We have been in practice in the heart of Pasadena since 1985. We have a comfortable and spacious building with plenty of parking and plenty of room to give you the service you need.Whether you have been referred to us by your general dentist, or you have come to us directly via this website, we welcome you to our periodontal practice!

As periodontists we have seen it all, and know how to return to health even the most deteriorated dental condition. Where we have a patient with broken-down teeth, our first priority is to do what we can to save existing teeth, weighing whether the teeth can be saved, the cost to save them and for how long.

Dr. Henriod received his DDS degree from the renowned UCLA School of Dentistry and was the Chief Resident during his Periodontic Residency at the Medical University of South Carolina. Because periodontics is an ever changing field, continual learning is a cornerstone of his dental practice.

Hes a Diplomate of the prestigious American Board of Periodontology. He was certified after passing a comprehensive and rigorous examination process covering all phases of gum disease and its treatment, including dental implants. Only 10% of periodontists have this certification.

In addition to being board-certified in periodontics, Dr. Henriod is certified in LANAP (laser periodontal surgery), a minimally invasive alternative to regular periodontal surgery (gum disease surgery); trained in the Pinhole Surgical Technique, a non-surgical solution for receding gum; and he is certified in oral and IV sedation as well.

Respected by his peers as one of the top periodontists in the area, Dr. Henriod teaches periodontists and other dentists about implant surgery, bone grafting techniques and minimally invasive gum grafting. His reputation for practical problem solving using the best technology and techniques has made him a sought-after speaker.

From 2008 to 2013 he made presentations and gave over 100 lectures to dental clinicians around the world on laser gum treatment, dental implants and treating complicated dental treatment through teamwork.

Dr. Henriod loves improving the oral health of his patients through periodontal treatment and helping fearful patients realize that modern surgical dentistry is more comfortable and less invasive than ever. He is passionate about giving his patients the best care every time he sees them.

I love living in the Pasadena, Los Angeles area with my wife, children, and our black lab named Clyde. We try to experience the great weather, museums, oceans and mountains in our backyard. I enjoy road biking, surfing, gardening, and hiking any mountain. I did my first Ironman recently and survived! What a great place to live and work!

Dr. Hendry received his DDS degree from UCLA School of Dentistry. He completed his residency at UCLA Periodontics. Dr. Hendry is certified in LANAP (Laser Periodontal Surgery), Chao Pinhole Surgical Technique (PST),as well as both Oral and IV sedation.

Dr. Hendrys passion is to provide periodontal services using the most pain free and advanced techniques available. He cares greatly about each individuals needs and wants them to have a smile they can be proud of.

I love living here in beautiful Southern California with my wife and three children. Together, we like to play as hard as we work. You can find us at the beach, hiking in the mountains, or at one of the many theme parks California has to offer. As a family, we enjoy biking, hiking, swimming and even flying. I have had my private pilots license for almost 20 years and I hope to visit all of the wonders of this amazing state. In my spare time, I enjoy competing in triathlons, scuba diving, traveling, and spending time with my extended family. I also volunteer with Boy Scouts of America and am an active member of my church.

As Dr. Ronald Miller says, education is the foundation of science. He attributes his solid foundation as a periodontist to his excellent education and post-graduate continuing education. Periodontics has seen many changes since Dr. Miller started practicing in the 1980s, and Dr. Miller has been proud to embrace them all.

I am so very grateful to be part of a profession in which there are so many advancements, and the changes and improvements have been unbelievable, says Dr. Miller. Above all, Dr. Miller loves the opportunity he has had to help thousands of patients live better lives through good oral health.

Dr. Miller was born into a wonderful family headed by loving parents. He grew up in Monrovia, California and made many lifelong friends there. He played basketball in high school and receivedmany scholarships. He chose Loyola University and later realized what a great choice he had made.

After Loyola, he served as a missionary for his church for two years, then went to USC for his dental degree. After graduation, he went to Loma Linda University to pursue his specialty training in periodontics.

Dr. Miller enjoys golfing, skiing, fishing, gardening, and reading. He has been blessed with good health, a wonderful family, a beautiful and loving wife, nine wonderful children, several grandchildren and many friends.

Im so grateful I chose dentistry, says Dr. Miller. The profession has given me so many opportunities, challenges, and wonderful people with whom Ive been privileged to work. I am grateful to have this opportunity to work in this practice with my son-in-law who is an exceptional doctor. Life is and has been wonderful!

A dental implant is a replacement tooth anchored by a titanium post (the root) with a replacement tooth or teeth attached to it. Dental implants can be used to support a single crown, several teeth as in a dental bridge, or a full arch of teeth.

Dental implants look, feel and act like natural teeth and can last a lifetime if properly cared for. Dental implants in their modern form have a proven track record of longevity and stability. Implants have several advantages over other forms of teeth replacement, and with modern innovations in technology, most patients can benefit from them.

Developments in bone grafting and bone reconstruction as well as the minimally invasive nature of modern implant placement has made it so that most patients can receive implants. Additionally, there are now implant procedures that can even eliminate the need for bone grafting, making implant treatment faster and more affordable than ever.

When properly prepared, placed and looked after, dental implants can last your lifetime. Key to their endurance is the foundation in which they are placed. We make sure that your implants are embedded in healthy bone and gum tissue.

