I consider myself extremely fortunate to have found a profession that allows me to utilize my creative skills. Orthodontics is such a detail-oriented profession and it isthe little detailsthat put the finishing polish on a smile!

Over the years, so many people have put their trust in me to create their beautiful smiles. I love watching my patientsgain confidence and improve their self-esteem as their appearance changes. A beautiful smile makes a lasting, positive difference in my patients lives; they have improved oral and overall health, as well as anincredible smile. It is wonderful to be able to provide these gifts!

My relationship with orthodontics began when I experienced a smile transformationmyself. I could not believe the difference orthodonticsmade in my smile and my life, and now creating amazing smiles is my passion.

My Doctorate of Dental Medicine is from Farleigh Dickinson University School of Dental Medicine, where I was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Honor Society for Dentistry. Upon graduation, I was selected as a general practice resident at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. There, I studied all aspects of dentistry and affirmedmy passion for orthodontics.

My formal orthodontic education was completed at Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery, from whichI graduated with a certificate in orthodontics. In 1998, I received the highest honor in my profession when I earned the title ofDiplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics.

I always enjoy learning and staying on the leading edge of advances in my field. I regularly attend continuing orthodontic education courses and study other aspects of dentistry. I have attended the full course of the McLaughlin Lecture Series and am truly grateful for that experience. It has guided and enhanced my delivery of service as an orthodontist.

My memberships in the American Association of Orthodontists and the American Board of Orthodontics enableme to learn from the leaders in our field. I also stay current on research findings and discussions of treatment modalities through journals and other publications.

I haveresidedin NewJersey, first in Paterson and Totowa, before settling in West Orange and Highlands. My best friend is my office support dog Julie. When were not hard at work, we enjoy spending time together, especially taking long walks and playing agood game of fetch on the beach. My favorite pastimes include reading, gardening, and decorating.

Our smiles are how we greet the world: theyre what we notice first when we meetsomeone new, and they leave a lasting impression. When our smiles are healthy and beautiful, were more confident in our lives, whether wereat school, work, or in the community.

Did you know that orthodontic treatment is available and appropriatefor adults and seniors? Todays leading-edge processes include clear brackets and aligners. These are virtually invisible and enableus to shift your teeth into proper alignment without anyone knowing youre undergoing treatment.

For most people, achieving a healthy, beautiful smile is the reason for receiving orthodontic care. If you're self-conscious about your smile, correcting your concerns with braces will greatly improve the way you look and feel.

When your treatment is complete, you will have the smile you've always dreamed of and the confidence to show it off! We also want you to feel comfortable and confident throughout your entire orthodontic experience, and our practice is dedicated to making sure that you receive the quality care you deserve.

Orthodontic appliances are made of metal, ceramic, or plastic. They may be removable or they may be brackets bonded to the teeth. By placing a constant, gentle force in a carefully controlled direction, braces slowly move teeth to the proper position.

Gone are the days when a metal band with a bracket was placed around each tooth. You can now choose clear or metal brackets and, in some cases, the color of your appliance. Wires are far less noticeable, and the latest materials are designed to move teeth faster with more comfort. Today, any age is a great age to wear braces!

Treatment time varies and can last between one and three years, depending on several factors including age, treatment method, and how minor or severe your case is. A big factor in a successful treatment is you! The more involved and diligent you are, the more efficient your treatment will be. For children, receiving interceptive or early treatment can also help provide a quicker treatment time.

The final phase of your orthodontic treatment is RETENTION. Today our retainers are clear aligners and the required wear time will be set based on the nature of the pre-existing mal-alignment of your teeth. Other retainers such as a nightguard may be recommended if habits such as night time grinding may contribute to excessive wear of your teeth.
