Dr. Shahram Karimi attended Arizona State University for his undergraduate studies and earned his D.M.D. dental degree at Tufts School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. He began practicing dental care in 1995 while living in Arizona.
While spending summer vacations on Marthas Vineyard, he identified the need for a practice offering cosmetic dentistry and specialty procedures, and he founded Paradise Dental Group, Marthas Vineyard, in 2010. Dr. Karimi opened Paradise Dental on Marthas Vineyard and became a year round resident. Today, Paradise Dental provides the Islands only full service Cosmetic and Family Dentistry operation.
Dr. Karimi continues on a yearly bases to be honored by the Consumers Research Council of America named as top dentist based on a point value method including experience, training, board certification, and professional associations.
A milling system using modern software and state-of-the-art equipment to provide individual crowns. Dr. Karimi begins by preparing your tooth according to the type of restoration needed. Then, while you are sitting in the chair, we use the systems 3D Cad/Cam photography system to take the place of an impression. Dr.Karimi designs your restoration while you watch, using the CEREC software.
A crown is a restoration that covers a tooth in order to strengthen it as well as restore it to its normal shape and size. A crown may be placed to support a large filling when there is little remaining tooth structure; attach a bridge; protect weak teeth from fracturing; or restore fractured teeth. A tooth that has been treated with root canal therapy will require a crown following treatment to provide strength and support the tooth. We only use materials for crowns that will provide the longest lasting benefits to our patients, and our patients are thrilled that there are no more ugly metal bands at the gum line.
Paradise Dental Group uses the latest technology to fabricate personalize crowns, we do it in house with our CEREC milling system. Just in one visit provides the patient with a beautiful new ceramic crown. No more messy impressions, no more temporary crowns, no more waiting days or weeks for your crown to be fabricated.
When a tooth is missing, the adjoining teeth tend to shift into the empty space. Opposing teeth may also begin to grow up or down into that space as well. These movements cause not only an unflattering appearance, but it can cause significant bite problems. A bridge made of todays advanced materials can prevent this occurrence, replacing the missing tooth or teeth and helping you keep a beautiful smile for your lifetime.

I can't say enough about how wonderful and caring the entire staff is! Such great care. It is plain to see that Dr Karimi loves his work and cares deeply for his patients. This seems to be infectious throughout the entire staff.

Great experience at Paradise Dental. As a new patient, I was pleasantly surprised at how efficient their online new patient forms were, including a COVID prescreening process, that will makes even the most cautious among us feel safer. The staff was friendly and professional, the space modern, fresh and clean, and care exceptional. Highly recommend.

With the COVID pandemic, I was a little concerned about visiting the dentist, however, I was extremely impressed with the safety protocols they have put into place and this alleviated any concerns I had. Additionally, the Doctor and entire staff are highly professional, courteous and knowledgeable. It was a great experience.

I'd give 100 stars if I could. In all of my life I have never encountered as kind of a dentist as Dr. Karimi. I came back home to the Vineyard to visit family and out of the clear blue sky I developed a tooth abcess, the most awful pain one can experience, debilitating and excruciating and over night, the pain extending from my tooth up into my sinus cavity. I needed an emergency Dr visit and upon my initial inquiries there was not a soul that would see me as I am currently living in TN and was not a patient of theirs, this includes the Walk-in Clinic in VH that turned me away as well. Desperate, I called the ER and was given two places to try, one was Paradise Dental, which was just across the street from the Walk-in Clinic. As I entered the office of Dr. Karimi I was greeted by the most friendly receptionist ever, and after a quick consult with the Dr she advised me that he would see me if I could wait just 15 minutes, I was SO relieved and thankful! I would insert a heart emoji here if I were able. Dr Karimi was kind, gentle, thorough, and explained everything that was going on to me during the exam as well as what he saw on the xray. He extended such a courtesy to me that I will NEVER forget his assistance. I have rarely encountered a professional of this caliber who is genuinely kinder than many I've met in the Medical field. I would recommend Paradise Dental to anyone and everyone, particularly those who are nervous visiting the dentist as I am, here you are welcomed and made to feel extremely comfortable during treatment. My heartfelt thanks to everyone at Paradise dental, primarily Dr Karimi, I will never forget how you helped me. If I ever move back to the Vineyard you have a patient for life.

Everything about this practice is excellent, from the gracious and very competent office and dental staff to the airy, comfortable treatment areas, to the fine, artistic dentistry and warm manner of Dr. Sharimi himself. Having my crown manufactured right in front of me after digital impressions was great, but the piece de resistance is Dr. Sharimi's incredible skill in altering the digital version of the final result to improve - considerably - the actual outcome. In essence, he takes the technological result and gives it back to nature. Brilliant. Their text reminder system is another plus. Highly recommend this practice.
