They must use their experience and position to teach and give others the benefit of what they have learned. Be involved and be mentors. Use your knowledge to improve existing continuing education programs and help develop quality programs where none exist. Be a recognizable participant in study clubs, society meetings, regional conferences, and significantly, local dental schools.

3There is a responsibility to the AGD Masters of the AGD have influence and prestige within the organization. Keep the commitment to the AGD strong and leverage the Master position to make the AGD an even better organization. Stay engaged, whether it be on a constituent, regional, or national level. Masters talents are needed as the AGD moves forward into a new era.

4There is a responsibility to community Master credentials speak for themselves within the dental profession, but Masters must actively extend their influence and talents into the communities that they serve. Be committed and be leaders. Exemplify dedication, concern, compassion and understanding in the community in the manner of unselfish service. Doing so will enhance the professional image among those we serve, and those who might enter our profession tomorrow.

Masters are leaders in the profession charged with the obligations and responsibilities outlined here. In accepting the award, Masters have made a commitment to the highest professional standards and the ideals of the AGD. It is a commitment that will last throughout their professional lives.

Your dentist is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), an organization of general dentists who are dedicated to professional development and continuing education. All AGD members must remain current with advances in the profession to provide quality patient treatment. A general dentist who is a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD) has been recognized by other general dentists as a leader and an example to other dentists of the importance of quality continuing dental education to patient care. A general dentist who has earned the designation Master of the Academy of General Dentistry (MAGD)a big step up from Fellowshiphas completed a structured and rigorous set of requirements involving all the dental disciplines. Both Fellows and Masters have accepted the charge to keep abreast of advances in dentistry for the benefit of patients and the betterment of dentistry. They serve as mentors and leaders to other dentists pursuing continuing dental education. They set examples in their communities with their hard work, concern and involvement.

To earn a Fellowship Award, your dentist must earn a minimum of 500 approved continuing dental education credits and pass a comprehensive 400-question examination. Your dentist must also be an Academy of General Dentistry member for five continuous years. While attaining Fellowship is a challenge, it allows dentists to remain current with what is new in dentistry, and to incorporate the latest techniques into their practices.

To attain Mastership, members must first be Fellows in the Academy of General Dentistry. Then they must earn an additional 600 approved continuing education credits, meeting minimum requirements in certain dental disciplines, of which 400 hours are hands on courses. Thus, a Master of the Academy of General Dentistry has taken a total of 1,100 hours of continuing education. A Master has studied 16 disciplines in dentistry, such as periodontics, orthodontics and implants.

Fellows and Masters of the Academy of General Dentistry follow a lifelong pursuit of continuing education to provide the highest quality of dental care to patients. The award symbolizes the professional responsibility of general dentists to remain current in their profession and reminds each member of the dental profession to continue to learn new techniques for their dental practice. These are awards, however and should not be confused with post-graduate degrees or certification. Every dentist who applies for the Fellowship or Mastership award has their application reviewed by the AGD Council on Dental Education to assure that the high standards of the Academy of General Dentistry are met.

To date, more than 10,000 members of the Academy of General Dentistry have become Fellows and more than 1,000 have gone on to receive Mastership. The Academy is proud of all of its members who must take at least 75 hours of continuing dental education every three years, and especially proud of its members who have made the commitment to pursue these awards. When your dentist has achieved the Fellowship Award or Mastership Award, you can be assured that they are dedicated to providing the finest care in general dentistry.

