Dari is our roving Assistant. She is the glue that keeps our clinical areas working together. She was raised in Haiku and is as sweet as a Maui girl can be, but when she gets mad at Dr, she's like a tita out of Kalihi! We all love Dari.
Lisa has been with the practice since she was out of High School and Dr is so fortunate and happy that she has decided to make Dental Assisting her career. She has grown into an awesome Denal Assistant. Dr is proud to refer to her as his 'Chinese daughter'.
Dr. Tanakagraduated from St. Louis High School in 1975 and attended the University of Southern California where he earned a B.S. degree inBiology. He almost went into teaching, but his love for science and the urge to express himself with his hands led him to pursue a career in dentistry.
Continuing education is very important to Dr. Tanaka. For this reason, he is a member of the Seattle Study Club, where the latest developments in dentistry are presented through lectures and hands on classes. He is also a member of the Hawaii and American Dental Association.
In April of 1999, Dr. Tanaka took his dental practice to a much higher level of excellence as he committed himself to becoming one of the top 5% of the dentist in the nation to have completed the Masters Aesthetic Program, Full Mouth Rehabilitation, and the Practical Occlusion Course at the Las Vegas Institute. This institute leads the world of post graduates in the advance studies of Cosmetic and Advanced Dentistry.
Its hard to imagine any spare time for Dr. Tanaka. When it does exist, Dr. Tanaka loves to fish! Whatever fish story you may have, Dr. Tanaka can top it (even if its not true). To relax, he may play the piano, play basketball, cook different things with his smokers or just sit and enjoy Danielle and Erins pet box turtles. He makes yummy pupus like crispy jerky and boiled peanuts!

As always... I love going to my dentist office!! Everyone has wonderful attitudes! Orange is wonderful at cleaning teeth, and she is so sweet and gentle! Dr. Tanka is the sweetest and the BEST dentist I have ever had in my whole life. Has completely transformed my mouth thru the years!! I thank the whole crew for being great at their jobs! It's always a pleasure to go to the dentist!!

I started seeing Dr. Tanaka as a kid. He's caring, warm, and great at his job. I've never had a bad experience here. It's a nice office in a pretty area, and always has parking (and it's free!), which is so convenient. About 10 years ago, I moved to LA and over time, saw more than a few different dentists. I had one dentist tell me I had cavities, and another dentist tell me I didn't have cavities. I put off doing anything about it, then ended up coming back because of a family emergency. Turns out I didn't have any cavities!!! I hope I never have to move so that I never have to get a different dentist. If you're looking for a trustworthy dentist, Dr. Tanaka is the one!

Every point of contact, from the reception and (necessary) screening, to the hygienist team, to the follow up and financial duty, is of the highest caliber with more than enough aloha. The facility has been equipped to safely care for us during this COVID-19 pandemic, and the staff are attired above the requirements for health care professionals. Dr. Paul is knowledgeable, personable, thorough, and explains everything in a way that anyone can understand. For someone who grew up afraid of the dentist, I look forward to my appointments with Dr. Tanaka (fortunately my teeth are in good shape for now!)

As always, it was perfect!! I had to fix a broken tooth quickly because I was going on vacation, They fit me in right away and 30 min later, I had my perfect Smile back. He's the best!! His staff is awesome too!
