Dr. Shawn Dial is a graduate of Grand Valley State University and the University of Michigan (1999). Studying occlusion and Temporomandibular Joint Disease (TMJD) at the Dawson Center, she is also a member of the American Dental Association, Michigan Dental Association and the Western Michigan District Dental Society. An active participant in Childrens Dental Health Month, Dr. Dial enjoys travel and photography when shes away from the office.
Dr. Matthew Gietzen completed his undergraduate studies at Denison University before earning his D.D.S. from the University of Michigan (2005) Dr. Gietzen also volunteers with the Western Michigan Dental Foundation. Most recently, Grand Rapids Magazine readers named Dr. Matthew Gietzen the Best Dentist of Grand Rapids in 2010. Hes a member of the Western Michigan District Dental Society, American Dental Association, Michigan Dental Association and the Kent County Dental Society. Residing in Grand Rapids, Dr. Gietzens hobbies include traveling, reading, golf and downhill skiing.
Dr. Steve Grabiel earned a kinesiology degree from Michigan State University. He also graduated from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry in 2013. He is a member of the American Dental Association and the Michigan Dental Association.
Dr. Grabiel is from Birmingham, Michigan and now resides in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He met his wife, Lisa, at MSU who is originally from Grand Rapids. They have three daughters. They love to cook together and garden. Dr. Grabiel also loves to water-ski, snow ski, and go fly fishing.
As you may know, Dr. Vander Kolk was a partner in our practice for 15 years before leaving 12 years ago to dedicate himself full time to providing care to people in need, both locally and in other countries around the world. We are very excited to have Dr. Vander Kolk rejoin our practice!

I have been a patient of theirs since around 1970. Dr. Cook and Gietzen were early doctors there. Now it's Dr. Dial. They have always treated me kindly and given me excellent care.

I had my first appointment with Partners In Dental at the end of February and it was FANTASTIC! I have a fear of the dentist and my hygienist Alyssa made my fears disappear. They take the time to explain everything that's happening during the appointment and actually educate you. Dr. Steve was great as well. He took the time to find out what was most important to me as far as my dental care goes and made me feel at home. I highly recommend this office! Great experience, better people!

I've never liked the dentist and have avoided finding a dentist for the past 3+ years. I finally made my first appointment at Partners in Dental Care about 6 months ago and I'm so glad I did! Dr. Steve and Alyssa have taken exceptional care of me each time I've come in and have made the experience comfortable and enjoyable. I'd have to give this place two thumbs up!

Connected to how you are doing and making it comfortable for the patient while explaining everything happening. Aftercare is second to none, he called me to make sure I was okay and recommended the best care for me after the procedure.

I have been going to Partners In Dental Care for more years then I can count! I always receive "Top Notch" Professional Care! The Doctors, Hygienists, Dental Techs as well as the Office Staff are "Fantastic"! In addition to being "Knowledgeable and Friendly" the Physical Atmosphere is Five Star ! I was referred here by my partner after he became increasingly worried about the state of my teeth. Due to a combination of bad genetics and bad dentists, my teeth were not very good. I also experienced a lot of trauma at previous dentists growing up and was really afraid of coming here. I was terrified I would undergo more trauma and have my concerns disregarded as before. However, from the very start they were responsive and immediately sent me paperwork to get started. They had an entire section asking for previous experiences and took extra care to make sure I was comfortable and ready before they did anything. They also check during the procedures to make sure I'm doing okay. They go over everything they are doing and make sure I understood what was needed to be done. Although the work is pretty extensive, they broke it down so it's easier to manage and price-wise, it's not bad at all. They even gave me a special toothpaste to help my teeth heal and be protected. What really sealed my admiration was my experience yesterday. I had a filling from my previous dentist fall out suddenly and was experiencing some pain. My partner called them and they wanted to get me in right then, but we agreed on the following morning. I was not even expecting to get in for weeks! I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. I am so grateful for all they have done. I can finally eat harder foods and sweets again due to sensitivity already diminishing, and I am much more comfortable smiling. I'm so excited to get my teeth to the best state they've ever been in and look forward to going to the dentist now!

Everyone is very professional and kind. Procedures are explained step by step by Dr. Gietzen and the hygienists and every effort is made to help the patient feel comfortable. They also accommodate my large family which is hugely appreciated!
