Dr. Shull is a native of Lexington, South Carolina and is a graduate of the University of South Carolina and the Medical University of South Carolina School of Dentistry. Following dental school, he completed a General Practice Residency at Palmetto Health Richland.
Dr. Shull is both a past president of the Greater Columbia Dental Association and the SC Academy of General Dentistry. He is a fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry and is a faculty member at Palmetto Health Richland Department of Dentistry and the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry. Dr. Shull is also on the teaching faculty at the L.D. Pankey Institute in Key Biscayne, Florida where he teaches dentists from all around the world about aesthetic dentistry. He has been published in many dental journals and recently contributed to a textbook on comprehensive dentistry. Dr. Shull lectures throughout the U.S. on aesthetics, dental materials and photography.
A native of Hartsville, SC, Dr. Thomas has had a passion for dentistry since she set her mind on it in the third grade. After many years of hard work achieving her dream, Dr. Thomas has practiced cosmetic dentistry in Lexington for over 10 years. She received her Bachelors of Science from Clemson University and her Doctorate of Dental Medicine from MUSC in Charleston.She furthered her training in St. Petersburg, FL by completing a one-year residency program where she gained invaluable experience with cosmetic and implant dentistry, as well as complex full-mouth dental care.
Dr. Thomas greatly values the importance of continually learning the best and most modern dental techniques and also writes articles for major dental publications and travels nationally teaching on facial aesthetics, digital dentistry and dental photography.She has had the privilege to complete an intensive one-year implant training course, Implant Educators, and continues to pursue many hours of post-graduate dental education at the highly respected Kois Center, Dawson Academy, Spear Institute, and L.D. Pankey Institute. She has achieved her Fellowship award in the Academy of General Dentistry as well as the International College of Oral Implantologists. Dr. Thomas is a faculty member for the American Academy of Facial Esthetics with whom she teaches monthly across the United States.
Over the years, Dr. Thomas has traveled to Trinidad, Costa Rica, Ecuador, and Kenya on dental mission trips. She also enjoys singing at Mt. Horeb church, health and fitness, water sports, and spending time with her family and three sons.

Being new to the area, I was hesitant to find a new dentist. My neighbor referred me to PDA. I wish there were 10 stars not just 5! From the initial contact of making an appt. to actually seeing Dr. Thomas, was such a pleasant and relaxed experience. The PDA staff is so congenial and accommodating, and Dr. Thomas was thorough and made me feel comfortable the whole exam. I am so pleased and confident with this dental team!

From the time I came through the door until leaving the office everyone was welcoming, smiling and put me at ease. I appreciate that from a dental office. I was given options concerning what I wanted my outcome to be. My questions were answered by Dr. Shull and he was very patient. I'm looking forward to returning for care.

Dr Thomas is very thorough and detailed but explains it in ways non dental people understand. Staff is very friendly and personable and explain out procedure and future steps in a detailed and respective manner.

The staff at Palmetto Dental are very friendly and upbeat. They were all very welcoming and my consultation on August 9th with Tina, Tanya and Dr. Thomas went very well. Tanya even managed to get me back in the next day for a cleaning. Denise did an excellent job. PAIN FREE! Having to change dentists (moved from Michigan) is always a guessing game. My wife's guess was a good one. I will be a patient forever.

Palmetto Dental Associates, Dr Shull, Dr Thomas and staff have gone above and beyond welcoming my family & I to the practice after moving here from out of state. It's always scary to Start fresh, especially after being with our previous dentist for over 20yrs. I can tell you, Palmetto Dental did not disappoint. They have eased our nerves, cared for us like family and made the experience painless. The time that was spent with a New Patient, is, was far beyond what I anticipated. They really took the time to get to know me, my dental history and discuss what can be done or what I'd like to do. I felt cared for and not just another cattle on the farm. Thank you!

I can't say anything but GOOD things. I became a patient almost 2 years ago and have always been given great dental care with thorough explanations along the way. Also, to my surprise I discovered they did teeth straightening with clear aligners so I had that done with great results.

This was my first visit to PDA after moving from Wisconsin and after the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. My last visit was over two years ago. Our primary care doctor had recommended Dr. Shull. When I called the office I found the staff to be friendly and informative providing me with a good idea how the first visit would go. After a brief discussion with my wife I called the office back the same day. The day of my appointment went smoothly, the entire office staff and dental team were friendly and professional. My wife joined us for the exam review. The initial exam included x-rays and photographing my teeth. The x-rays indicated two cavities. I was impressed with the photos (never had that done before) that displayed wear and thinning of the biting edge. After the exam I received a three step dental plan that addressed all the problem areas. The plan was straight forward and ease to understand. Dr Shull answered questions that we both had. I arranged for my next appointment. My wife liked Dr Shull and staff and made an appointment for her first exam.

I've been in Lexington for over two years, and finally found a dental office with staff and a dentist whom I believed are looking after my best interest, and I am totally happy with my choice. They are very friendly, and efficient. And I totally appreciate their attentiveness to my concerns. If you're looking for a new dentist, look no further, I see Dr Thomas, and she is amazing. This is my dental family. They are so welcoming, and professional. I have been a patient of this practice for many years and I highly recommend. They have an outstanding skillset and chair-side manner and look out for the best interest of the patient. I have had several crowns done, redone with success. They also always find a space for you the same day with any dental emergencies. Dr Shull and Dr Thomas are both excellent dentists! The dental hygienists are the best of the best. Their front desk staff are kind, courteous and inviting. All around the best dental experience you could ask for.

Awesome practice! Dr. Thomas and the staff are excellent! From the moment I stepped in the door, I felt welcome, thanks to Tina at the front desk. In the chair, Dr. Thomas and her team made me feel comfortable, took their time explaining each step of the process, and what to expect. After not having been to a dentist in 10+ years, going now was daunting. The staff at PDA were so calming and pleasant. Obviously I need alot of work done and it may be years until I am confident with a smile, but the staff , including Crystal, Tandy, Sherri and Dr. Shull, were honest, upfront, patient and caring as they walked through every step of my dental journey. PDA is outside of my insurance network and my journey is going to cost me, but Crystal provided guidance on how to make it a little less painful to the pocketbook! I highly recommend trying them out, you will be happy that you did!
