We quickly outgrew our small space and relocated to Garverdale Court in 1991, doubling our capacity to 4 dental chairs. After seeing patients in that location for 10 years, we purchased the land for our current location in 2001. We immediately began the planning and building process for our new building which we occupied in January, 2003. In our new facility we integrated the newest advances in dental technology with Digital X-rays and Intra-Oral Cameras allowing us to serve our patients well while reducing X-ray exposure. Over the years our staff has blossomed to an amazing team of two Doctors and 13 Clinical and Administrative Team members. You can find out all about each of them on the Our Staff page of our website.
Dr. Eric Hoidal joined our team in July, 2008 and we became Paramount Family Dentistry. At Paramount Family Dental we pride ourselves in what we like to call a relationship driven dental practice. Our most important goal is to get to know our patients while at the same time providing them with the best dentistry possible. Over years we have enjoyed growing up with our patients and their families, while as a team our own families have grown and changed! As you enjoy reading information about each Doctor and Team member, you will find that many of us have been together for a number of years. Together as a team we have spent time white water rafting, attending local concerts and plays, at one anothers homes, shopping at the mall, and even going on a cruise!

The purpose of our practice is to educate, motivate and encourage overall comprehensive oral health care for our patients. Dr. Hisel was raised in the Boise area after moving with his family from California at age 4. He attended Boise schools graduating in 1978 from Boise High School along with his high school sweetheart, Terri. They were married shortly after high school and celebrate 43 years of marriage in March 2022! Together they have 2 married children and 5 grandchildren. Dr. Hisel and Terri make their home in Kuna along with a blind Springer Spaniel named Pippa and 2 horses.
Their daughter Melissa is a Registered Dietitian and is employed at St. Lukes Childrens Hospital in Boise. Melissa is married to Kent, who is a Physical Therapist employed at St. Lukes Rehabilitation Hospital. Together they have 2 girls: Ainsley and Kinzlee.
Professionally, Dr. Hisel is active in numerous dental organizations including the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Christian Medical and Dental Association, the Idaho State Dental Association, and the Southwest Idaho Dental Society. Dr. Hisel is also a member of the International College of Dentists-USA Section, and the Pierre Fauchard Academy for Dentists both of which are dental organizations honoring Dentists for their continued commitment to Dentistry and service to their community. Dr. Hisel served the Idaho State Dental Society as its President in 2016-2017 and was awarded the ISDAs Presidents Award in 2018. In June 2021 Dr. Hisel was honored to receive the ISDAs Lifetime Achievement Award. Currently, Dr. Hisel serves as one of Idahos Delegates to the American Dental Associations House of Delegates, is a member of the ISDAs Legislative Committee and serves as a consultant to the Idaho State Board of Dentistry. Dr Hisel also currently represents Idaho, Montana, Alaska, Oregon, and Washington on the Council of Government Affairs for the American Dental Association.
When he is not in our office, Dr. Hisel travels for the American Dental Association and can be found volunteering in any number of dental related community projects. He has served as a team Dentist for the Idaho Steelheads, was a member of the Idaho Dental Forensics Team and is on staff at St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center. He also serves on the Board of Directors for Idahos Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Dr. Hisel and his wife Terri have always been a great team and together they developed and continue to be a part of a free dental clinic in Garden City which still exists today as Genesis Community Health.
Dr. Hisel and Terri are both members of CityHope Church in Boise and have served in many leadership roles. When possible, they enjoy spending time at their lakeside cabin in Donnelly, cycling, traveling, and spending time with their families. Dr. Hisel loves college football (Go Broncos!) loves to golf and runs to train for marathons and half marathons
Dr. Eric Hoidal has been with Paramount Family Dental since July 2008. He earned his undergraduate degree in Chemistry from the University of Oregon in 2003. While at Oregon, Dr. Hoidal was a member of the Deans list and received the 2003 Analytical Chemistry Award. He was also an active member of Campus Crusade for Christ. Dr. Hoidal was accepted into the Idaho Dental Education Program and attended his first year of dental school at Idaho State University. He then moved to Omaha, Nebraska to finish his final three years at Creighton Universitys Boyne School of Dental Science.
Dr. Hoidal was born and raised in Boise and attended Boise Schools. He graduated from Borah High School in 1999. While in high school, Dr. Hoidal participated in varsity football, basketball, track and tennis. He and his wife Michelle were married in the fall of 2009. They have 3 girls. Dr. Hoidal and his family live in Southwest Boise where they share their home with their dog, Griffin. They enjoy being outdoors and spending time as a family. His girls love to stop by the office to say hello. If you hear a little voice yelling Daddy! you know it is them looking for their favorite dentist.
