Dr. Richter graduated with honors from LIU CW POST in 1984 where he received a Bachelors of Science in Biology and received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree (D.M.D.) from Fairleigh Dickinson College of Dental Medicine in 1988. He has been in private practice since 1989.
He is also a certifiedInvisaligndentist and has numerous continuing education accomplishments. Dr. Richter has well over one thousand hours of continuing education recorded with the state of NY and several hundred hours of study in non accredited programs including training he received abroadin the Philippines.
Dr. Richter attended Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine where she received a doctorate of dental surgery (DDS) degree in 2015. In 2016 she completed a one-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency program in Maui, Hawaii through New York University.
Dr. Richter has participated in multiple outreach programs to provide dental treatment and education to both local and international communities. As a student at Stony Brook, she traveled to Buff Bay, Jamaica to provide dental surgery and preventive treatment to those in need. During her residency, she continued her training by providing care to the underserved population at the local community clinic in Maui County, Hawaii.

I LOVE going to this dental office! These dentists! These hygienists! I walk out of every appointment smiling because I have been cheerfully & professionally cared for. That being said about notoriously dreaded "trips to the dentist" speaks volumes.

Dr Richter and the entire staff have been so wonderful helping me as I've had to have extensive work done the past 3 years and I was so grateful he accepted my insurance. Dr Richter is so kind and gentle and made me feel at ease with his caring ways. I greatly admire his expertise and the professionalism of how he runs his practice. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for the highest quality dental work with true compassion for his patients. I now smile bigger than ever proud to show my healthy and straight teeth after his recommended orthodontic work, which I've received numerous compliments from those who witnessed the transformation. I never would have expected to look forward to a dental appointment but Dr Richter, his lovely wife, Lorraine, and their entire staff are a true delight to see every time !

Without a doubt, one of the most gifted and compassionate dentists I have ever encountered. Made an appointment with Dr. Richter when traveling 40 miles each way to have dental work done by my cousin was becoming too difficult. That was 15 years ago. He has become our family dentist and orthodontist and I have recommended him to friends many times. He is very knowledgeable, lectures around the world and has state-of-the-art equipment. He treats his patients like family. His daughter is also an excellent dentist and his wife an excellent hygienist. Both work in his office and make this a very welcoming and family-friendly practice.

I went to Dr. Richter several years ago with a gum disease problem. I had already lost a rear tooth and thought I would have to go for very expensive periodontics surgery. Dr. Richer began treating me with periodontal laser therapy in his office. He was able to correct my bone deterioration, and save the rest of my teeth. Subsequently, he put me on a quarterly gum cleaning program by his excellent hygienist team. I have not lost a tooth since then and my gums are clean and healthy.

Dr. Richter and his staff are truly the most kind and accomodating staff you will ever come across. I have been going to Dr. Richter for my dental work for many years and I have NEVER been disappointed. His staff always greets you will a smile, his office is immaculately clean and up to date, and his skill in his work is like no other dentist I've ever visited. I am a "needy" dental patient (with gum issues, have been through invisilign, countless cavities, and most recently lumineers) and no matter my issue he handles it with care, and a perfect outcome. About five years ago I went back to him after I learned about veneers, and when I told him the look I wanted he gentley guided me through the process and made sure I had the look that I wanted, but still looked natural and feminine. I am BEYOND thrilled with my teeth! I get compliments everywhere I go. He is a perfectionist and you will never leave with anything disatisfactory. In fact- a couple of my colleagues have gone themselves for their OWN veneers. He recently started offering injectibles. YAY!! His skill with any sort of injection (be it novicane, botox, etc) are completely painless and gentle. I have had botox and juvederm done in multiple place all over NYC- and none ever last as long as Dr Richter's. It gets even better- while you are sitting and waiting to numb up or get your cavity filled or whatever you are getting done, the chairs massage you and theres a flat screen TV mounted above you to watch! It doesn't get more comfortable than this place. I RARELY make reviews online, but Hampton Family Dental was one of the rare few I felt the need to put out there. I commute to him from Queens for goodness sake! He is totally worth it.
