Dr. Jorey E. Parkhurst is a native of Jamestown, NC. He earned his Bachelor's degree in biology from Southern College of Seventh Day Adventists in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He then returned to North Carolina and received his DDS (Doctor of Dental Surgery) from the UNC School of Dentistry in Chapel Hill in 1992.
His love of the coast was fostered while vacationing with his parents and brought him to southeastern North Carolina after dental school. Initially working as an associate dentist with Dr. John Madison in Shallotte, he was asked to join Dr. Jack Wilhelm and his growing family dental practice in Wilmington. After Dr. Wilhelm's retirement, he became senior partner of Parkhurst and Belisle Family Dentistry.
Dr. Parkhurst is a member of the American Dental Association, the North Carolina Dental Society, and a charter member of the Wilmington Spear Study Club. He has volunteered with the Tileston Dental Clinic of Saint Mary's Catholic Church and has served on the board and as a volunteer with the Brunswick Family Assistance Agency.
Dr. Whitney Belisle grew up on a farm in northwest Iowa. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in English from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa in 1998. She then attended the University of Iowa College of Dentistry, where she graduated with her DDS in 2002. Immediately after graduating, Dr. Belisle furthered her education with a residency in general dentistry at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. This residency provided her with advanced training in the treatment of medically compromised and disabled patients.
In 2003, Dr. Belisle moved to Wilmington, NC with her husband Brandon. They were drawn to the area because of the beautiful beaches and mild climate. She began working in private practice in 2003. Her son Noah was born in 2004 and her daughter Hadley was born in 2009.
Dr. Belisle is a member of the American Dental Association and the North Carolina Dental Society. She enjoys spending her spare time with her husband and children. Her hobbies include reading and playing tennis.

I began with this practice nearly 30 years ago when Dr. Parkhurst was new. Dr. Belisle is a great addition as both doctors are talented, thorough, and gentle. This is also true of my hygienist, Karen with whom I've shared hilarious conversations, perfect for forgetting you're in the chair.

I love this office! The staff are always friendly and professional. I really appreciate the ability to schedule a later appointment on Tuesdays. They do a great job with cleanings. Very gentle but get the job done! Thanks for all you do!

Just a heads up that this dental office will not advise you, prior to being treated, of any costs not covered by insurance. My husband was charged 3 separate times for visits, AFTER VISITS, and sent to an oral surgeon who took one look at his teeth and agreed the purpose of the referral was worthless. So another $90 later, as an upfront cost, and 4 visits later we have paid out-of-pocket over $200 WITH FULL DENTAL INSURANCE COVERAGE. When we called billing to address this and get some clarification, the manager was completely rude and continued to cut me off when I tried to explain the frustration. There are WAY BETTER dental practices in the area. Go somewhere where they deserve your business and where ppl are treated with respect.

I've been going to this office for several years! I love them. Everyone is always super nice, appointments run on time, and the hygienist doesn't make my gums bleed

I have been visiting Dr Parkhurst and Dr Belisle since 2003/2004 and have not thought about leaving a review until today, I seem to need more than frequent "dental care" compared to the average patient. The latest visit was due to a chipped tooth while playing with a overly friendly puppy. I called yesterday for an appointment and the staff was able to find time to fix my chipped tooth today. Dr Belisle and Brooke fixed my tooth (front incisor) and actually I think my smile is better today than before the tooth was chipped!

The practice of Parkhurst & Belisle, DDS is wonderful. Dr. Jorey Parkhurst and hygienist, Dawn Hansen are wonderful. The cleaning was one of the best I have had. She was very gentle. Dr. Parkhurst was very thorough and conservative in his approach. I love that about him. The staff is very friendly and efficient. They were able to schedule appointments quickly. Best dental office I have ever been to. The staff is always very happy, helpful, and welcoming! They are always able to work you in within a day or two. They will file your insurance for you, and they except several different insurance carriers. Absolutely love this dental practice, I hope you will too!
