Parkway Dental, we've been here serving our community in Snellville. For over 30 years the practice has been here. I've been with the practice for 10 years. Dr. Patel's been here for five years. I think to be a dentist it's a great combination of a lot of skill. You have to be competent clinically, you have to care for the patient, and you have to have an artistic side to you. I think all of those things are really what drew me into dentistry. Yes, I have family that are dentists as well, but a combination of all of those things, and able to see patients who for one reason or another neglected their dental care, didn't have the finances before, or were just outright afraid of coming, that we can get them in, show them some tremendous, cost-effective options to revitalize their smile its really, really rewarding. We have a tremendous, we have great patients in this practice. Honestly, I love all of our patients, and the ones that have seen the largest transformations are the ones that came in scared, nervous, had a bad experiences in another office, unfortunately were shipped to multiple offices as we mentioned before, but Dr. Patel and myself do a lot of stuff in-house here. But the ability for us to do all of those things and transform the patients smile in a short period of time very rewarding.

Dr. Ashish Vakharia is a young, motivated dental health care provider dedicated to serving the population of Snellville, GA and the surrounding areas with the best of his abilities. Dr. Vakharia joined a private practice in order to provide top-notch care, be flexible in his treatment plans, and give his patients the options they deserve.

Dr. Vakharia was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA. After completing his undergraduate degree in biology and chemistry at the University of Pittsburgh, he went on to study dentistry at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine and the University of Puerto Rico School of Dentistry. His experience studying in Puerto Rico allows him to better serve and connect with Spanish-speaking patients.

Originally born and raised in Pittsburgh. I did my undergraduate in Pittsburgh as well. My dental training was from both the University of Pittsburgh, and the University of Puerto Rico School of Dental Medicine. I have three older cousins who are actually dentists in North and South Carolina, so they were a big factor in guiding me into dentistry. It has a great work-life balance.

Dr. Vakharia is dedicated to continuing his education in order to provide even better care to his patients, often doubling the amount of required hours. He was recently honored to be included in Benco Dentals Top 40 Under 40 list, an achievement that included a weekend photo and video shoot in New York City and a print feature in Benco Dentals Incisal Edge magazine. While in school, Dr. Vakharia also received the American Academy of Dental Practice Administrations award for the top senior student in clinical practice and practice management.

Dr. Vakharia is also dedicated to giving back, having completed more than 400 hours of volunteer dentistry at various clinics throughout the country. Compassion, competence, and a caring attitude are qualities valued in his practice.

My background really stems from an intrigue for the sciences, a lot of hands-on type activities. Grew up in Florida in the Tampa region and have two uncles who are physicians, a brother who's a vascular surgeon, so I was always gravitating towards the health care field, had that privilege to be around them. I chose dentistry, had a great relationship with my personal dentist. I play quite a bit of tennis with him, beyond my competitive career, and really just liked the lifestyle, the balance that it offered and the relationships that can be built with patients on a routine basis, as opposed to emergency needs that I saw going to see my family in their health care environments as physicians. My educational background was completed at the University of Florida. I did my undergraduate studies and graduate school there under the early admissions seven-year program that they offered, whereby I gained entry into dental school, actually, as a high school senior, which was very rewarding for myself as I knew I wanted to become a dentist.

As a dentist serving the greater Gwinnett area, Dr. Amit Patel is dedicated to helping you enhance your health and smile by offering the latest dental procedures and materials available at Parkway Dental. He appreciates that it can be challenging for people choosing a dentist to find one with a good bedside manner and who is in sync with their dental goals and personal dilemmas. Dr. Patel is dedicated to educating each patient that he sees and helping them to set realistic expectations of each treatment option available in order to allow the patient to choose the best dental treatment plan available for them. The practice has financial options and several sedation methods to treat each patient comfortably and in a timely manner.

Dr. Amit Patel was raised in the Tampa, Florida area and completed his Bachelors Degree and Doctor of Dental Medicine program at the University of Florida. He had extensive training in specialty areas as well as a program in the United Kingdom to further his dental expertise. Dr. Patel has completed over 800 hours of Continuing Education which demonstrates his commitment to lifelong learning and providing his patients leading-edge treatment. Dr. Patel additionally in involved in organized dentistry and serves on the National PACE Council within the Academy of General Dentistry regarding continuing education approval for dentists nationwide. He was recently named to the Georgia AGD executive board this past year as well. He lives locally with his wife Ekta, a corporate banker, and their energetic two-year old daughter Anjali.

Donna has 20 years of experience in the dental field. In her four years at Parkway Dental, she has enjoyed working alongside such friendly, helpful staff members. Donna loves working with patients to ensure they are getting the most out of their insurance benefits. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, sewing, crafts, and spending time with her family.

