Nobody wants a root canal but if you need to get one I strongly suggest going to Dr. Showers. He's personable and will talk to you through it about a wide array of topics to keep you from thinking about the drilling and the work was impeccable. He'll be my go-to endodontist from now on!

My father has had 2 root canals from Dr Paul and he's the BEST Straight shooter out there! My dad went to another dentist before going to Dr Paul and was "misled" about the amount of work that actually needed to be done... Thankfully this wonderful office is honest and caring about their patients! Thank you for taking care of my difficult father!!!

I was in intense dental pain and should have taken care of the issue earlier but didn't. My general dentist told me I needed a root canal and it is specialized work. He told me I should see Dr. Showers who an endodontist and by definition performs root canals. After suffering as long as I could I called Dr. Showers office on a holiday and he saw me on January 1, 2021 in the evening. I appreciated him taking time to treat the offending tooth after hours. He was willing to do the root canal even though his staff assistant was not available. The treatment was painless and successful. Don't do as I did and suffer needlessly ! I would highly recommend Dr. Showers if you are in need of an endodontist. The fee was very reasonable and he told me that he never charges for x-rays. Relieved patient, Michael Lynch

I recently had my second appointment with Dr. Showers and again I am very pleased with his honesty and recommendations for follow up with my dental care noting I did not need to have a root canal. It is obvious Dr. Showers takes pride in his profession. Dr. Showers has to be the most honest man in his profession I have ever met. I ultimately did not need the root canal I was told I needed by my Dentist. Dr. Showers examined the tooth, then reviewed my xray, in detail, with me. He will send a report to my dentist . His staff are professional and very pleasant to work with. His office environment is clean and bright allowing you to feel very comfortable. You will not be disappointed with the professional service Dr. Showers has to offer.

The root canal procedure with Dr. Showers was pain free during and after. He also followed up with me a few days later to see how I was doing. Highly recommend.

Really nice guy. Calmed my fears before my root canal. He kept his word and there was no pain, not even with the initial Novocaine shot! He is a kind, gentle soul and really cares about his patients. He even offers discounted rates to Medicaid patients. If it wasn't for him I would not have been able to get my much needed root canal. He was even better than the dentist my mother paid nearly $2000 for a few years back. Highly recommend. No idea how 2 people could have said such horrible things about him in reviews. All the rest of us are very happy with him!

Was told my root canal was going to be "difficult". Process was quick, easy, pain free and a total non issue. Couldn't believe how well it went. Kudos to Paul Showers!

Dr Showers and his office are super nice. I suffer from anxiety with dentists. My dentist referred me to him for a potential root canal. His office worked with my schedule and got me in same day. He was very informative and very thorough and talked with me about what he saw. He relieved my nerves by answering all of my questions. He took his time to see me and did not rush me off to see other patients. I really appreciated this. I would refer him to all. Super nice and very informative.

Wonderfully compassionate care! My wife was in pain and I knew she needed a root canal. I called my local endodontist and they said it would take a week to get her in. I called Dr. Showers and they saw my wife that afternoon! I took my wife all the way up to Libertyville from Elgin to see Dr. Showers. He has done some of my own fillings, and my wife agreed that he was extremely compassionate and made her feel at ease, especially with it being her first root canal! Thank you so much Dr. Showers for seeing my wife Latoya on such short notice! She has her crown now and is doing great!
