show tunes was a nice touch. More importantly the work performed on my teeth was phenomenal. I remember telling Dr. Gould that she is a magician. Where do I begin? To start, Dr. Gould and her staff are just a joy to be around. They're so personable, you feel as if you've been a client for years. The time and attention Dr. Gould takes with her clients doesn't go unnoticed. On my first visit as I sat in the waiting room, I spoke with another client who couldn't say enough good things about Dr. Gould; she assured me I made the right choice... and I knew after that visit that I'd finally found the right dentist! What can I say...working with Dr. Paula Gould was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I had a bad experience with another doctor who really messed up smile through a poorly planned and executed ortho treatment. I became so self-conscious of my smile, I stopped showing my teeth in pictures, something I NEVER did before. Somehow the universe brought Dr. Gould into my life because when I found out she did veneers, I was so intrigued. We started chatting and I told her what I had experienced and that I wanted to smile again in pictures. She never pressured me into making a decision, she was so knowledgeable and answered every single question and addressed every concern I had. Once I made the decision to go ahead with veneers through her expertise, I knew I made the right choice. Every single step of the way she was thorough and listened to every single one of my requests and concerns and we'd work together to make it perfect. well, I now have my permanent veneers and it has seriously been one of the best decisions I made. I have not stopped showing my teeth in pictures, I just want to smile big all the time. If you're looking for a doctor who will listen to your needs, pay careful attention to detail, inform you throughout your process, and enhance your self esteem by improving your smile, then Dr. Gould is definitely your go-to. I've struggled with my confidence because of my smile and Dr. Gould made sure to work with me when I had questions, doubts, and concerns. She has a vision for what she wants to create, taking what you want, and putting into consideration other factors (such as the smile that'll suit your face, the teeth size, shape, etc.) and ultimately making it happen. Quite literally artistry. Some doctors make you feel rushed like they want to finish the job as soon as possible, with little to no communication between them and said client and get their coin. Dr. Gould is definitely the opposite. She genuinely cares about her patients and takes great strides to make them feel as welcomed as possible in her work space. She explains things in depth and makes sure that YOUR needs are met. Her assistant Deb is just as amazing. Such a sweet and personable individual, definitely brightens up the room. Amazing duo. You will not be disappointed by Dr. Gould, her work and the level of artistry she displays, her honesty (never tries to upsell you on anything, if she doesn't think you need it she'll tell you), her compassion alongside amazing communication skills, and her determination to get you feeling like the best version of yourself.
