With Paragon Dental, Dr. Scott is realizing his dream of having a new dental practice in the community where he lives and grew up. Born and raised in Western Pennsylvania, Dr. Scott graduated from North Allegheny High School. He continued on to college, attending The Pennsylvania State University and earning a Biochemistry degree. He went on to earn a MS in Biotechnology from Johns Hopkins.
After working in neuroscience research for three years, Dr. Scott returned to school for his dental degree at the University of Maryland. While in dental school, he continued doing basic science research on pain while serving as president of the American Student Dental Association. Dr. Scott was inducted into the Gorgas Odontological Honor Society for exceptional academic achievement and was presented the senior Leadership Award by the Maryland State Dental Association.
Dr. Scott and his wife returned to the Pittsburgh area following his acceptance into the Pittsburgh Veterans Administration General Practice Residency program. He spent a year serving our veterans and learning under the guidance of specialists and general dentists. Dr. Scott has been in private practice for over ten years in the Pittsburgh area. He has completed hundreds of hours of continuing education and received his Fellowship in the International Academy of Oral Implantologists in 2011. He completed several courses at the prestigious Dawson Academy and is working toward Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Scott resides in the Pine Richland School District with his wife and three children.

Paragon dental is a great practice. The staff are very friendly and Dr. Scott is amazing. Fixed my broken tooth the same day... Just before I was heading out for vacation. Highly recommend

Relocated from Maryland just over a month ago and learned my dental insurance didn't follow me. Was having an issue and the dental office family referred me to wasn't accepting new clients. I asked that office for a referral and they recommended Paragon. I called, explained my situation, and BOOM, I had an appointment a day or so later! My dental issue was thoroughly explained to me (thankfully, nothing as extreme as I allowed my imagination to devise), addressed, and I was educated on how to prevent a recurrence. I have a follow up in a couple of weeks to finish up the recommended treatment plan. Everyone in the office was very kind, knowledgeable and helpful! I definitely recommend Paragon Dental!

I am so glad I found this place unexpectedly when I walked by. I love my old dentist but her office was a 30min drive now, and Paragon is within walking distance. How lucky was I! Toni, my hygienist is super friendly and knowledgeable. She talked to me like I were her old friend the minute I walked in. She recommended a periodontal maintenance schedule for me knowing that I had gum disease and even looked up the insurance policy for me! Dr Scott is also very nice. The office is well appointed and has advanced devices compared to my old dental office. They even have a TV on the ceiling haha I will stick with Paragon for many years to come!

I recommend them to everyone!! Nicest people ever: from the front desk staff to the hygienists, to the dentist. They won't push a bunch of unnecessary & expensive things like a boutique dentist will. I needed something done and they contacted my insurance to see what I would pay out of pocket and called me to let me know! So happy I found them!

It's annoying to be left in the dental chair for long periods while the doctor's carrying on conversations with other people in the office. It would be understandable if he were treating other patients, but he is obviously not treating - just talking.

Dr Scott and the team at PD were very friendly and very professional. It was my first visit after leaving a dental office we had been with for almost 17 years. I had chipped a tooth and they quickly got me on the schedule to repair it. Takes a little longer to get in for cleanings but we'll worth it.