Heidi is a Boise native and graduated from Idaho State University in 1989. She joined Paramount Family Dental in 1991. Heidi has been married to Mark since 1989. They love spending time together traveling and cycling. They have two adult children, Jordan and Tommy. Heidi works two days a week and says she has the best of both worlds. She loves working and seeing her patients and coworkers but gets to be a wife and mom almost full time.
Kristin graduated from Centennial High School and received her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from Idaho State University. She began working at Paramount in 1993. She is blessed with a wonderful husband, Gerald, two sons and a daughter and loves to spend time with her family. Kristin also enjoys quiet time reading books, gardening, skiing, camping, traveling, and doing lunch with friends. She feels blessed to be part of our team and the opportunity it has brought to build great relationships with fabulous patients.
Gena was born and raised in Boise and attended Boise High School. She graduated from Idaho State University in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene. Gena has worked for Paramount Family Dental since the summer of 1996 and enjoys her patients and her work. She is married to Nate and together with their children, they enjoy downhill skiing, hiking, rafting and camping.
Cherry graduated in 2007 from Eastern Washington University with a Bachelors Degree in Dental Hygiene. In June of 2010 she rejoined Paramount Family Dental and is passionate about her profession. Cherry and her husband, Ryan, have three wonderful children and are serving in the ministry together. In her free time, Cherry enjoys reading, music, playing games and spending time with her family.
Amy was born and raised in the Treasure Valley. She graduated from Kuna High School in 2002, Eastern Oregon University in 2006 and dental hygiene school in 2008. Amy married her college sweetheart in 2010 and they have three wonderful children (Larrysa, LaQuan and Cort). Her family is her world! In her spare time, she enjoys playing volleyball, cooking, crafts and reading. Amy also runs the Boise School District Childrens Free Dental Clinic.
Kelly is a native of the Treasure Valley. She attended Borah High School, and later, Montana State University. She joined our team in 2018 and works part-time. Kelly and her husband, Mike, have retired from the Air Force and settled back home since 2007. They have been married 37 years! She feels very blessed to be living near their daughter, Amanda, and her family. She has a granddaughter named MaKenna, and a new grandson expected in early 2022! Kelly enjoys camping, quilting, crafting, and spending time with friends and family.
Dani became part of our team at Paramount Family Dental in 2006. She thoroughly enjoys the interactions she has with patients and staff members as well as many other aspects of her career. Dani is married to her high school sweetheart, James and together they share a wonderful son. As a family they love spending time together doing many outdoor activities and home projects.
Kelly joined our team in July 2020 as a dental assistant. She has a passion for dentistry and loves creating bonds with her patients. She has a little boy named Zane that was born in 2018. She has two small dogs and two cats. Kelly loves cooking, doing wood projects, and being outdoors.
Bailey was born and raised in Boise and graduated as a dental assistant in 2011. She loves being able to build relationships while also helping people in such a caring atmosphere. Bailey has two children, her son Orion born in 2014 and her daughter Isla born in 2018. Bailey enjoys outdoor activities with her kids as well as cooking and playing board games.
Corinna is a Boise native. She attended the Boise State University Dental Assisting Program and graduated in 1984. She married her high school sweetheart in 1993. They have a fur baby, a Pomeranian. She chose a career that she loves, and it is her pleasure to serve our patients. Family is a very important part of her life. She loves spending time outdoors, working in her yard, traveling, and many other hobbies.
Pamm joined our team in 2021 as our bookkeeper and insurance specialist. She graduated from a dental assisting program in 1991 and has been in the dental field her entire career. Prior to joining our team, Pamm had been employed by Delta Dental of California since 2001. She also received her Associate Degree in Accounting in 2015. Pamm has a beautiful daughter born in 2000, and a dog named Frizzy. In 2019 she became a certified dog trainer and loves to teach as often as she can in her spare time. She is very happy to be in Idaho!
Shelley is an Idaho native growing up in Hazelton, a small farming community near Twin Falls. She graduated from Boise States Dental Assisting Program in 1985 and has been in the dental field since. Before joining us in 2017, Shelley had spent many years working for Slattery Orthodontics here in Boise. She and her husband, Keith, were blessed with boy/girl twins born in 1989 as well as a son born in 1997. Together they enjoy boating and camping as much as possible. Shelleys favorite part of dentistry is getting to know the patients on a personal level and making sure they know how truly important they are to us!
Kims native home is western Nebraska. She and her husband, Mark, moved to the Boise area in 2018. Kim came to our office with many years of dental experience as she started in the field at age 18. She feels dentistry has been a rewarding profession and truly enjoys teaching people that dentistry can be comfortable, makes you healthier and can change your life with beautiful restorations. Kim is blessed to have two sons and a daughter as well as 5 grandchildren.She enjoys gardening, baking, wood working and being outdoors in Gods beautiful Treasure Valley.