This information was compiled for you by the Academy of General Dentistry. Your dentist cares about long-tern dental health for you and your family and demonstrates that concern by belonging to the Academy of General Dentistry. As one of the 35,000 general dentists in the United States and Canada who are members of the Academy, your dentist participates in an ongoing program of professional development and continuing education to remain current with advances in the profession and to provide quality patient treatment. I have hybrid dentures which Dr. Foley did for me. In 2019, a piece broke off the upper hybrid denture. I went back to him to see if he could repair it. He removed it and sent it to his lab for repair. When he received it back and put it back in my mouth, he apparently put a retention wire in which supposedly provides strength to the upper denture per the guy at his lab. It felt tighter on my jaw but I tried to make do. It did not get to feeling better. Earlier this year it started giving me great difficulty in speaking, especially in doing my job. I stammered a great deal in speaking. Because of this, I quit my job and retired early. It now feels extremely tight on my upper jaw and is very uncomfortable. Last year, he suggested a new hybrid denture for about $8,000. He told me earlier this year that he cannot remove the retention wire, as it is intertwined around the implant abutments. So which is it? Do I need a new hybrid denture or he cannot remove the retention wire and why can the retention wire not be removed or perhaps cut off if it is too tightly wrapped to remove? He put this thing in my mouth (retention wire) which disturbs me greatly. I have tried to discuss this with him several times over the past couple of years with no relief and I feel little caring from him regarding this. I feel like killing myself because of this. Why should I pay so much money to fix this situation which he seems to have caused? This seems to me to be a situation I should discuss with an attorney regarding a malpractice suit.

Phenomenal experience... yeah, even at the dentist! Smooth and super friendly operation. Extremely clean and in tip-top condition! Great experience from checking-in to the dentist one-on-one time. I've never been to a dentist that spent so much time directly with patients without dental hygienists, love it!!!!

I was sent here by referral and thought it would be nice to have a dentist so close to my house. "Modern" is not the first word that will come to mind when you enter. The gear is out of date and so is the practice. First of all you would think that at such a small place someone would call you by name. Out of the 3 people I interacted with at my last visit no one said more than 10 words to me other than when payment was due. Very impersonal. I was getting a filling replaced. Dr Foley came in and jammed the giant needle in. After 15 minutes he came back and started drilling away...pretty aggressively. I should mention I have had 2 teeth pulled right out of my skull while wide awake and wasn't stressed out at all. While he was drilling the assistant was doing a really poor job at the water suction. Right as I was choking a bit Dr Foley hit a nerve and I yanked back. I said "hold on, PAIN! Also I feel like I'm being water boarded here! I'm choking on water." He says " Oh, sorry about that" and KEEPS ON DRILLING! Guess what? He hit the nerve again! Time for another shot DUH! Then he waits about 10 seconds and starts drilling again. In a hurry dude? Now I'm stressed out. It hurts again but I tough it out as it's not as bad. Then he forgets to have me bite down the first time when the filling is setting. How do I know this? Because he asks me to "bite down again" when I hadn't even bitten down once yet. By this time the filling had already hardened a bit and wasn't able to sit right after the next couple bites. Then when he was finished I pointed out that I felt sharpness on the tongue side. He seemed annoyed that he would have to get back in there. Trust me I didn't want him to. Here's the best/worst part. He starts grinding into my surrounding teeth to fix the bite! Not the tooth that he had just worked on but perfectly good teeth! He even said to me " Well the tooth you were complaining about feeling sharp wasn't even the tooth we were working on" Unbelievable! Guess what? Now I have a super sensitive tooth right where he messed with it! Seems to me that Dr Foley is pretty old school and likes to do things his way. Probably why he's the only Dentist in there. Who's gonna argue with him? He had this whole list of things he would like to do to my teeth. I'm gonna pass. If you want a state of the art Dentist and people who care about you as a human and not a paycheck I would highly recommend looking elsewhere. I won't be going back. The only reason I gave it 2 stars and not 1 is because I liked the lady that cleaned my teeth and did the x rays. PS, fix your air conditioner. Your patients will be happier and so will your staff.

I've been here twice now. Both times I have been greeted with a friendly and attentive staff. The cleaning I receive from this place is very gentle, yet through. I will be going here for a third time in 6 months from now. I cant say enough good things about this office, its staff, or the doc. Highly recommended.

Staff is knowledgeable and actually explain things to you better than the Dentist. I had pretty good experiences until I attempted to discuss with Dr. Foley the best options for work I needed. He actually one word answered me and walked away while I was talking. Major let down. His "Bedside Manor" could use some work. Had to find another dentist because of this. He also performed a Root Canal (without thoroughly discussing my options) that completely fell apart weeks after completion. If you decide to use his service, demand that he SLOW DOWN and discuss your options. There's more to a patients dental care than simply trying to find ways to empty their insurance balance on a yearly basis!
