For Dr. Gabriel K. Harr, the decision to make dentistry a career started during time spent in Alaska shadowing his uncle who owned a dental practice. He fell in love with the art of dentistry and how it intersected with being able to help people. His experiences with his own dentist were also memorable: We used to play early morning basketball together, and he always wore a mouthguard; I thought it was funny at the time but soon I learned the importance of protecting your teeth!
Dr. Harr graduated from Missouri State University with a major in biology and minors in both Chemistry and Russian Language. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery qualification at University of Missouri Kansas. He says he chose to work and live in Salina thanks to the family friendly community and the chance to work in a practice dedicated to advanced dentistry. He says he loves every part of his job, but cosmetic dentistry is a particular joy thanks to seeing what happiness a new smile can bring.
I was able to work with one particular woman who had highly stained and broken-down teeth, and provided her with veneers. It was very rewarding to see the difference it made in her smile as well as her confidence! Dr. Harr remembers, adding, My ideal patient is one who wants to improve their oral health, no matter what state it is in when they start.
When hes not creating confident new smiles, Dr. Harr can be found spending time with his wife, Janessa, and the couples four children, Aubrey, Madeline, Britton, and Brody preferably in a boat on any lake in the vicinity. He also enjoys fishing, hiking, basketball, and playing the guitar. An Eagle Scout himself, Dr. Harr strongly supports the local scouting program.

Had a tooth extraction, Dr. Harr and assistant where patient, explained everything to me, and I couldn't even feel it. Later that afternoon Dr. Harr himself called to check on me. I recommend Parkwood Family Dental. 2/22/21. Had my teeth cleaned today, procedures were taking to stay safe with Covid-19. And everyone was so polite, kind, and gentle, it was a pleasure. Thanks Dr Harr and team. 9/19 Another pleasant routine check up. Fast friendly check in, fantastic dental hygienist, and the new dentist, Dr. Jay, was very nice. Thanks Dr. Jay and team .
