Orthodontic treatment time varies and can last between one and three years, and depends on each individual. It is important that after creating a plan of action with Dr. Steven Harrison, that you fully comply with your orthodontic dentistry treatment to help you achieve your best results!

Orthodontic appliances are made of metal, ceramic or plastic. They may be removable or they may be brackets bonded to the teeth. By placing a constant, gentle force in a carefully controlled direction, braces slowly move teeth to the proper position.

Gone are the days when a metal band with a bracket was placed around each tooth. You can now choose clear or metal brackets and, in some cases, the color of your appliance. Wires are far less noticeable, and the latest materials are designed to move teeth faster with more comfort. Today, any age is a great age to wear braces! If you are looking for a trusted orthodontist in Springfield, MO visit Dr. Steven Harrison.

Treatment time varies and is dependent on several factors including age, the orthodontic dentistry treatment method, and how minor or severe your case is. A big factor in a successful treatment is you! The more involved and diligent you are, the more efficient your treatment will be. For children, receiving interceptive or early treatment can also help provide a quicker treatment time.

When it comes to orthodontics, most people probably only think older kids, teens and adults can receive treatment. On the contrary, children can be seen for orthodontic dentistry even as early as seven years old.

In some cases, children will benefit from early orthodontic treatment so they can get amazing permanent results. Such early orthodontic dentistry (often referred to as Phase One) can begin at about age 9. After initial early treatment, a second phase may begin around the age of 11. Often early treatment can correct bite issues and jaw alignment, as well as help permanent teeth erupt correctly.

Dental issues can be addressed more easily. Early orthodontic dentistry takes place while the jaw is still growing. This means dentists have the opportunity to address issues like crowding, bite issues and jaw alignment with more ease. Treating these problems early on can help permanent teeth erupt correctly and eliminate the need for more complex treatment in the future.

Future orthodontic treatment is less severe. Since your dentist will have the ability to treat any issues early on, your childs second phase of orthodontic treatment will be much more simple and oftentimes, he or she will be in and out of braces in a much shorter period of time.

Your child has difficulty chewing. Your child is a mouth breather (they breathe through their mouth rather than their nose). Your child has difficulty speaking properly. Your childs teeth are crowded. Your childs jaw incorrectly shifts when it is opened and closed.

Whether youre unsure if your child would benefit from early orthodontic dentistry or you would like to get started right away, our board-certified orthodontist in Springfield, Mo will determine the appropriate treatment options based on your childs individual needs.

Came in with a semi- emergency and they worked me in. Staff was very sympathetic and yet efficient. Dr Hall didn't have a hole in his schedule but he slipped away checked the ex-rays and examined my painful molar. Gave me treatment options going forward. Thanks

Everyone there is very very kind! They all took the time with me and were non-judgmental to a person who never goes to the dentist. The office is really nice and welcoming and I felt like I got the best advice I could get for my situation. I was so grateful for Amy working with me to get scheduled and everyone else I encountered while in the office. I would definitely highly recommend this dental office to anyone. Thank you all very very much!

Love Leslie - getting my teeth cleaned is like having a visit with a friend she's professional & gentle during the process. I've been a patient of Dr Ropka for several years now and she has gotten me through some really touchy moments over the past few years. Love her and the team!

I have an overwhelming debilitating fear of dentists but I have finally found a group that really does know how to deal with patients like me. For my follow up appointment to get my crown put in, they were just as patient, caring and efficient as my first visit. Their sedation protocol works 100% and I remember no pain or noises at all. I was not made to feel embarrassed or silly for having this debilitating fear but rather made to feel they understood and truly worked with me patiently. I highly recommend this group.

Dr Dills is the best! However, everyone is great as well. Have never had a bad experience. From the Doctors, Hygienists, and office staff, they all make you feel like family. Brought our granddaughter here to start her dental hygiene and they have an excellent children's program. I could go into detail but all my accolades would be too long. Just trust that you can't go wrong if you decide to go here.
