Sedation dentistry is available for those who may feel anxiety about going to the dentist. We offer complimentary nitrous oxide or laughing gas to help ease your mind. Our pain-free dental care includes educating you about how to take care of your oral health, to prevent future problems from occurring.
I had a lot of dental work as a kid! A bike accident caused me to need three front teeth replaced. I had three root canals, some crowns done and spent a lot of time in the dental chair from having too much candy and too little healthy dental habits! Going through seeing so many dentists made me realize what was lacking in the dental field: customer service.
Dr. Campbell spent 10 years waiting tables and bartending while putting himself through undergraduate school at the College of Charleston. After graduating with honors, he considered his options in the service field. The best field that combines science and business is dentistry. Its a profession that allows you to take great care of people.
Dr. Campbell emphasizes a patient-centered, personal approach to his treatment by treating the patients as individuals and taking the time to get to know them. He knows that a successful dentist must understand the patients needs and goals in order to achieve results that everyone will be happy about. Dr. Campbell and his staff look forward to seeing each and every patient walk out with a smile on their face.
After going through so much dental care, Dr. Campbell wanted to help people who felt fear or anxiety about going to the dentist. He took the dental school test, applied and was accepted within three weeks. Dr. Campbell attended the Medical University of South Carolina for his dental education. He regularly continues his education in conservative, holistic dentistry courses such as Invisalign by attending seminars and taking courses.
Dr. Campbell made the move to Charleston after living in Lexington, NC. He got a job at the Piggly Wiggly where he met his wife, Amy. Dr. Campbell loves living by the beach and enjoying all our beautiful area has to offer.
Most of his time outside the office is spent with his young children, Madilynn and Will. They often take the time to enjoy our local parks. Dr. Campbell also likes to golf, read and travel when he has time.

Palmetto Smiles is the BEST. I will ALWAYS be a loyal patron. We've gotten Invisalign - wife and I. Root canals. Sedation cleaning and treatments... I've made the mistake of going elsewhere in the past.... Never again.... Dr. C and the Team are fantastic. They're even taking care of my 10yo twins and 3yo twins.

Everyone in this office is so friendly! My cleaning are thorough and gentle and Dr is a delight! Very happy with both my Invisalign and routine carr treatments.

The dental hygienist that works there named Samm does the most thorough dental cleanings I've ever had in my life. I was blown away (and I've have always gone for regular cleanings every 6 months my whole life)! She gets under the gum line very well. My teeth looked visibly whiter and retained that very clean feeling for a very long time after my appointment with her.

This is without a doubt the best dental practice I have ever been to! Staff go above and beyond to ensure comfort, whether you have severe anxiety around dental procedures or just are a nervous person in general. Very pleasant atmosphere and Dr. Campbell was great. The staff seem very well-trained. I'm mad I didn't go sooner. I have never left any medical practice as happy as I did with this one. It definitely feels like everyone is happy to be here at this practice!

I went to Palmetto Smiles with severe anxiety, they made me feel comfortable, gave me a full assessment of the treatment plan I would need to get my teeth to a healthier state. I am Non-Binary and my Name, my Pronouns were respected the entire visit! I am very impressed with Palmetto and will be going back.

Dr. Kate West is an AMAZING dentist to say the least. She goes out of her way and above and beyond to make sure her patients receive the best care possible. She is very professional, very thorough, and very knowledgeable. Dr. West takes the time to explain to her patients everything she is doing and is very honest with her patients. I have never enjoyed going to the dentist, but when I see Dr. West I don't feel as if I'm at the dentist. Dr. West and the staff make me feel so comfortable and everyone is very professional, friendly, and outgoing. If you are looking for a dentist in the Charleston area, look no further because she is the BEST!! I would recommend her to anyone who is looking for a dentist!!!

I am a patient of Dr. Campbell. I have always been terrified of Dentist. My Mother is a patient as well and she recommended Dr. Campbell. Trusting my Mother..... I decided to see Dr. Campbell. He ia amazing he genuinely cares for his patients. Dr. Campbell never wants his patients in pain. He goes above and beyond to make sure you are in no pain! Along the way we have become friends. I believe with all my heart in getting to know him and his experiences with his own dental issues this is what makes him so cautious gentle and caring for his patients. This is why he is such a great dentist. Dr. Campbell has a great personality as well, which is very comforting. As for his Staff you will not find any better. They are such a pleasure they work with you and your schedule to fit you in at your convenience. Try Dr. Campbell, you will not regret your decision!

Dr. Kate West was amazing! I went in for a filling of a chipped front tooth, and you can not even tell that I chipped it. The filled tooth looks better than my original tooth. She took her time, and was thorough throughout the entire procedure, while ensuring that I was comfortable. I will definitely be back in the future for my routine checkups. Thank you to everyone who squeezed me in, in such a short notice. The environment is friendly, and I highly recommend.

Dr. Kate Schneider is an exceptional dentist who consistently goes above and beyond to take care of her patients. Her dental work is top quality, and she is extremely knowledgeable, thorough, and attentive, always taking the time to explain any necessary procedures. Due to Covid-19 (and life in general), I let my dental appointments slide over the last few years and was anxious about coming in after such a long time without any dental care. However, I quickly realized at my first visit I had no reason to be nervous because there is zero judgment from Dr. Schneider and her staff--they are all so friendly, professional, and caring, and they make you feel comfortable and welcome from the moment you step in the door. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Schneider if you are looking for a dentist in the Charleston area!

Kind, caring, and professional dental team. I've interacted with several team members over the years and I have nothing but good things to say. They provide thorough cleanings, preventative education, and they have personally provided me with filings and a crown. It's important who you choose when it comes to giving you pain and/or relief - I put my trust in Dr. Campbell and his staff. I highly recommend.