Using our 3D Cone Beam scanner, we capture 360 views of the jaw, teeth, gums, nerves and adjacent structures. This allows us to see the exact condition of your bone and gums. We precisely plan where to place your implants for best bone volume and density, as well as any other treatment that might need to be done to ensure your implant surgerys success.

We guarantee our dental implants. We have a very high success rate and feel confident that your implant will last, given proper after care. If something does happen, we willalways work to provide the best solution.

Dental implants use titanium, a non-corrosive, neutral and long-lasting metal. Implants can suffer the same periodontal issues as natural teeth, however, and require good oral care and regular cleanings at the dentist, just like natural teeth.

Once their implant is placed, most patients cant tell the difference between their natural teeth and the implant tooth. They can eat with it completely normally, with full chewing power, and they can brush and floss normally as well. Implants used to support restorations such as dental bridges and dentures are also very lifelike in look and function, and the more implants used to support the restoration, the more lifelike it is.

Bone in the jaw atrophies where there is no tooth. This is because the bone requires the pressure of chewing to maintain its density. In the first year of losing a tooth, if no implant is placed, the bone where the tooth was loses 25% of its volume, and bone loss continues over the years.

Implants act as natural teeth and provide the stimulation needed to keep bone healthy. This is also true for implant-supported bridges or fixed implant-supported dentures (non-removable by the patient).

The gap caused by a missing tooth can destabilize adjacent teeth, causing them to shift towards the gap. This pulls your teeth out of position and can affect your bite and your ability to chew. A poor bite can also lead to problems with your TMJ (temporomandibular joint).

As dental implants can prevent bone loss, they can also prevent facial sagging for people who have all or many of their teeth missing. Due to progressive bone loss caused by the missing teeth, the height between the tip of the nose and chin decreases, causing the lower third of the face to collapse.

Dental implants provide a far superior experience compared to dentures because of dentures unstable nature. Even dentures that fit well when first made soon lose for their because of increasing bone loss. Eventually, its difficult to keep any denture stable due to wear on the bony ridges that dentures clasp onto.

  • Dentures cover the roof of the mouth. With implants, theres nothing covering the roof of your mouth to interfere with your sense of taste or other normal activities. Implant-supported dentures can also be fabricated without a palate.
  • Its hard to chew with dentures and you cant eat a lot of the foods you like or need. Dentures can move while you chew, which is annoying, and also makes it difficult to chew! In fact, dentures generally have only 10% or less of full chewing power. Dental implants have full chewing power and implant-supported bridges or dentures also considerably increase the chewing power.
  • Progressive bone loss as a result of wearing dentures can cause facial collapse. Over the years bone loss can cause the collapse of the lower third of your face, creating excessive wrinkles, sagging skin and jowls, thinning lips and a sunken-in look. This can considerably age a persons appearance.
  • A bridge requires two usually healthy teeth to be cut down, which is not an ideal way of replacing a missing tooth compared to a dental implant. Bridges tend to have short lives, five to ten years, compared to a dental implant which can last a lifetime. So while a bridge can sometimes be more economical initially, in the long run a dental implant can cost you less.

I love seeing Monica for my cleaning. She is very gentle but also thorough and because of her, I've caught small problems before they become big ones. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

I had a very nice experience at Pasadena Periodontics. Starting with my very first phone call to the office, the staff was very friendly, efficient, and professional. My first visit couldn't have been more pleasant. I walked into a beautiful office and was greeted by a friendly receptionist, who checked me in quickly. I waited for about two minutes before a staff member gave me a tour of the back office, which I observed to be very nice and clean. Lastly, I met the Doctor. Dr. Henriod has a gentle and soothing personality, I felt very relaxed. He asked me about my concerns and explained how he was going to conduct the exam. After the exam, he communicated his findings and described in detail the procedure he would use to treat and correct my receding gum problem. He was very thorough, clear, and confident about his finding and recommendations. Needless to say, that I am going into my treatment with no doubt that the results will be excellent. I highly recommend this office to everyone.

I came here for consultation with intention to switch my specialist. My previous Dr is no longer excepting my insurance. I also consulted with other perio in Pasadena. The Dr was great however I didn't like the fact that they don't do twilight sedation during surgery. Luckily I found this new office in Pasadena The office is really nice. Building is gorgeous inside. The staff is really nice and professional. Everything was ready for my visit. I saw Dr Henriot. He's very gentle in the mouth, very attentive, compassionate, and most importantly very knowledgeable. It was a very pleasant visit. I will be moving my business here 100% . Today on 10/10/22 I had a procedure with Dr Henriod. Everyone in the office made me feel super comfortable and welcoming. The Dr and his assistant are exceptional. I was treated with top provider before and I can say that this office not only as good but even better. The Dr and his assistant knew my weaknesses and addresses them very well. I'm very impressed with the way I was cared for today. THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!! You definitely got my business and I highly recommend this office.

Oct 10,2022 Today I had the follow up visit after an extraction 2 weeks ago. I passed with flying colors. Actually I was a complicated case presenting with a broken root of molar post an old root canal years ago. Was able to get into care with Dr Henriod and his team at Pasadena Periodontics. My case was thoroughly accessed and a plan of care explained. I had an extraction with was completed without problems. I was very thankful for this as I had nightmare scenarios in my mind. Dr. Henriod has a very calm manner, and administered adequate analgesia and I no longer felt apprehensive. Thanks to Dr. Henriod and his team. O. Russell RN, MHA.
