I was born and raised in the South Bay area and absolutely love living here with my husband and toddler son. I completed my undergraduate work at UC Berkeley and received my Doctor of Dental Surgery from UCLA. My heart has always been in the Bay Area so upon graduating from UCLA I returned to complete my residency training at the VA Palo Alto Hospital.
I am very proud that I was able to utilize my skills with the veteran population through my residency at the VA Palo Alto and subsequent work with the Homeless Veterans' Reintegration Program. To be able see the change you can make in someone's life through improving oral function and confidence is a powerful thing and only drives me to continue to build upon my education.
When I am not working, I enjoy cooking and working my other full-time job, being a mom. If I were not a dentist, I would most certainly be a chef. I see a lot of connections between both professions including leadership and the ability to be precise yet think outside of the box. Also, both professions involve the mouth!

I cannot speak highly enough of Dr. Sharma's skill, compassion and friendliness. I was in town for a reunion and had an urgent dental need on the weekend. He communicated with me over the phone, gave me interim advice until he could see me later and then took excellent care of my needs. He carefully evaluated and explained my problem and treatment needs, got me the medicine needed and handled my issue. He is a true professional and I would recommend him and his practice to those seeking both regular and urgent care.

Literally the best place to come if you want PAINLESS dentistry. Wish I had come here a long time ago! Update: I sent my whole family here since they were told that extensive work at their old dentist's office. Dr. Sharma spent time and saw that my husband only needed one crown but the rest was stable!

Yesterday, my mom followed my guidance to get her teeth cleaning since Covid had her anxious about everything, but I am happy to report that Dr Shiv Sharma and his team helped care for my mother's teeth in a very professional manner. For her to report back to me that this dentist and team were friendly, gentle and caring supports what I understood in that they treat all patients like they are a family member and in fact my mother's experience is a perfect example. Thank You Dr. Sharma and team!!

I was their patient for a short period of time. I was suffering from an exposed tooth nerve which they claimed was neuropathy and then referred me to a specialist that wasnt taking patients. They asked me to remove the bad review as they work hard at their business and I agreed at the time. However, after much deliberation and a dozen dentists. The last one who finally helped me, I am putting back my review because my experience within the system makes me realize that although their mistreatment of me was not conscious and they did their best, that doesn't actually excuse the fact that they were not helpful. For the other dentists i went to, I will be putting one star each.

Very good! Best family dentist in Palo Alto and felt very safe with COVID-19/pandemic precautions. Highly recommend. No big TV screens or flashy artwork, just high quality care from people who actually care - what a pleasant surprise :)

I had a great experience working with Palo Alto Oral Health when I needed to bring my mother in to have extensive work done on her teeth. Dr. Sharma assisted us. His calm demeanor always makes for a relaxing visit to the dentist's office. I witnessed this first hand when we took my mother who was suffering from quite a bit of pain and was fearful of what might be wrong with her teeth. He was very thoughtful and sensitive to my mother's fear and stresses, quickly relaxed her and put her at ease. In fact she went from wanting to pull the teeth out to ok let's get some work done and save the tooth. He knows his craft very well and is even better at finding creative ways to communicate technical detail to patients making them understand exactly what they are dealing with or what procedure there about to undergo. His advice continues to help my mom as she finishes up dental work in a different country and not a day goes by where she doesn't thank Dr Sharma for his care and advice. Dr Sharma also has an excellent network of colleagues and supporting Orthodontists who are able to provide excellent care which always helps when the teeth more than cosmetic attention Thank you Dr Sharma and thank you Palo Alto Oral Health :-)

9 months out from a dental implant and it's great. After some time to settle in I don't even know it's there. I am very pleased with the result. Don't wait any longer. Take care of your teeth. Job well done, Dr Sharma!

Just finished invisalign treatment here through Dr. Sharma and I couldn't be more pleased with the results! My teeth look wonderful! They do a fantastic job throughout the whole treatment, are gentle, and really informative about the invisalign process. 10/10 would recommend to someone looking to go through invisalign. Lovely staff as well.

Dr Lin is my dentist and I always have a great experience from start to finish. Their office staff is always attentive and makes sure to follow up with me. Dr Lin is a pro and is very friendly and caring. She is a great communicator and makes sure to inform you how your dental health is doing and full of tidbits on how to take care of your own dental health. I feel like I'm in great hands and highly recommend them!

Extremely good. I don't recommend a lot of places but I've had excellent experiences here. My dad was a dentist and he comes all the way from San Jose for Dr. Sharma.
