Dr. Hoban is a native Cincinnatian growing up in Finnytown and Greenhills, Ohio. He attended Roger Bacon High School, and then went to the University of Cincinnati where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Next, he went to The Ohio State University College of Dentistry, receiving his DDS (Doctor of Dental Surgery) degree in 1984 after which he did his residency at the medical College of Ohio now part of the University of Toledo.
Since starting his practice in Fairfield, Ohio, Dr. Hoban has been involved in extensive continuing education covering many facets of dentistry, some of which include cosmetic dentistry, implants, dentures, Invisalign, etc.
Dr. Hoban was always active in sports, and after his children were old enough for soccer, he went from playing soccer to coaching. After 14 years of coaching, and after the children were off to college, he has become more active in golf and enjoys bike riding with his wife.
Dr. Mack Hoban began working with us in July of 2018. Being the son of Dr. Patrick Hoban, Dr. Mack has grown up in this office. He lived in Fairfield then West Chester and attended Saint Xavier High School. He did his undergraduate and professional school in Columbus, Ohio at The Ohio State University. Knowing a business background would be beneficial, Dr. Mack got his bachelors in Accounting with a minor in Biology. While in dental school, he stayed busy having leadership roles in multiple organizations and volunteering every Wednesday evening providing food to people in need.
In 2016, Dr. Mack led a dental mission trip to Honduras where he extracted teeth on people who did not have access to a dentist. In his final year of dental school, he was hired as the Team Dentist for Ohio State Athletics. This job included providing dental work to the athletes and making them custom mouthguards. Dr. Mack graduated in May, 2017 and has spent the past year completing an elective Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at the University of Cincinnati (UC Health). This advanced training includes doing regular general dentistry procedures as well as specialty procedures such as root canals, implants, and extractions. Dr. Mack looks forward to meeting all of the great patients of Hoban Dentistry!

I've been a patient of the Hoban practice for more than 32 years and feel like I'm visiting family in a beautiful spa setting vs. going to a 'dental office', but at the same time, am confident I am getting top-notch care.

Everyone is very helpful and explained everything very thorough. I feel like it is family. The interaction with everyone was great and I have already set up my next appointment. I had an experience where I needed to see a different kind of dental person. Dr. Hoban had one of his staff walk me over there, and then Dr. Hoban called the other professional and asked him if I was a member of his family what would he recommend. That way I got the best decision without me having to decide what was best. I appreciate Dr. Hoban continuing to see that I got the best care. Painless!!!

I had a pain in my tooth and I was hesitant to go to the dentist because of Covid but a friend of mine told me that Hoban dentistry is taking every precaution possible, so I went. I was not disappointed. Not only did they work hard to get me in even though I did not originally have a scheduled appointment; but they made me feel very comfortable. I felt totally safe and they were able to help me at the same time.

Loved the experience at Dr. Hoban Dentistry. My husband has been going to Dr. Patrick Hoban since he was a child. I had the opportunity to see his son, Dr. Mack Hoban. Such a caring and truly knowledgeable doc! The staff was just as great! I hope to make this the place where my family continues to go and get amazing dental care!

After 3 decades of using the same dentist, after he retired I needed to find a new one. I started with Dr Patrick Hoban, and am thrilled that I did. It has been spectacular through these past 6-8 months. Great staff and I have felt right at home here. I Couldn't be happier. Shout out to Sherry & Natalie for going the extra mile. Just a very fun & plesant experience each & every time!
