Dr. Emily Cooper Hortmanhails from Columbia, South Carolina. She earned her bachelors degree in biology atUniversity of South Carolina, then achieved her DMD and completed a postdoctoral residency where she earned her certificate in Advanced Education inGeneral DentistryatMedical University of South Carolina. Dedicated to staying current and proficient in cutting edge techniques,Dr. Hortmancontinually pursues postgraduate education through seminars and coursework.
With a commitment to delivering the most advanced care with a womans touch,Dr. Hortmanjoined the practice in 2005. In her residency she studied advancedimplant dentistry, implant supported prosthetics,cosmetic dentistry, and accommodating special needs patients. As a vested member of the dental community,Dr. Hortmanis involved in theSouth Carolina Dental Association, Pee Dee Dental Society, Grand Stand Dental Society,American Dental Association, andAcademy of General Dentistry, where she is pursuing her fellowship. She is also the Alumni representative for the College of Dental Medicine, Class of 2004 and a member of thePsi Omega Dental Fraternity.
She and her husband have two daughters, Catherine Mae and Elisabeth Grace, that keep them busy in their free time. They also have a Poodle named Grits. The couple enjoys spending time with friends and family and in their free time boating, fishing, and gardening.

What can I say? Dr. Hortman and her staff put me out of my misery. I mean that in the best way! I am a new patient and I had an infected tooth causing great pain. Despite them being busy, they found a way to work me into their busy schedule for same day service. Very professional and courteous. I highly recommend.

The first dentist I don't mind going to! Everyone at Palmetto Dental is professional and friendly. Dr Hortman explains procedures and then works on your mouth with gentle care. No Pain! I'm so blessed to have found Dr Hortman and all of her staff.

Came in a bit stressed and grumpy the first day, but the whole staff was patient. Few days later came back to get a couple teeth bonded. Dr. Hortman, and all her assistants were amazing, great work and very friendly. I HIGHLY recommend this practice. 10/10!

Love it here! I was in a bad place a couple years ago and when I got here, whew. What a relief. Dr Horton and Nikki are absolutely amazing! Along with the rest of the staff, can't forget about them!!!

I have been going here for a year and have my teeth cleaned every three months. Nikki does a great job keeping my teeth clean. Once she was out and they fit me in with another hygienist and she was done in minutes. So glad Nikki was back today