Donna has almost 30 years of experience in the dental field. Her job is to discuss treatment options with the patients and help them understand the procedures. During her three years at Parkway Dental, she has enjoyed being a part of changing patients lives. In her spare time, Donna enjoys camping, white water rafting, and zip lining.

Wendy has been with Parkway Dental for 30 years. Her job is to prepare the treatment rooms and help patients understand the procedure. She loves working with the other staff members at Parkway Dental and helping patients achieve the smiles they deserve. In her spare time, Wendy enjoys hunting, fishing, hiking, and gardening.

Cindy has been with Parkway Dental for 19 years. She enjoys working with patients to help them feel as comfortable as possible. She also enjoys helping them achieve a healthy, beautiful smile. In her free time, Cindy enjoys scrapbooking, playing tennis, spending time with her son, and cooking.

Jessica has been with Parkway Dental for three years. She loves making sure patients are well taken care of. She loves seeing smiles on their faces! In her free time, Jessica enjoys running, biking, shopping, baking, and eating at new restaurants. She also loves spending time with her husband and with her church group.

Crystal has about 11 years of experience in the dental field. In her five years at Parkway Dental, she has enjoyed making a difference in her patients lives by improving their oral health and self-esteem. Outside of work, Crystal enjoys spending time with her family, exercising, and traveling.

Gwen has more than 30 years of experience in the dental field. In her five years at Parkway Dental, she has enjoyed providing patients with a positive dental experience during their cleanings. She also loves to help educate patients about their dental needs. Gwen and the Parkway Dental team do everything possible to make sure patients are comfortable during their visit. In her spare time, Gwen enjoys reading, sewing, and spending time with her family.

Rebekah has been with Parkway Dental for four years. She loves working with patients to help educate and motivate them to achieve good home hygiene habits. Outside of work, Rebekah enjoys hiking, kayaking, spending time with family, going to church, cooking, and working out at the gym.

Rhonda has been with Parkway Dental for four years. She enjoys meeting new people and helping patients regain their smiles. In her free time, Rhonda enjoys teaching trumpet lessons, gardening, cooking, sewing, quilting, and spending time with her two daughters and seven chihuahuas.

Myself and Dr. Vakharia have both sat in the dental chairs, so we have an understanding of what patients feel as they're here presenting for dental visits and their own treatment. As far as anxiety reduction and just dental phobia, we're able to offer quite an array of options to supplement their dental visit, as far as comfort from music, comfort of blankets, pillows, as well as (inaudible), which we will use to just give them a more relaxed feeling during some of the treatment in a very safe manner. In addition, if patients are triage and have a need for more complex treatment, the ability for some form of sedation to give that anxiety reduction in a comfortable manner can also be resolved here in our office.

When we moved into our new facility about five years ago, we wanted to make sure everything we had here was absolutely state-of-the-art. We are not ones to jump on the bandwagon and buy the newest and latest technology, but we want to see there is a proven track record prior to investing in something that we hopefully want to utilize for our patients for years to come.

The first thing that we have is digital X-rays. Your traditional film X-rays of the past are no longer there. We can now take with a small digital sensor. None of that old, bulky film that most patients were used to. We can get an X-ray image of your entire mouth in less than five to seven minutes. It's instantaneous. It shows up right on the screen.

Again, that's part of the other thing. Each operatory has a 20-inch monitor in there that the patient is able to look at. We can show the X-ray directly up on the screen and explain any conditions or areas of concern that we may notice.

In conjunction with the digital X-rays, we have several intraoral cameras. We take pictures of every single patient that comes in here of almost their entire mouth. We show them where their current state, so that way if there are any changes as they're a patient of ours, we can go back to a phone and say, 'This is where we were at last year. You've been grinding a lot. This area has broken down or this tooth has broken down. It's time that we look to address this before it becomes a painful or costlier problem.'

Another option that we have as far as our technology is that we utilize, we utilize a laser. Both Dr. Patel and myself have taken significant laser training. We have a tremendous tool now that allows a patient to get procedures which usually would take days or weeks to recover from, they can now recover in a matter of 24 hours ... instantaneous clotting, minimal bleeding, and minimal discomfort. In some cases, we're even able to do cavities without any anesthetic and by use of the laser.

In order to best serve our patients, we keep up with the latest in dental technology. We employ the use of digital X-rays, intraoral cameras, hard and soft tissue laser technology, rotary endodontic technology, implant surgery, Invisalign, ViziLite oral cancer screenings, and more. This technology, especially our intraoral cameras and digital X-rays, has allowed us to let our patients have an interactive role in their education and treatment.
