Dr. Patten completed his undergraduate work at the University of Idaho and the University of California- Santa Barbara. He graduated from the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in 2014 before returning to Idaho. He is a member of the American Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry. His hobbies include biking with his family around the Palouse, hiking, backpacking, camping, whitewater rafting, and almost anything outdoors.
Tammy is our Dental Assistant, and has been a Dental Assistant since 1990 when she graduated from Spokane Community College. She and her husband were both born and raised in Spokane, but also lived in Atlanta and Virginia. They moved back closer to home in 2013 when he got a job at WSU. They have a 14 year old son who loves sports, and keeps them busy. She loves the outdoors, fishing, camping, traveling, antiquing and just spending time together as a family. She really enjoys the Palouse!
Becky graduated with honors, receiving a Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene from Eastern Washington University in 2015. She is a member of the AmericanDental Hygiene Association. She was born and raisedin St. Maries and returned to North Idaho in 2007 after living in Chicago and Portland as a Flight Attendant. Becky now lives in Potlatch with her husband Ryan and their five children. She enjoys traveling, camping, snow-biking, caring for her flowers, and attending the many activities their children are involvedin. Becky has been with Patten Family Dentistry since March 2017.
Elaina was born in Potlatch, Idaho and means to call this beautiful place home for a very long time. Elaina and her husband keep very busy with work/real estate projects, spending time with family and traveling when they get the chance. Elainas greatest hobby and joy is her horses and in recent years she has spent the majority of her time training and raising a colt that was born from her mare. She feels very blessed to have a job here at Patten Family Dentistry and couldnt ask for a better work environment or co-workers.
Brenda was also born and raised here on the Palouse and loves this area. She is an avid gardener and loves spending time outside. She is very close to all of her family and spends as much time as she can with brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.

All of the staff is extremely friendly and personable! Dr. Patten and all of the other nice ladies in the office are very knowledgeable and give great detailed information so that you under exactly what's happening. Overall a great experience!

Not good at handling autistic kids. The first appointment (cleaning) was fine. I had to stand at the front desk for 10 minutes, ringing the bell twice in that time for anyone to come. But the hygienist was accommodating and really nice to my autistic 4yo, allowing her to sit in my lap for her cleaning. They found 2 cavities and I explained to them ahead of time that she has sensory issues and our last dentist had warned us she might need to be sedated for dental work. They seemed to understand and I set up an appointment for her cavity fillings. We got there today for that appointment and my daughter again refused to get in the chair by herself. They wouldn't let me sit with her this time and couldn't sedate her which I understand. I'm not upset about that. But the dentist was honestly rude saying he "didn't have it in him to deal with it" and that we would just have to pay out of pocket for sedation elsewhere because no one who accepts Idaho Medicaid could/would do it. We left and I found a dentist who accepted Medicaid, would accommodate her sensory needs, and could sedate her if needed within an hour. If you're not equipped to handle autistic children, maybe put in any amount of effort to find someone to refer them to. We will not be back.

Patten Family Dentistry has friendly staff, and follows through with good service. We had some issues with them, but they were resolved.

Dr. Patten is a great dentist who won't do work that you don't need. We were so happy to get his second opinion before overpaying for fillings!

Fantastic dentist! Got me in really quick when I thought I had broken a tooth. Super understanding and great at giving me information about oral health. I enjoy learning some of the anatomy and physiology in the process of treatment and this doc is great about that!

I am 67 years old snd I have finally found the Best Dentist ever. Dr Patten cares about his patients. He provided such great and pain free care. His staff goes out of their way to make you feel welcome and answer any questions you might have. I highly recommend this Doctor and Staff.

We (husband, self, and now two children) have been going to Patten since he took over for Dr. Loomis. Dr Patten is enthusiastic about his profession, and wonderful at answering questions and gives great explanations. He has a good rapport with my teenage daughter, and I am starting my three year old daughter with him this fall. I feel his care is excellent and his staff has always been friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!

I have been in the office before for my daughters care and always been treated well. Dr Patten is great with communication, explanations and questions answered. I myself have not had any care for a long long time, and just had had a tooth pulled. Being that I have not been to a dentist in that long time I was nervous about it. The entire staff is very welcoming and treated me with nothing less than respect. The entire going to the dentist experience, starting with the waiting room, is quite pleasant here!

Due to horrible and painful experiences with dentists as a child I developed a fear of going to the dentist. It was so bad that I had to have other family members take my kids in to the dentist for their appointments. The end of last year I started having some issues with my teeth (I hadn't seen a dentist, except to have 2 teeth removed, for about 14 years). Dr. Patten gave me an rx for some meds to help with my anxiety and we started on fixing my teeth. Luckily, I only needed 5 cavities filled and 2 wisdom teeth removed. Dr. Patten and the ladies in the office were really nice and very helpful with getting my teeth back on track. There was absolutely no judgment, lots of encouragement, and they made sure I was very comfortable through every visit. They listened to my concerns investigated any issues and checked my insurance for me and making payments has been so easy. This entire experience has really helped me work through my fears and now my kids are schedule for their appointments and I feel comfortable taking them in myself. I am very grateful to these people for helping me out and definitely recommend them.

Went in for my cleaning and exam. The entire team here is welcoming and my teeth have never felt so clean after Becky cleaned them! I apppreciate how knowledgeable Dr. Patten is and the quality of his work. Christy at the front desk does an awesome job on reminders and scheduling! I highly recommend!
