Park Slope Kids Dental Care is a brand new state-of-the art office, completely decorated and geared towards children. Our primary goal is to make every childs trip to the dentist a positive and fun experience. Dr. T. Francis and the staff makes sure that both parents and children are aware and educated about the special dental health needs while providing a warm, caring and professional service.

Our pediatric dental offices is colorful, fun, and child-friendly. Dental phobias are often rooted in childhood, so it is essential that the child feel comfortable, safe, and trusting of the dentist from the outset. We have a unique vocabulary designed to ward off fear of seeing the dentist. Cavities are sugar bugs and injections are sleepy juice. The reason grown adults come to fear trips to the dentist is because someone terrified them along the way, making dental visits seem like punishment or even torture. Were here to change all that.

We are not just any kids dental office. We are changing the way people view dentistry for kids! Just step into our amazing state of the art office and youll see why we are unlike any dental office youve ever visited. From the moment you enter you will see kid-fun technology, TVs, and a relaxed reception area for parents. Its a place that evokes smiles of everyone.

Pediatric dentists (or pedodontists) are qualified to meet the dental needs of infants, toddlers, schoolage children, and adolescents. Pediatric dentists are required to undertake an additional two or three years of childspecific training after fulfilling dental school requirements.

Prevention Tooth decay is the most prevalent childhood ailment. Fortunately, it is almost completely preventable. Aside from providing advice and guidance relating to home care, the pediatric dentist can apply sealants and fluoride treatments to protect tooth enamel and minimize the risk of cavities.

Early detection Examinations, Xrays, and computer modeling allow the pediatric dentist to predict future oral problems. Examples include malocclusion (bad bite), attrition due to grinding (bruxism), and jaw irregularities. In some cases, optimal outcomes are best achieved by starting treatment early.

Treatment Pediatric dentists offer a wide range of treatments. Aside from preventative treatments (fluoride and sealant applications), the pediatric dentist also performs pulp therapy and treats oral trauma. If primary teeth are lost too soon, space maintainers may be provided to ensure the teeth do not become misaligned.

Education Education is a major part of any pediatric practice. Not only can the pediatric dentist help the child understand the importance of daily oral care, but parents can also get advice on toothpaste selection, diet, thumb-sucking cessation, and a wide range of related topics.

Updates Pediatric dentists are well informed about the latest advances in the dentistry field. For example, Xylitol (a naturally occurring sugar substitute) has recently been shown to protect young teeth against cavities, tooth decay, and harmful bacteria. Children who do not see the dentist regularly may miss out on both beneficial information and information about new diagnostic procedures.

You replied to my comment with lies and I was unable to reply back with the truth so that's why I'm leaving yet another comment! You implied that you remembered I was holding a baby which is a lie because I do not have a baby-- only my 4 year old! And I did mention that I was uncomfortable which is why I left and didn't use your services that day or ever again! My husband was sitting next to both me and my 4 year old the whole time. You have cameras? You should check them before you reply with lies and attitude. We waited patiently until we realized what was happening and decided we weren't going to allow our child to have any services done without her parent(s) supervision. Honestly, the unprofessional, tacky, tasteless and rude replies are baffling. If you have time to reply with such indifference and defense to ALL of the comments sharing their experiences, then you should MAKE THE TIME TO GET YOUR PRACTICE, ATTITUDE AND POLICIES TOGETHER!

I love it here! The service here is excellent! Sure the wait is long, and it's a bit unorganized, the dentists here are so friendly and so are the staff! Been going here since I was a toddler, so I always expect the best.

An extremely disorganized practice. We came as prospective first time patients. They canceled our kids appointments after we waited almost thirty minute while they processed our paperwork.

After a long drive to an appointment made over the phone with a receptionist confirmed for today at 11am, I was told that I didn't have an appointment. The young lady was at least nice enough to accommodate me with an 11:30am appointment. While I waited with my little one, I noticed that parents were not allowed into the visit with their children. My daughter is 4 years old. This is completely UNACCEPTABLE. One, I do not hand over my child to strangers for any services. I couldn't just drop her off at an emergency room or regular doctor's office unaccompanied. I do not KNOW ANY OF YOU and neither does my child. You all seem very nice but it's audacious to assume parents would be willing to just hand over their child to you to perform services unattended by a legal guardian or parent. That is a liability on your part as far as I'm concerned. If your company is afraid of having too many people in the office due to COVID, then perhaps you shouldn't be in the business of servicing people let alone children OR just inform families beforehand of these policies so they can make a decision on whether or not they want to do business with your office. It's common courtesy for your clients. It's also good business practices to be considerate to people who bring you their business. This is unacceptable-- there is absolutely no other way to put it. I did not make a scene because I did not want to insult other parents who were compliant, but I will not accept this ever and will encourage other parents to not do the same.

