Dr. Kurlansik graduated from Boston University School of Graduate Dentistry in 1979 and has been practicing in New Jersey ever since. In 1981, Dr. Kurlansik decided to make Highland Park his home by opening Park Dental Group with a goal in mind of providing the highest quality care available. Dr. Kurlansik is a proud member of the ADA, NJDA and MCDS.
Besides being passionate about dentistry, Dr. Kurlansik is also a member of two rock bands playing throughout the New York Metropolitan area. In his free time, he loves spending time with his family and friends and occasionally hitting the slopes.
Dr. Ruth graduated CUNY Brooklyn College summa cum laude, and received her Doctorate from the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health. Dr. Ruth performed an additional year of AEGD residency at NYU Langone, where she received advanced training in a wide variety of dental procedures. Dr. Ruth thoroughly enjoys the practice of dentistry, where she looks forward to meeting and caring for people every day. Her attention to fine detail and her aspiration for perfection are qualities she displays as she treats all her patients. Her hobbies include spending time with her children, hosting family and friends, hiking, painting, and dragging David into doing these activities with her.
Dr. David graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University with honors, and attended A.T. Still University College of Graduate Health Studies where he received his Masters in Public Health. He received his Doctorate from the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health. After graduating, Dr. David went to private practice in Scottsdale, Arizona, where he treated patients until he and Dr. Ruth (with their children), moved to Highland Park, NJ. Dr David is constantly honing his craft and increasing his skill set to provide the very best for his patients. His hobbies include playing guitar and piano, reading, and being dragged into Ruths activities.
Marithza graduated from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, where she obtained her training in dental hygiene. One of her favorite things to do when she is not at the office is spending time with her family and dogs. Marithza also enjoys traveling all over the world, and her favorite trip so far was to Thailand!
Melissa has been working in dentistry for over 10 years, starting off as a dental assistant and graduating in 2018 as a dental hygienist. She aims to make her patients feel comfortable while providing them with excellent dental care. She resides in North Brunswick with her husband, Phil, and their yorkie, Cody. She enjoys traveling, exercising, reading, and spending time with her family.
Kathy began her career in dentistry in 1975 as a dental assistant. After several years, she transitioned to being office manager and has held this position at Park Dental Group since 1981. PDG is Kathys home away from home. Many patients have become close personal friends and the PDG team has become family. Outside of work, Kathy enjoys a cup of coffee with a good book, cooking, and crafting. Life is wonderful and always an adventure.
Maria holds both a Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) and Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license at Park Dental Group. She has been providing dental assisting expertise for the past 33 years as a member of the PDG team. Maria enjoys spending time with her husband, three children, her daughter-in-law, and her three grandchildren. During her time away from the office, you can find Maria enjoying the sunshine at the Jersey Shore.
Krystal is a Registered Dental Assistant with an expanded functions license. With 28 years of experience, Krystal is an expert in patient care. While away from the office, Krystal enjoys spending time with her family and gardening.
Shannon has been a Certified Dental Assistant for over 4 years. She graduated from Central Career School with Honors. While away from the office, she enjoys spending time with her fiance and 5 boys. Shannon enjoys being a dental assistant because she gets to be a part of enhancing patients health while helping to create smiles that boost confidence and self-esteem.

Awesome experience! I've been a client at Park Dental for over 30 years. I of course miss Dr K, however Dr. David Abramowitz has the skills and costumer care that I makes the hour drive worth it for another 30 years!!!

Amazing service! The dentists are super nice (great community members from Highland Park) and have awesome 'bedside manner.' The work I needed done on my teeth was explained slowly and calmly, so that I could see all of the reasons why it was the case. I was terrified of my last dentist not going to lie - so this was a huge step up! Several of my friends also use them and have similar things to say. UPDATE: I think my review was originally taken down for some reason (I did fill it out while I was leaving the office, so maybe it was because of the location I was at). But as an update (hopefully this will make the review come back up publicly), I really do love it here! I'm a graduate student who has been very stressed about getting on top of my dental health after COVID-19, and the dentists have been really attentive to my own unique needs. I feel really lucky to have found them!

I had such a great experience at Park Dental Group! Dr. Ruth was super friendly and non-judgmental, and made sure I was comfortable during my procedure. I also appreciated that she respected all of my preferences and followed them. Dolores was very nice as well, and I'm sure the rest of the staff are also kind! I would highly recommend this facility for any kind of dental care!

Dr. Dave explained everything to me very thoroughly , I have a vocal chord dysfunction which makes water very difficult for me . He managed a difficult procedure using a minimal amount of water. I am impressed. Maritza did an amazing job cleaning my teeth with minimal water for the same reason. Crystal was a perfect assistant to Dr. Dave .... JeanE Favretto

Park Dental Group is now led by Drs. David & Ruth Abramowitz after many years by Dr. Jack Kurlansik. The level of expert and compassionate care remains exceptional. I'm also grateful that Office Manager par excellence Kathy and Dental Assistant Maria are still on board, while Dental Hygienist Marithza contributes to a superior level of patient care. No need to be anxious about visiting the dentist if you put yourself under their care.

3RD REVIEW (2022): After my bad experience last time the place has improved dramatically I think. Dr. David seems more caring/used to leading the place and my new hygienist Melissa was kind and professional. 2ND REVIEW (2021): Is it just me or the quality has gone down substantially since Dr. Kurlansik retired? My new hygienist was a nice lady but the service was definitely not as professional as before. I wasn't even given a chance to gargle or wash out my mouth during or after the service - I was sent straight out of the office after raw cleaning! The new dentist is the typical "I'm too busy to actually sit down and genuinely try to understand your needs" kind of doctor, and he rushed away after some formality and basic info that I'm already fully aware of. I'm not sure if I'll return again. Update on the new review: I got a call from my dentist after he saw my review. He clarified that my hygienist was a temporary substitute and it would not happen again. I appreciate the call and will return before I make more claims. 1ST REVIEW (2019): I've been coming here since I moved to the area for my dental checkups. I love that I'm never rushed (given my appointment) and that they take time to do everything thoroughly. A special shout-out to Kimberli who's an awesome hygienist, and Dr. Kurlansik is very nice and caring.
