About Dr. Hertz D.M.D.Following in his fathers footsteps, Dr. Paul Hertz received his DMD (Doctor of Dental Medicine) degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in 1986 and immediately returned to New York to serve the community he grew up in. He then completed a General Practice Residency at The Albert Einstein College of Medicine and HHC in the Bronx.
This is when he joined his father, Dr. Matthew Hertz, at his long standing (over 40 years) dental practice here in Riverdale. Dr. Hertz will be the first to tell you how lucky he was to have his father as a resource and mentor as anyone who knew him recognized him as a superior clinician. Many of our current patients were originally his patients or family members of his patients and we are so proud to have kept the top notch reputation associated with his name.
Dr. Paul Hertz has been highly regarded by his professional peers for his service to dentistry and the community. He is a past President of the Bronx County Dental Society and remains as a chair and participant on several of their committees and their Executive Board. He was also The Director of the Cosmetic Dentistry Department at the St. Barnibas Hospital residency program. Additionally, he has left a permanent mark on dentistry with two active patents in Implant Dentistry and he is in the process of developing several others. He is constantly working on improving dentistry, not only for his own patients, but for the entire dental world.
In his spare time Dr. Hertz channels his creative energy into painting. He is a recognized artist having articles written about him in significant art periodicals and newspapers. Many patients agree that these talents are one of many things separating him from other dentists. Also separating him is his interest in holistic medicine and dentistry. He is a practicing Reiki Master and is always open to new or different thoughts and techniques.
Immediately following 9/11 Dr. Hertz joined Tower Ladder Company as a volunteer fire fighter in the Briarcliff Manor Volunteer Fire Department where he currently remains active. He is an avid tennis player but most of all he is a dedicated father of two.