This is one of the worst dental offices I have ever been to. They are completely unorganized and make extra appointments just to take more money from you. My kids had fillings to be filled and they weren't able to fill them for 6 months+ at which time they said they needed to have a cleaning first and more X-rays. All just ways to squeeze more money out of us. And by the time they were able the filling had gotten worse and I had to pay out of pocket for crowns. They have a huge turnover for obvious reasons and so they can't keep track of dental records and do unnecessary procedures. A staff member just said to me, I'm not sure ma'am. I haven't even looked at his chart. Well, that's obvious. So they booked an appointment for my son and then said they didn't do fillings on mondays. Needless to say I'm beyond frustrated and disappointed.

I came there with an emergency which I informed them about when making the appointment. They proceeded to clean my son's teeth and sent us home without any treatment. Needless to say I decided to stick with a place that opted to treat my son with a temporary filling and antibiotics for his infection rather than send him home in pain. Not recommended for emergencies.

Strongly suggest not to go to this dental office. Mediocre service. Scammers, they say everything is covered by insurance then though insane fees at you , would not go back .

The receptionist has a nasty attitude. Speaking to people in "as I said in the first place" and "first of all's". She needs to find another profession if she does not like speaking to people. She also has kept me on hold waiting to speak to a supervisor because I requested one because she does not know how to speak to people. They schedule appointments for every 7 months for children instead of every 6 months and when you ask about it they refuse to answer the question and have an attitude about it. They ask you to wear a mask but do not provide one for you. Who is running this business?

Don't take your children here! I have 5 children made their appointments in separate days, when i got there i was told my children have to wait outside in the cold since they dont have an appointment. Since when is it acceptable to leave minor children in the cold unattended? Then the next day when i went for their second appointment i was told i am not allowed to be in the back with them, they don't want to be shutdown because of too many people in the facility i am their mother and they are minors. Then when my son was done i told him to come outside and we will wait for his sister to finish the dentist grabbed my son told him he can't leave because he has to wait for his sister. Don't touch other people's children, you can render services to minors give no report about their visit but they can't leave. I reported this place! Where is the final report because i don't have any also their concerns have not been met.I don't have a car i had an uber wait for me as you previously stated i waited in my car know your facts. This is a platform for consumers to give their opinions, reviews and experience not for the staff to become a defensive marketing team writing off of a script, i know this because i work for a marketing firm i know how this kind of review banter works.

My daughters have been patients of Dr Francis for years. My 9 yo chipped her tooth the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. We called for advice and for an appt for the soonest availability. I understand we are in the middle of a Pandemic and a day before a holiday so I was patient. I called for several days, up to a week later with no reply. I left messages, spoke to the answering service and emailed. Here we are nearly a month later and still have not heard from them. I ended up taking my daughter to another dentist. I never write bad reviews because I know how this can effect a business but this action is unprofessional and unacceptable.

I wrote my experience and the so called owner who needs to be professional not write a sarcastic remark. THERE IS NO NEED TO RESPOND! Minor children should not be seen without a parent present PLAIN AND SIMPLE! PARENTS CAN RELATE TO THAT! I had questions about my children which were not answered but you got paid which is all you were concerned about. My son was done with his visit (according to your staff member) and i told him to meet me outside there is no crime in that, if you are concerned about how many people are in your facility what is your concern if my son left your practice, more space for you. Your dentist put her hands on my son that is a crime she was preventing him from leaving when i was standing right there. WHERE IS THE FINAL REPORT? If you had a report it should have shown all of our concerns about their visit and the next step. IF SCREAMING OUT THE DOOR NO CAVITIES SEE IN SIX MONTHS IS A REPORT THEN YOUR PRACTICE IS DEFINITELY UNPROFESSONAL! ALSO STOP TEXTING ME ABOUT FUTURE APPOINTMENTS. BOTTOM LINE IS WE WILL NOT BE RETURNING!

This is our 3rd time coming to see Dr. Francis. The office has always been crowded and the wait has been long. But now, it's in the middle of pandemic and there are about 20 people in the waiting room. We waited there about 50 minutes and we were on time for an appointment. Finally we were called in, but the wait between cleaning, x-ray and doctor's check up is ridiculously long. we came here at 12:30 and now it's 3:00. we haven't see the doctor yet. Dr. Francis is very nice and we hope they fix their system. Stop overbooking. We are not sure if we want to come back.

