Dr. Marc E Paternina first graduated 1988 from the University of Cartagena School of Dentistry in Cartagena Colombia. He received his Doctor in Dental Surgery degree in 1999 from New York University, New York. Dr. Paternina completed his 2 years Orthodontics Fellowship Program at the AGPO in Chicago IL .
Dr. Paternina is a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and the American Orthodontic Society. Dr. Paternina is a member in good standing of the following professional organizations: American Dental Association, Queens County Dental Society, Nassau County Dental Society, The American Orthodontic Society, The International Congress of Oral Implantologists, The American Academy of Implant Dentistry and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry among others.

Doctor Paternina is a professional with good ethics. I went to his office to get a smile design because I was thinking that was the solution to my problem. He could have gotten that for me and get the money but he didn't, he immediately told me that the solution to my problem was braces. I trusted him and I saw huge improvement in my smile in short time. I highly recommend him because of his passion towards helping people and his professionalism. I have had the pleasure of being a patient of Paternina Dental for the past several years. He is the most professional, compassionate and friendly provider I have ever met. Dr. Paternina and his staff offer sophisticated technology (radiology is exceptional) and services, the best dental / orthodontic / oral surgery care I have ever received. My procedures have been virtually pain-free, 100% safe, hygienic, efficient and effective. In this cautious era of a pandemic, management has taken every possible step to EXCEED wellness and safety standards. The cleanliness of the office speaks for itself; it is spotless and is maintained at all times with the utmost respect for patients wellness and safety. Temperature checks, hand sanitizers and handwashing throughout the office (even sanitizer outside!), full contact disclosure and current / past medical history ensure that every patient who walks through the locked doors (after undergoing the above referenced procedures) is safe and assured that their health is protected. I told Dr. Paternina that his bedside manner and compassionate, caring and considerate nature were second to none - this, combined with all of the above - will keep me coming back to Paternina Dental for all of my dental needs!
