Dr. Amit Khanna was born in Wilmington, DE and takes pride in helping patients achieve their ideal smiles. After attending one of the few Ivy League dental schools in the nation, he keeps up with the latest dental techniques and procedures through monthly Continuing Education classes. He is involved in the community, he volunteers with Mission of Mercy, does food drives for the local food band in Southern Maryland, and does drives for the Pregnancy CareNet in Southern Maryland. Dr. Khanna won the 2016 Beacon Award through the St. Marys Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Khanna was written up in a national dental magazine Dental Economics. Education Georgetown University (B.S.) Care First Dental Advisory Board Dr. Khanna married his wife in 2003 and they currently live in St. Marys County with their cocker spaniel, Ruby, and puggle, Minnie. They have two daughters who are the joy of their lives. In his spare time, Dr. Khanna enjoys scuba diving, watching the Washington Redskins, and playing video games.

Dr. Sidhu grew up in Montgomery County, MD. After finishing High School, he left Maryland for California where he became interested in Dentistry and worked as a dental assistant while getting his Bachelors degree. He returned to Maryland and worked in research at the National Institute of Health. However, the deep interest in dentistry pressed him to change careers from research to pursue Dental School. After graduating from Dental School, he elected to pursue a General Practice Residency at the University of Rochester Medical Centre. This residency allowed him to gain valuable experience in treating patients with varied health issues and to expand his surgical skills. He continues to expand his dental knowledge by pursuing continuing education courses and attending local dental society meetings.

Dr. Sidhu takes pride in being a transparent practitioner and welcomes patient input when formulating treatment plans. He appreciates that dentistry cannot be practiced with a broad brush and seeks to tailor treatment to each patients needs.

In his free time, he enjoys going for bike rides, hiking and taking road trips with his wife. Travelling that allows him to immerse himself into different cultures particularly interests him. His favorite destination thus far has been Japan.

Dr. Abubakr Shafi is a practicing full time general dentist at Patuxent Dental. After receiving his undergrad degree at UMBC in Maryland, he completed his dental education at Howard University in DC. He went on to complete general practice residency at Saint Francis Hospital in Hartford, CT where he received the award for the best dentist in the program for Comprehensive Dentistry.

Dr. Shafi strives to provide excellent dental care by listening to his patients' needs, educating them, and developing a personalized treatment plan that will allow them to have a healthy beautiful smile.

Hi! My name is Tammi Auman. I am the Office Manager at Patuxent Dental. I have worked for Patuxent Dental for 10 years. I started working in the dental field 20 years ago as a chairside assistant. I grew up in Charles County and I currently reside in St. Marys County with my husband, two sons, and dog. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with family and friends.

Hi! My name is Bryana, I am the office manager assistant here at Patuxent Dental. I am a southern Maryland native and I would not trade that for the world. I graduated from Chopticon high school in 2015 not only with my diploma but also with an endorsement for completing the academy of finance and other dual enrollment programs! I have also completed College of southern Marylands Dental assistant program. Completing this course allowed me to sit for the Maryland Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) state issued exam where I earned my radiology license. When Im not working at the greatest dental practice in the world I enjoy, hiking, kayaking, fishing, cooking and spending quality time with my family, friends, boyfriend and our fur babies Saboo and Beta!

Kari joined Patuxent Dental in September of 2012 when she and her family moved to Maryland after her husband Keith retired from 20 years of serving as a helicopter pilot in the US Navy. She has been a Registered Dental Hygienist since 1994 when she graduated with Honors from Pensacola Junior College. She also holds her Bachelors degree in Social work from the University of Iowa where she graduated in 1990. Kari was born and raised in Dubuque Iowa. She has lived in Pensacola, FL; Corpus Christi, TX; San Diego, CA; Kailua, HI; Newport, RI and currently resides in Huntingtown, MD.She has been a Hygienist in many specialty practices including Periodontics, Pedodontics and General dentistry. She is licensed to administer local anesthesia and keeps up with the most current dental research and technology through her continuing education. She is extremely dedicated to the oral health of her patients and strives to make each of their visits pleasant, comfortable and efficient while educating them on how to best maintain healthy teeth and gums.

Kristen is one of our Registered Dental Hygienists. She was born and raised in Morgantown, West Virginia. She discovered a love of the dental field young. She received a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from West Virginia University School of Dentistry in 2010. After graduating with honors, Kristen moved to Southern Maryland where she has been practicing dentistry since.

Kristen joined Patuxent Dental in 2014. She loves meeting new patients and making sure they have a pleasant experience. She is very passionate about her work and very efficient which ensures her patients leave happy and with a good understanding of their dental needs.

Kristen loves to work on her continuing education in her down time. She prides herself in staying up to date with the newest advancements in dental hygiene. She currently holds extra licensure to administer local anesthesia as well as to administer and monitor nitrous oxide sedation.

I started working in the dental field as a chairside dental assistant during my senior year of Highschool. I continued school at Baltimore City Community College, graduating and earning an Associate of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene in 2004. My goal is to always provide patients with quality care and comfort. In my spare time I enjoy painting/drawing, music, documentaries, hiking, travelling and spending time with family and friends. Hi! My name is Tammy Barbour, and I have been a dental assistant for 26 years. I have been working with Dr. Khanna since 2006. I am a mother and grandmother, and in my spare time I love spending time with family and friends, fishing, and cooking.

Amy started her dental career in 2000 as a Registered Dental Assistant after graduating from Palomar Community College's dental assisting program. She worked as a chair side assistant for 10 years, adding an Expanded Functions Dental Assisting (EFDA) license in 2006 after graduating from Harcum College's EFDA program. In 2010 Amy took her knowledge and experience from the back office and became a Treatment Coordinator in the front office. Amy joined the Patuxent Dental team in August 2015 when she moved from California to Maryland.

Hello! My name is Ashley and I am the team lead of patient care coordinators here at Patuxent Dental. I started my dental career in 2009 when I landed an internship with a local dental practice and was able gain experience in many areas, since then I have loved the dental field! I was born and raised right here in St. Marys county where I also continue my education at CSM in business management.
