Dr. Clayton T. Parks is a graduate of the University of Iowa, where he earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery, Master of Science, and certificate in orthodontics. He became certified by the American Board of Orthodontics in 2005 and recertified in 2020.
Dr. Parks and his wife Kim have two grown children, John and Lindsay. They live in rural Cedar Rapids with their two Australian Shepherds. Dr. Parks enjoys treating children, adolescents, and adults. He has special interests in clear aligner therapy, orthognathic surgery and temporary implant anchorage.
In addition to being an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Orthodontics at the University of Iowa, he is a member of numerous prestigious dental organizations and served as president of the Linn County Dental Society in 2010. Dr. Schmit is a member of the following organizations:

I absolutely had the best time here. Everyone was so nice and so gentle. I loved how there was never a dull moment while I was at my appointments. I alwayed looked forward to going to my orthodontist appointments it was my favorite thing to do instead of going to school. The staff at Parks, Schmit, and fuller really made a big effort to make you feel comfortable! Thank you to everyone who helped work on giving me a beautiful smile. And to everyone who did not get the chance to I also want to say thanks for helping the other people achive a great smile. You all are truly amazing! I'm gonna miss seeing you every month!

From our very first day, Parks, Schmit & Fuller Orthodontics staff has been nothing short of amazing, friendly, organized and welcoming. My son purposely smiles with his mouth closed, the doctors immediately understood how important correcting his teeth was and did everything they could to start the process for him quickly. The enthusiasm the team had when placing his brackets really set the tone for how excited my son was/is! I highly recommend these Orthodontists!

Both our children have been/ are still in braces and have been patients of Dr. Schmit. We have had a great experience and for our oldest we had to take a long road that included jaw surgery. We felt well informed and cared for by all the staff with great care during both journeys and have appreciated the front office staff for answering all our insurance related questions. Having the Marion location so close to home has also been a huge plus! We highly recommend if you or a family member are in need of creating your best smile!

This was our first experience with braces. Our son is 13 and was very nervous , so were Mom and Dad! The staff and Dr. Fuller were amazing! The braces are on and our son is happy! We also needed to visit the surgery side and Dr. FIuller was also wonderful! We highly recommend Parks, Schmit & Fuller Orthodontics!

I love all the people here- so friendly and so cheerful. The offices are so clean and bright. I love the care I recieve every appointment. A huge plus is getting in quickly when I have an issue come up within my treatment. I've always felt confident after walking out of each visit knowing the end result will be great.

My daughter has had to have a top set of braces and then a full set top and bottom set. The entire staff have been nothing short of amazing. She loves going and has done very well with taking care of them. I would not go any where else. They treat you like family.

The people who work here are absolutly amazing, they always made me feel comfortable and I genuinly enjoyed coming to my appointments! I was unsure about getting braces at first but then two of the employees talked me into it and its one of the best choices ive made!

Dr Fuller is amazing, along with everyone else there! They always make me feel so much better about myself every time I'm in there and have built my confidence up so much since starting my treatment! And best of all my smile is amazing!

I would give a zero star if I could. So I got referred here from my dentist I had missed one appointment due to a funeral in my home town in New York. So I called to reschedule they said they had to ask the doctor if he would see me and would call me back a month later I called to ask they had no answer a month later I called back they had no answer. 6 months went by no answer finally he says no he can't see me due to missing an appointment for a funeral. I think it's the rudest thing to make me wait so long for an answer they never called me back I had to call them ! The whole experience with them was terrible!!!!!!!

At 51, I never thought I would be getting braces again, but here I am. Let me say that at Parks and Schmit the process was so much easier than my first experience. I was in and out of the office in about an hour. The staff was kind, knowledgeable and professional. I highly recommend this facility.
