Dr. Matthew M. Parker was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. Upon graduation from Oak Hills High School, Dr. Parker attended Wabash College and the University of Aberdeen in Scotland. In 1995, Dr. Parker received a Bachelor of Arts in History and Chemistry, magna cum laude, from Wabash College in Crawfordsville, Indiana.
Dr. Parker attended the Ohio State University College of Dentistry, where he was active in student research and received Deans list recognition. In 2000, Dr. Parker received his doctorate in dental surgery and accepted a residency position from the University of Alabama-Birmingham and the Birmingham Veterans Administration Hospital. While in Birmingham, Dr. Parker received extensive training in the surgical and non-surgical treatment of periodontal disease, intravenous sedation, and dental implant placement. In 2003, Dr. Parker was awarded certificates in Periodontology from both the University of Alabama School of Dentistry and the Birmingham Veterans Administration Hospital.
During the summer of 2003, Dr. Parker and his wife, Emily, reported to Naval Air Station Whidbey Island to serve in the U. S. Navy Dental Corps. While stationed at Naval Hospital Oak Harbor, Dr. Parker served as Head of the Department of Periodontology and Preventative Dentistry. Dr. Parker and his team were responsible for the periodontal care of 8,500 Sailors and Marines who frequently deployed to both Afghanistan and Iraq. For his efforts, Dr. Parker was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation medal at the conclusion of his tour of duty.
In 2003, Dr. Parker achieved board certification in Periodontology from the American Board of Periodontology. In 2009, Dr. Parker received the N. Wayne Hiatt Rising StarAward for leadership from the Ohio Dental Association. He is an active member of the American Academy of Periodontology, the American Dental Association, the Ohio Dental Association, and the Cincinnati Dental Society. Among his numerous local responsibilities,Dr. Parker serves as a Board Member of the Cincinnati Oral Health Foundation and served as thePresident of the Cincinnati Dental Society in 2016. In 2019, Dr. Parker was the recipient of the Cincinnati Dental Society Meritorious Service Award.
Before returning to Cincinnati in 2007, Dr. Parker operated periodontal practices in Oak Harbor, Washington and Asheville, North Carolina where he gained valuable experience in all phases of periodontal and dental implant care. Dr. Parker serves as an educational leader for local dentists as the President of the Eastside Dental Study Club and hisSpear Dental Study Club.
Dr. Michael Vieth was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and raised in Eastgate with his parents and three siblings. He graduated from Saint Xavier High School and then moved to Columbus, Ohio to attend the Ohio State University. Dr. Vieth graduated magna cum laude in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and a minor in Psychology. He stayed in Columbus to attend the Ohio State College of Dentistry and graduated in 2018. Upon graduation, Dr. Vieth was awarded the American Academy of Periodontology Dental Student Award and inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society.
Following dental school graduation, Dr. Vieth moved to San Antonio, Texas with his wife, Katie, to pursue training in periodontics and implant dentistry at the University of Texas Health School of Dentistry. During residency, Dr. Vieth was trained in all aspects of periodontal and dental implant care and published research on methods to improve patient comfort following dental care. Following graduation, Dr. Vieth was thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Dr. Parker and his team at Parker Periodontics and Implant Dentistry.
Dr. Vieth is excited to be back in his hometown of Cincinnati and close to his friends and family. He and Katie are returning with their dog Ryder, an Australian Shephard from a rescue in Texas. In his free time, Dr. Vieth can be found exploring by foot or bike on all of the wonderful trails Cincinnati has to offer. Additionally, he and Katie enjoy camping and exploring state and national parks.
