Park View Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics is one of Manhattans first dental practices devoted exclusively to children. Founded in 1986 byDr. Deborah Pilla, our practice has been leading the way in thegentle dental caremovement for more than 30 years.

Having been with the practice for many years,Dr. Rima Parikhwill continue to build upon this foundation, expanding the practice with the latest procedures and technological advances that meet the growing needs of a new generation of parents and patients.

Many of the challenges of pediatric dentistry relate not only to technical skill, but simply in making children feel comfortable and calm something the experienced doctors and staffat our practice excel in. Our patients look forward to our colorful, activity-filled office along with a soothing view of Central Park.

Dr. Rimaand our dedicated staffpride themselves on providing the latest cutting-edge technologies and our ability to offer a variety of sedation options, whether in-office or, for more complex cases, at the nearby Northwell-Lenox Hill Hospital. As a premier pediatric dental practice in New York City, weve built our solid reputation not only on ourskills but also our dedication to offeringdental care with a little extra care.

Dr. Rima Parikhproudly stepped into the role as the managing partner of Park View Pediatric Dentistry at the beginning of 2018. Having already been with the practice for more than three years, she is thrilled to expand upon the over 30 year foundation set by Dr. Deborah Pilla in addition to leading a new generation of parents and patients with the latest procedures and technical advance in Pediatric Dentistry.

Following dental school, she completed a one-year general practice residency at St. Barnabas Hospital. It was there she realized her love and natural ability for treating children. Dr. Rima then continued her training as a post-doctoral resident to pursue a specialty in Pediatric Dentistry, where she held the position of Chief Resident.

Single tooth anesthesia is the first computer-controlled local dental anesthetic system. Unlike the traditional dental syringe application of anesthesia, STA is a kid-friendly alternative that eliminates the need for a dental injection. In addition, another benefit of single tooth anesthesia is that the anesthetic effects are limited to the tooth, not the lip or face. Therefore, this eliminates concerns about a child biting their lip (during or following a procedure) due to numbness.

StemSave provides families with the opportunity to collect and preserve the valuable stem cells that are contained within the baby teeth, wisdom teeth and permanent teeth. Through cryopreservation, these stem cells can be used to treat future disease or injury. Today, scientists are directing stem cells so they can grow into almost any type of human cell, including heart, brain, cartilage, liver, and insulin-producing pancreatic beta cells.

At ParkView Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics, we use digital imaging to process dental X-rays. Ourdigital X-ray systemrequires less radiation than conventional X-rays, significantly reducing radiation exposure to your child. The digital images are made using an image receptor that is placed in your childs mouth to capture the X-ray image.

Ourstate-of-the-art digital dental scanneris an intraoral scanner that can be used to produce custom-fitted restorativedental crownsas well as perform accurate orthodontic scans, such as those required for braces orInvisalign. As a result, patients can enjoy faster office visits and shorter turnaround times between scanning, device fabrication, and actually receiving treatment.

WithIcon, a cutting-edge resin infiltration system, our pediatric dentists are able to treat both early-stage cavities and undesirable white spots on teeth. As a result, we can preserve healthy tooth structure. Icon is completely pain-free and involves no drilling.
