Dr. Amy Parker has helped hundreds of children maintain their healthy smiles over nearly 30 years as a children's dentist in Southfield, Michigan.
Amy Parker DDS, MS believes that children should see a childrens dentist and she remains committed to caring for childrens teeth in a clean, comfortable and welcoming environment. Since 1984 after receiving her Certificate of Pediatric Dentistry and Master of Science degree from the University of Detroit Dr. Parker has established herself as one of the premier pediatric dentists in Michigan.
Previously, Dr. Parker earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Georgetown University, Washington D.C. in 1982, after receiving her Bachelors degree from the University of Michigan.In addition to her private practice as a Pediatric Dental Specialist since 1984, Dr. Parker has also served as an attending Dentist at Childrens Hospital of Michigan for over 33 years, where she also held the title of Clinical Instructor of Dental Residents, until 2004.Former Michigan Governor Jennifer Grandholm appointed Dr. Parker to the Michigan Board of Dentistry in 2004 where she served for four years.
Dr. Parker holds numerous local, state and national certifications, including Northeast Regional Board since 1982 and Specialty Board for Pediatric Dentistry in the State of Michigan since 1984. She received Diplomate and Fellow status of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry since 1992. Dr. Parker also has served as a spokesperson for the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.In her spare time, Dr. Parker enjoys golf, tennis, art, piano and jazz. She currently holds memberships in the American Dental Association, the
Pediatric Dentist, Dr. Maegan E. Daughtery,a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. Her interest in pediatric dentistry was cultivated at a young age, and it never swayed.
Dr. Daughtery graduated from Michigan State University after earning her Bachelors of Science Degree in 2006. She then worked in a pediatric dental office for three years with Dr. Amy Parker! During this time, she was not only exposed to both the business and the clinical aspects of pediatric dentistry, but also she was mentored on how to be one of the best.
In 2014, she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree (DDS) from Meharry Medical College - School of Dentistry in Nashville, Tennessee. While at Meharry, she earned several notable honors and awards, such as but not limited to; a Deans List Scholar and the yearly scholarship recipient of awards from the National Dental Association/The Colgate Palmolive Company. She then went on to complete her specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry at the MetroHealth Hospital/Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. While specialty training, she intensely focused on pediatric clinical and hospital dentistry services to include conscious sedation, dental surgery, and emergency services to name a few.
After successful completion of the pediatric dentistry residency, Dr. Daughtery returned to Detroit, Michigan to provide the same extraordinary dental experience that she remembered as a child. She currently holds memberships in and is in good standing with the American Dental Association, Michigan Dental Association, Michigan Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the National Dental Association, Wolverine Dental Society, American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, and the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
David C. Secord DDS, MShas been practicing Orthodontics in Michigan, as a licensed specialist since 1978. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Arts degree and received his DDS degree from the University of Detroit Dental School. After practicing General Dentistry for 2 years, he then attended Northwestern University for his specialty degree in Orthodontics. While practicing Orthodontics, Dr. Secord has also taught at the University of Detroit post graduate Orthodontic program.

I am serious about my son's dental health. The dental hygienists and dentist have an awesome bedside manner. I love that they answered my questions and educated me on how I can best care for my son. Highly recommend

I've read alot of reviews and I have had some of the same experiences. I will say that today I noticed the young man at the front desk doesn't check in patients anymore. He is on the check out side of the office. The wait time was extremely better than previous visits. I started taking my oldest child when she was 5 or 6 and she's currently 17. I have two sons who also come here for dental care. I can say I haven't had issues with referrals and follow-up care but the next appointment is always atleast 6 months out and that's a long time for follow-up care. A better system of time being set aside for follow-up treatments should be made. Today I noticed the form had ext.5 and the receptionist only mentioned whitening of two teeth. The "ext." refers to teeth being pulled which I knew was the reason for this visit but she never said what todays visit entailed in full detail. That was unprofessional. I can agree with the extremely long wait time but today was much better. In and out in an hour. I think these reviews are being read and her clientele is from all backgrounds so she's making improvements. None of us are perfect but atleast she's putting forth the effort to improve.

My family and I love Dr. Parker and her staff. They are professional, kind and provide great oral care for my young daughters. We wouldn't go any other place!

Knowing which lobby to get my temperature checked was confusing for me. My daughter loves the services being performed to her by Meagan. She looks forward to it and thankfully is not fearful of her dental visits at all.

The wait time is ridiculous.......They also schedule during school time and never have any weekend appointments!!!! I'm going to find another dentist for my child......I've been dealing with this way to often with this office

The wait times are really long. We wait at least an hour when we get there. Appointments are always scheduled 3 months even if you call to schedule ahead of time, you appointment will be at least 3 months away. I really like Dr. Parker and the other female Dr that works there. They're both very professional and thorough. However, the office fails to treat people with respect with regard to our time. I just finished nursing school and will be getting my kids better insurance. Better insurance = better options for healthcare.

I am highly disappointed in the service from Dr. Amy Parker's office today. I would give zero stars if I could. My 2 children had appointments scheduled for 1:45pm and 2:15pm. We arrived at Dr. Parker's office at 1:30 for paperwork. We were greeted at the door by having our temperatures checked. I received the necessary paperwork filled it out and returned it to the young man at the front desk. Patients were coming in frequently. My children had appts for consultations. We sat and waited for an hour as other patients were coming in and being seated. I spoke to a few of the other patients who's appts were scheduled for 2pm or after. I had to go into the office twice, once to find out how much longer and was told the charts were almost finished. The second time that I went back to the front desk, I had to ask for a work note because I had come to the office on my lunch break for CONSULTATIONS!! I work in a dental office myself and have been in the field for over 16 years, no office that I have ever worked for (even if we're short staffed) would never have a patient waiting for so long. I will never be back to this office and I will not refer anymore of the patients that I come in contact with to an establishment like this.

If every child could begin their Dental experience with Dr. Amy Parker and her entire staff, this world would be filled with "beautiful smiles and wholesome attitudes toward dentistry!! " --When my granddaughter was given over to the staff to begin the work planned for her, I released her into their hands with great Confidence, knowing that she was receiving the best possible care!!!

My children have been to Dr Parker for over 20 years, we wait until we came home to schedule our children's appointments. Her & her staff are phenomenal! Do your children a favor and book an appointment with Dr Parker, you nor children will ever regret it!

I have 3 boys who all need braces. Looking through orthodontists online, I came across this dentist, Parker. After looking through their website, now not coming here, not that my business alone would even matter to her, she has many patients I'm sure. It's not wise to advertise your political beliefs on your website, whether that be a photo or statement or celebrating any breaking news, etc, nobody who is looking for dental care needs/cares to know this. It's not because of what/who you believe in, it's that this is your business and that doesn't belong here to advertise.

Amazing services been with Dr. Parker for 21yrs . She does excellent work and the patience with the kids are awesome!!! My babies don't cry they build a comfortable bond with the kids which make it easier on the parents.

Always a great experience. I heard someone else's child leave the office holding his new toothbrush proudly say, "This was the best dentist ever." My daughter had to have teeth extracted a few years ago and I definitely brought her to the right place.

The Drs and staff are great! This is the only dentist my 7 year old son feels comfortable going with. They are top notch dentists. I drive from 25 minutes in no traffic to take my son there. My 16 yr old went to 3 dentists when younger, prior to finding and liking Dr Parker. That office is literally a godsend with children
