Dr. Milton Chan has wanted to become an orthodontic specialist since he had braces as a child. He strives to help others feel as confident and healthy as possible, and to advance the field whenever he can.

He was also invited to join Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU), the national dental honor society. This honor is awarded to dental students who distinguish themselves in scholarship and demonstrate exemplary traits of character and potential for future professional growth and attainments.

But Dr. Chan did not want to stop at being a general dentist. Since the time he had braces as a child, he aspired to be an orthodontic specialist, so he continued his education at the USC Graduate Orthodontic Department, where in 1985, he received his Certificate in Orthodontics.

In 1994, Dr. Chan achieved his professional goal of specialty certification with the American Board of Orthodontics. He was then invited to teach in the USC Orthodontics graduate program as an assistant clinical professor, where he enjoys teaching residents the many practical tricks he has learned over the years. At USC, he has won several teaching awards and serves on an orthodontic support foundation for the department that he helped start.

Dr. Chan's professional activities include full membership in the prestigious Edward H. Angle Society of Orthodontists along with serving on the board of directors and being a past president of Angle Southern California.

He also enjoys participating in several interdisciplinary dental and orthodontic study clubs and is an active evaluator on orthodontic peer review committees. Wherever he contributes his time, he strives to promote excellence in orthodontics.

Dr. Chan is happily married and is blessed with both a son and a daughter. He lives in La Caada and is actively involved in his church's youth ministries. In his free time, he enjoys camping, hiking and fishing, along with traveling the world.

Dr. Babaan earned his Bachelors of Science degree in Psychobiology from the University of California, Los Angeles. From there, Dr. Babaan attended dental school at New York University College of Dentistry.

Dr. Babaan serves as a clinical instructor at UCLA and regularly participates in continuing education courses. This allows Dr. Babaan to provide his patients with the latest cutting-edge orthodontic technology and treatments.

His continued involvement in the academic community allows Dr. Babaan the privilege of speaking at local dental societies, presenting at national and global conferences, and present his research to current orthodontic residents at his own practice.

Dr. Babaan is also a dedicated husband and father. In his spare time, you can find him spending time with his wife and son, being involved in the local community, participating in church ministries, reading, and traveling.

I would highly recommend orthodontics with Dr. Chan and Dr. Babaan. The education, experience and professionalism of the office is unquestionable. I also really appreciate their kindness and flexibility-- it's great when they can fit me in on short notice for minor adjustments so my treatment can stay on track. Thanks team! Looking forward to seeing my final smile!

I have been seeing Dr. Milton Chan (and today, Dr. Rozheh Babaan) since June 2021. At a rather late stage in my life I needed braces--something that my granddaughters got quite a kick out of--and Dr. Chan was recommended as the best in Pasadena. Indeed he is! I have been going once a month since last June and he is gentle, kind, professional and has made this whole process as comfortable as is possible. I also want to commend his entire staff; they are very polite, kind, funny while also being excellent at their jobs. They all make what can be a difficult time a lot easier and more comfortable. Thank you all for everything you have done and for being so patient every time I need to make a change!

Love love love Dr. Chan and everyone in the office. They are always courteous and try to accommodate you as much as possible. I was probably one of their biggest pain in the side patient's. I moved to California after my braces were put on by another orthodontist. I am also moving to North Carolina before I was "technically" supposed to have them removed. Dr. Chan worked his magic and I am able to move with perfect teeth! I'm excited to be able to start my new career with more confidence. It was worth it. I can't thank them enough.

I have had braces and retainers placed and have had yearly checkups with Dr. Chan and his staff for over 35 years. Each time I have an appointment, I feel most welcome and obtain exceptional care and service. If I have a special issue or need immediate attention, they are always most responsive. The office is beautifully decorated and appointed with utmost cleanliness. I am so grateful to have access to such a superb doctor and staff.

This guy is a racist. If you have children, be wary of putting them into his care. He was my childhood orthodontist. He would put in incorrectly sized materials and then painfully pull them off. I saw chunks of my own gums on the tray. He advised unnecessary extractions, leaving me with 4 fewer teeth than I should have as an adult... much to the dismay of my current dentists. He chastised me for brushing wrong without redirection or guidance. He criticized my admission to a highly regarded school, of course without knowing anything about my academics since he was my dentist and it wasn't his business. Not to mention subtle racial remarks that even I, as a child, could pick up on. I wish I knew that kind of treatment was wrong at the time but I was taught by my parents to respect adults. I seriously thought I was doing something wrong. I was probably 10 years old. Hygienists were always nice, though. Too bad the experience gave me serious dental anxiety.

Dr. Chan is the best orthodontist ever! He is super attentive and kind. His staff is friendly and is always available to answer any of my questions. My son has had such a positive experience with his braces and that says a lot. I highly recommend Dr. Chan!!

I love Dr. Chan and his staff! He does wonderful work, and, his staff are the kindest people you'd ever want to meet. I came in after having had several surgeries on my leg. His staff always listened to me with compassion; I felt as though he and his staff were part of my family, and, I believe their kindness and prayers helped in my healing.

I love the staff here. They are accommodating in scheduling (in case of emergencies), and very friendly and gentle. Dr. Chan has a conservative approach in most areas and sticking to a treatment plan that isn't excessively long. I'd recommend this place!

I had braces put on when I was very young at a different orthodontist.... twice. Naturally at a young age I was irresponsible and lost 2 sets of retainers. My teeth almost immediately reverted back to their crooked, overcrowded positions. As an adult, I wanted to fix them again (for good this time), but I really didn't want braces. I had searched high and low on the internet for some easier, highly gimmicky, solutions. I mentioned to my mom about it and she brought up Dr. Chan and said I should just try a consultation. I didn't want to because I assumed he was going to make me get braces again. But she insisted and I'm very glad she did. Dr. Chan listened to everything I wanted to get from my teeth and understood that I didn't want the pain of braces. He came up with the brilliant solution of creating a new retainer. It had a spacer to give my teeth some wiggle room and 2 springs to push my teeth forward that were activated after the spacer made enough room. It worked like a charm. My teeth are straight as a board again without the pain or annoying braces. Thank you Dr. Chan for my beautiful straight teeth!!!

Dr. Chan became visibly annoyed when I told him that I did not want to follow the implant option for my daughter, but that I preferred the other options he presented for her treatment. Clearly, he is a huge fan of implants for kids. Regardless, he should have respected my decision for my child. He also repeatedly chastised me for not bringing her in sooner for treatment, even after I asked him not to after the first two times he made such comments and made it clear that I was advised by another orthodontist to "wait it out". Very disappointing.

Dr Chan is a first-rate orthodontist whose technical expertise is second to none! I'm an orthodontist who have seen his patients that were treated 10, 20 years ago and their teeth still look perfect (they moved to my area and needed new retainers). He's a soft spoken gentleman who knows how to put teeth where they belong for optimal esthetics and function! He'll probably never tell you that he's board certified by the American Board of Orthodontics and an Angle member because of his modesty, but believe you me that fewer than 5% of all orthodontists can claim these honors.
