She and her husband, Dr. Matthew Sept (also a Moscow, ID dentist), joined the Navy together and served four years of active duty stationed in San Diego and Naples, Italy, while completing their advanced education in general dentistry.
Dr. Karen completed her specialty training in pediatric dentistry at Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston and was Chief Resident in her second year. While she and her husband enjoyed the Southern charm of South Carolina, the Septs missed the mountains of Idaho and decided to move to Moscow to raise their family.
Dr. Karen has a wide range of experience in different aspects of pediatric dentistry from preventative dentistry to establishment and maintenance of healthy dental habits. She uses these skills to address your childs unique dental needs, and enjoys making dentist visits fun for all of her young patients.
At the office, Dr. Karen treats patients and parents as if they were her own family, combining compassion and high-quality dental care. In addition to caring for her patients, Dr. Sept enjoys spending time with her family and watching her children, McKenna and Beckett, play sports. She also enjoys skiing, rafting, camping, hiking, and travel.

They changed my appointment the day before after months of waiting but when I had a problem finding the place and other issues they canceled my appointment because I was late. Seems like mercy swings one direction.

I called about my 3 year old who woke up with his face grossly swollen and what I guessed was an accessed tooth. They were very rude to me on the phone and refused to see him. Not compassionate about my poor little guy and the pain he is in.

I can't say enough positives about Dr. Sept and her staff. They are always very professional, kind, clean, friendly, and have a natural ability to put children at ease. My daughter actually looks forward to her appointments!! Every experience has been nothing short of amazing.

Dr. Karen Sept and her staff are great! They are kind and caring. They make my child comfortable and acknowledge when she is nervous or scared. They take the time to talk to her and help her understand what they are doing in a way that a child can understand. They also take the time to make sure that I am comfortable with what they are doing with her. Both of the office locations are decorated in such a fun and kid-friendly way and wait times are not long at all. I highly recommend!

Dr. Sept is not just great with kids and sensitive to their fears, she is also an incredibly knowledgeable and competent dentist. We came back from Spokane where a pediatric dentist had tried to fill our son's cavity under oral sedation and had recommended general anesthesia when my son was not able to cope with the effects of the oral sedation. It was a traumatic experience--my son has mild autism and was terrified through the process. Dr. Sept took a monitoring approach to allow our son to mature. The cavity was shallow, so we were able to hold off on filling it for a few years. My son was relaxed and comfortable enough with the office that he was able to have his cavity filled with just nitrous oxide for sedation. We could not be happier.

My youngest child just had her first and much-anticipated visit to Palouse Pediatric Dentistry! She has been watching her three older siblings get their teeth cleaned for a three years now, and she was so excited that it was finally her turn! The staff is amazing--so good with kids! My daughter loved her experience so much, she thanked me for "letting her come to the dentist"! Dr. Karen Sept is very kind and approachable, and always ready to answer any questions we have. Highly recommend, especially if you have kids who are usually afraid of the dentist! :)

We're very fortunate to have such a wonderful pediatric dentist in our small town. It's very inviting with the colorful paintings and kid friendly atmosphere. The staff are very kind and patient. They make my son feel very comfortable and going to the dentist is always a positive experience for him

Severely under staffed! It's the only one in the area our insurance allows for kids but they have a 2 year waiting list! That is ridiculous!

Dr Sept, Cassie(the HeadToothFairy) and staff are so kind and friendly. My son was brave and felt comfortable the entire time he was in the chair, as did I. They comforted him and told him how great he did and made sure I knew what was happening every step of the way. The treatment plan changed once we arrived and we were still taken care of quickly, efficiently and most importantly, my son was treated very gently. So very happy!

We love coming here! The staff help my son feel at ease and everyone is so friendly :) Alex is our dental hygienist and she is always friendly and smiling, she gives the visit an extra special touch!
