I grew up in the West Suburbs of Chicago in the town of Wheaton and moved to Edwardsville, IL while in High School. After graduation, I attended Washington University to complete my undergrad. In 2005 I furthered my studies at Southern Illinois University, School of Dental Medicine.
My path to dentistry started with a spring break trip my Junior year of college. It was a mission trip to do construction in Honduras. During that week, I was fortunate enough to get the opportunity to help in a clinic with physicians and dentist for a day. It was that day that I fell in love with short term medical and dental trips. I went on several more mission trips over the next couple of years, which helped guide my decision into dentistry.
Dentistry is one of those things that many people are afraid to have done. I strive to put my patients concerns and well-being as my primary focus and hope to provide a calming, comforting environment for patients. Being able to restore and help maintain a healthy mouth for every patient is a goal of everyone in our office.

My husband and I had been long time customers of Paris Family Dental and found their services to be decent. However, recently my husband had a dental emergency on a Friday evening that left him in extreme pain the entire weekend. Not a hospital emergency. This business was not available for assistance until the following Monday in which he had to contact their Charleston office due to this office being closed on Mondays. There was a complete lack of concern by this business for his pain and discomfort. The only reason he was able to be seen late that Monday was due to a cancellation of which I was told if he couldn't make that he would have to make a regular appointment which would be two weeks out. That office did everything in their power to make that appointment as difficult as possible to ready for. Since then I have found alternate options for dental care for an emergency. My husband continues to go here due to its convenience, but more importantly for now having a different emergency option. However, I personally will not be subjecting myself to Paris Family Dental where the almighty dollar is first and foremost before the customers themselves. This is a health field not a manufacturing business. They would still receive their money should they decide to show even the smallest bit of concern. On another note, my husband just paid $1729 for services here. This business requires payment when services are rendered, before insurance has made payment. It appears to be an arbitrary amount picked out of thin air for there were no supporting documents for the amount. Come to find out we overpaid by $850 which in an attempt to recoup, the staff member told me they did not want to keep their customers money. Well Ma'am, I know that to be a true statement as it is I who will ensure you don't. Of course, I was told I had to call to find out when they received the insurance check to request the refund. I assume it is too much of a chore for them to call when it arrived. I was also told I could leave that money on account to pay for the next service if I so chose. Now why in the world would I leave that amount on account when I will have to pay interest on that amount, without knowing the prior cost, and then jump through the same hoops to recoup any over payment as I am forced to do so now? An oxymoron if I ever heard one. If this company would step into the 21st Century like so many others and wait to receive the insurance payment before billing the customer - Well, I wouldn't be writing this now. But as I said before, the almighty dollar is first and foremost at this place of business and this particular staff member just took the time to confirm it.

This office has one dentist assigned full time as far as I am aware, who also provides services in Charleston Illinois when this office is closed on Mondays. There is no doubt the staff is friendly, but I am afraid it takes more than being friendly to consider this place for your dental needs. Besides you, yourself, scheduling dental cleanings, there is not much prevention to speak of. It is more of a wait until it gets broke then fix it approach. Availability of the doctor for an emergency should be considered. There does not appear to be much concern for a customer in pain caused by a dental emergency. Especially when that emergency occurs after hours on a Friday night. There is simply no one to be reached and visiting the emergency room at the hospital is not an option. In that case, and due to this office being closed on Mondays, one must contact the Charleston office to be seen or continue to wait to speak to someone at this office on Tuesday. It is all relative, and when one is suffering from pain even ten minutes may seem an eternity. There is no need to wonder why there is an opioid epidemic. Regardless, you must still make an appointment to be seen at the Charleston office. If you are fortunate, as my family member was, there will have been a cancellation and you may get seen that afternoon. If not so fortunate, you may have to wait until their next available opening which could be a week or two. In that case, it just sucks to be you. Due to the lack of concern by this business for my family member's pain and suffering - I have moved my family's dental needs to a more qualified and concerned dental office.

They let my children go THREE YEARS without a cleaning or exam during which the entire time they were picking up trays for their Invisaligns though. Upon me asking how long it had been and they scheduled cleaning and exams they told my 17 year old daughter she had 7 cavities! We let them attempt fillings! My daughter never had any troubles until after Dr Zack touched her teeth! We went back three times for him to just tap on her teeth and give her antibiotic to no avail!
