Dr. Semrau has over 40 years of experience as a dentist and has been serving our community by providing exceptional dental care since 2008. He developed an interest in dentistry at a young age and was determined to fulfill his dream.
After serving with the United States Navy aboard a submarine, he paid for his education through the GI Bill. Dr. Semrau graduated from dental school from the Marquette University in 1972 and opened his first practice in California in 2007, after which he moved to Kalispell in 2008. He continues his education every year by spending over 25 hours on courses, often at the University of Southern California and the University of California, Los Angeles.
He is laser certified and is a member of the American Dental Association and the Montana Dental Association. Additionally, Dr. Semrau was proud to be featured in the Montana Womens Magazine Men of Integrity article, detailing his life, accomplishments and contributions to our community.
Dr. Semraus goal as a dentist is to help patients get optimal dental care in a competent and caring manner. Today, as the owner of Parkway Family Dental, he is proud to meet the needs of our community with comprehensive dental care that is both compassionate and state of the art.
Tracy joined our practice in 2017 and worked part time to occasionally sub for our hygienist until 2020, when she started with us full time. She graduated in 1991 from Georgia Southern University, formerly Armstrong State College, with an associate degree in dental hygiene.
Tracy appreciates our awesome teamwork and the relaxed, caring atmosphere at our office and contributes to our success by implementing her many years of dental experience, including eight years working strictly periodontal.
Karlene became a part of our practice in August of 2016 but joined us full time in May of 2020. She graduated from the University of South Dakota and is laser certified. Karlene believes that Dr. Semrau is one of the last classic dentists, those who are compassionate in regard to their patients dental care as well as their overall well-being. She finds joy in being a part of a dental team that comes together and is dedicated to our patients care, and she works hard to serve our patients to meet their needs and make them feel valued.
Her joy as a hygienist shines through with her enthusiasm and her smile. Her professionalism and ability to listen helps patients feel comfortable and at ease. Her thorough work and gentle touch are characteristic of her care, and Karlene finds that being a hygienist is both fulfilling and rewarding.
Karlene is Montana born and raised. One of the best things to ever happen to her was becoming a mom; she has been blessed with three beautiful kids. When not in office, she enjoys many adventures: camping, hiking, listening to live bands, fine dining and paddleboarding.
Mary joined us in July of 2020. She gained her undergraduate degree in political science and environmental policy from Carleton College and later went to gain her masters degree in international and intercultural management from the School for International Training.
Mary loves meeting and getting to know our patients! It is a privilege to work closely with Dr. Semrau, who has an amazing and impressive ability to connect so personally and authentically with each and every patient who enters our door! She assists our doctor with all chairside procedures and works together with a wonderful team of assistants and hygienist to prepare for and optimize the best possible experience for our patients.
Megan has been with us the since July of 2012! She is a graduate of the dental program at Salish Kootenai College, where she trained to be a dental assistant in 2011 and completed the 24-month course in only 11 months!
Erica became a part of our practice in December of 2020. She graduated from the University of Montana in 2014. She loves our family atmosphere and the sound of laughter in our office, and she is very grateful to be working in such a supportive, family-centered environment with a great team. She tries her best to help patients understand their care needs and strategizes how best to use their insurance benefits. She also helps us track down insurance payouts so that we get paid!
Erica has been with her husband, Andrew, for over eight years, and together they have three boys. When not in the office, she loves baking and trying all kinds of different recipes for dinner. She paints when she has free time and loves spending time with her family, friends and dogs.
