As an orthodontist, I have the greatest job in the world: making people smile for a lifetime. I get to hang out with kids, teens, and adults I get to know each of them well, watch them grow, and see their confidence and self-esteem soar.

After dental school, Dr. Pappas was commissioned as an officer in the United States Air Force anda dentist. During his service with the Air Force, he completed a one-year advanced education general dentistry residency at David Grant Medical Center, Travis Air Force Base, California. Dr. Pappas served three years as a general dentist in the United States Air Force before completing his orthodontic residency and Master of Science at the University of Iowa.
Dr. Pappas has a passion for learning. He consistently works to stay on the cutting edge of information, techniques, and materials used in the practice of orthodontics. He and his staff spend a great deal of their professional time perfecting their orthodontic skills and keeping current with the latest orthodontic innovations through continuing education programs and orthodontic seminars.
Dr. Pappas is also an American Board of Orthodontics board-certified orthodontist, which makeshim one of only a handful in the Hampton Roads area with that distinction. Board certification confirmsan orthodontists personal commitment to providing lifelong quality patient care. Fewer than 30% of orthodontists are board certified.
Dr. Pappas also enjoys giving back to the community through the Mission of Mercy projects, for whichhe has traveled to underserved areas of Virginia to providedental care, as well as to rural communities in Jamaica and Honduras.

The ABO certification process requires the completion of peer-developed, externally validated written and clinical examinations.

I cannot say enough positive things about Pappas Orthodontics - from the front desk team who genuinely listens, cares and remembers us each time... to the chair side team who is patient and connects with each patient....to the amazing Dr Pappas himself who never ceases to welcome us with a smile and friendly hello like we are family each time! Have after hours concerns? Unplanned need? We have first hand witnessed this and the team (including Dr Pappas!) is always available and will fit you in, because here, the patient truly is at the center of everything they do! Coming here is more than ortho - it's like visiting friends and family! Highly recommend!!!!

I came back home on vacation to get my retainer replaced as it had worn down naturally, Dr. Pappas fit me into his schedule no problem. He rescanned my teeth and even mailed me multiple retainers out of state to New York (where I live) to make small corrections to my teeth even though my treatment had ended a year and a half ago. The office staff has grown a lot but they are all still so nice and caring. I had a new assistant doing the scan of my teeth, I didn't catch her name but she was very nice and professional. Shout out to Dr. Pappas and the Gloucester office staff. Always professional, caring, and friendly. You guys are the best

Dr. Pappas and Kaycee took their time during ortho consult for my kiddos. They explained everything in detail, made sure my kids were comfortable with the X-rays and 3D pictures, and answered every question that we had. There was no pressure about what steps to take next. Would highly recommend!

Absolutely love this office and everyone we've encountered during our visits to Dr. Pappas' office. They're always on time, and professional. I was hesitant on moving forward with adult braces, but they've eased my fears and have made a huge transformation so far in just a few short months. I decided as a grown adult to finally get braces. I've wanted them as a teen. I decided to finally book a consultation just to see if it was possible, I left that day with braces. Dr. Pappas and his staff are always so friendly. Getting braces has been an amazing experience for me. I'm so happy with my new smile. We went to Dr Pappas after our daughter had completed treatment with another orthodontist and we were not pleased with results. He and his staff made us completely at ease. He spent all the time needed to tell us where we were at, what our options are and the results we could obtain. There was no pressure upon us just complete care and concern that we have all the information to make a decision going forward.