My experience was grade A from the moment I called this place. Unfortunately, there were no appointments available but thankfully someone cancelled so my son was able to get a slot. As someone who is afraid of the dentist, I wanted a kid friendly pediatric dental facility and boy did I make the right decision. My two year old had never been but the experience was remarkable. From the moment I walked in the staff was welcoming. The process is smooth and organized. They send email reminders and even email registration option to complete all the documents prior to your arrival. It also gives you the option to complete on site but requests arrival 15 minutes prior. The dental assistants, hygienists made my baby so comfortable. He didn't even need me to sit with him. It felt like we had been there already. Based on the quality service, I requested an appointment for my older son. The dentist Dr. Jolly was accommodating and took me to the front to see if there were any cancellations. She explained everything in a detailed way and provided positive feedback and how teeth develops and what to expect including drooling, hands in mouth, etc. (2yo) or migration of teeth once all adult teeth have grown in (7yo). The visit ends with a care package and balloon. The dental hygienist Andrea provided validation throughout informing the boys how they were doing so well. The areas are kid friendly and family friendly and lessen the fright that may come from dentist with kid friendly shows and environment. I absolutely love this team and would recommend this facility to anyone. Can't wait for go back in 6 months.

It took me a long time to gather my thoughts about writing this review. I do not condone bullying and harassment so please understand this is just honest factual information based on my experience, and what I felt needed to be expressed. We first started coming to this office years ago with my son and they were very helpful. We loved the bright cheery office, the goodies sent home and balloons. My kids were little so they really went for that. The staff was very helpful and the nurses are superb. I always felt like I had all the information I needed from the staff and nurses. The first few visits with Dr. Francis I was impressed with her knowledge. she was very busy with lots of patients so her comments were quick but thorough. And I did not mind that, because I know she has a lot of patients to see and I appreciate that she takes children with child health plus/ Medicaid. However sadly as the years passed, the quick comments started to get a little passive aggressive. I would ask a question and I would get answers that weren't kind, but hurried and often a brush off as if my question didn't matter or that my question was not important. But we continued on, because I know everyone has good and bad days and her office was so convenient. Before Covid, my son had a procedure and within a month, we knew something wasn't right a bump had developed. We came back and was assured nothing was wrong. 6 months later, soon as she was seeing patients, we came and again was assured nothing was wrong unless he was in pain, even though he now had a large mass under the tooth. A nurse relayed to me Dr Francis said we rushed getting him braces which probably caused the problem when in fact Dr. Francis gave me the go ahead and the referral before Covid to do so after this procedure. When I and the orthodontist questioned his infection, I was told that the orthodontist should basically mind his own business and that we should listen to her and that everything was fine. I felt talked to like a child, insulted and afraid to ask any more questions because of the way I was treated. My mama gut and other parents told me I needed to have a second opinion and thank goodness I did because my son had an infection so severe that it had gone into his jaw and caused a massive cyst. It took a long time for an oral surgeon to remove the infection and damage. He lost a permanent molar in the process. I know that my son has problem teeth and that is not her fault, but the attention and care was not there for him. If your children have "good teeth jeans", no cavities I think this would be a fine place to take your children especially with the convenient location. however, I would definitely look elsewhere if your children have issues beyond that.

Bad experience... will not return. Do not put down a $150 deposit if you're unsure if you want to sedate your child because they will find a millions reasons to keep your money. I cancelled 30 days prior to my appointment and was told NO refund.

We strongly recommend to find another dental care for your kids. Our son needed immediate attention and we got an appointment months out. We asked what we should do when he incurs pain (route was impacted) and the answer was "take pain medication". Unbelievable. We found a great practice where he had the procedure done within a week.

This place is the absolute worse my husband took our daughter in like 4 times to replace fillings they put in. They charged us all four time to replace the fillings that fell out which I made sure to have my daughter Brush, floss, and use mouth wash still the fillings found there way out. On top of that my daughter had an infection in her tooth which the doctor said she needed antibiotics, fine one day goes by two, three, four still no prescription to her pharmacy Called about four times as they said the doctor would get back to me she never did. This place is a rip off with bad customer service I will never send my children here again. I just don't understand why you would stress the antibiotics for my child and not send the prescription that take about four computer clicks I'm so annoyed with them and concerned for the well being of my child. Now I have to consult another dentist for the same issue which makes absolutely no sense

This is my second visit with my two year old son & we love it. They take such good care of us. I truly wish they would take me as a patient. They are always extremely welcoming, polite and very informative. They even make follow up appointments for you while you are there. It's so helpful as a parent because it's one less appointment that we have to schedule. I recommend this dentist office to everyone!
