For over thirty years of practice in Pasadena, we have always sought to provide the best in periodontal care for our patients. The moveto ournew office several yearsago allowed us to create a calm atmospherewith state of the art technical equipment. This has also provided us with the opportunity to do clinically based research.I have been fortunate in my professional career to be able to share knowledge with my colleagues and our practice has been a leader in dental education locally and nationally.
Dr. Charles received his D.D.S. from the University of Illinois and a Certificate in Periodontics from the University of Southern California. Following completion of his post-graduate education, he remained at U.S.C. for 7 years as an associate clinical professor and director of Junior and Senior Periodontal Clinics. He also taught in the graduate program at U.S.C.
Dr. Charlescurrently lectures on various topics related to periodontics, implant surgery, and periodontal microsurgery. He has presented to the American Dental Association, The California Dental Association,the American Academy of Periodontology, the California Society of Periodontists and the Western Society of Periodontology. More recently he has mentored three undergraduate dental interns from Boston University Dental School. He has also served on an advisory committee for a dental implant company and has developed instruments used in periodontal micro-surgery.
He has served as Trustee of the American Academy of Periodontology, representing the western United States and has been President of the California Society of Periodontists and the Western Society of Periodontology. In 1995, he was acknowledged for contributions to the specialty of periodontics and valuable public service.
On a national level, Dr. Charles has taught colleagues on the use of computer planning for implant surgery. Computer planning allows for the most accurate placement of dental implants in the least invasive manner. This results inthe ideal positioning of the implant as possible with the least discomfort for patients.
Dr. Charles has been invited to participate in The Dental Quality Alliance. This is a group that seeks to define the quality of dental care to be able to provide thebest in carefor patients.One hundredpeople were invited to Chicago for a meeting of the group. Invited back for a second meeting, personal commitments have prevented his attendance.
Providing quality patient care has been a passion of Dr. Morishita for 40 years. His philosophy has been to 'treat patients the way that he would want to be treated', with kindness and compassion. Throughout his career, Dr. Morishita has striven to provide the most up-to-date, evidence-based treatment. He uses all the current technology to be able to provide the best care for his patients.
Dr. Morishita completed his dental education at the University of California, Los Angeles with honors. He received his certificate in periodontics from the University of Southern California. He has been in practice limited to periodontics in Pasadena since 1976.
Dr. Sarvenaz Angha received her Bachelor degree in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of California Berkeley in 2000. She then earned a D.D.S. degree from the UCLA School of Dentistry and continued her education at UCLA as a Postdoctoral Resident in Periodontics and Implant Surgery, spending an additional three years, training with world-renowned professors in Periodontics.
Upon completion of her Postdoctoral program, Dr. Angha followed her life-long passion for education, dedicating her time to teaching as a Lecturer at UCLA School of Dentistry, where she has trained hundreds of dental students since 2007. In 2010, she was asked to teach at the Postdoctoral Periodontics Program at UCLA, as the youngest clinical Faculty joining her mentors.
To Dr. Angha, learning is an everlasting process and a personal and professional obligation to her patient care. Shes highly committed to remaining at the forefront of her field, and abreast with the newest scientific and technical advances. Dr. Angha devotes a significant amount of time to continuing education courses. Additionally, active involvement in periodontal education and organizations allows her to stay tuned for the continuous evolution taking place.
Dr. Angha has devoted her time, without any reservation, to learning about the science, the technical intricacy, and the art of periodontics. As an artist and art lover, she perceives her field as a bridge uniting art and science.
She has taken it upon herself to be a master clinician one who is competent to utilize the expertise and wisdom, and a compassionate healer who is capable of shifting focus from the disease or the condition to the individual. Dr. Angha strongly believes that taking a genuine interest in someone else's well-being makes any caregiver, regardless of his or her field of practice, a better diagnostician. Her practice philosophy focuses on promoting a proactive attitude and empowering her patients to make educated decisions in order to achieve healthy smiles, improve overall health, and lead a healthy lifestyle.
She is an advocate of public health awareness. She employs her passion for teaching both by training students in an academic environment and through patient education. She thoroughly discusses all clinical findings, contributing factors, and treatment options, to assist her patients in making the best decisions about their treatment. She is an expert in customizing treatment to each patients unique circumstances by tailoring innovative, yet predictable approaches to treatment, ranging from minimally invasive procedures to full-mouth rehabilitation.
Dr. Angha doesnt limit her personal growth to her career achievements. She thrives to live a full life, intellectually and culturally. Her involvement in various activities beyond dentistry has extensively broadened her understanding of the environment around her. She participates in various extracurricular activities including taking philosophy courses, organizing cultural shows, partaking in live performances/dances, and contributing to fundraising events. She loves spending time in nature, on the hiking trails or by the ocean. She is passionate about art, dance, and music. She believes in living a balanced active lifestyle, through taking Yoga, Pilates, Dance, and group fitness classes.
