Dr. Smith graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina College of Dental Medicine in 1998. He then completed a general practice residency focused on implant, cosmetic and restorative dentistry at Palmetto Richland Health Systems in Columbia, South Carolina. In 1999, he founded Palmetto Dental Arts, PA a Bluffton cosmetic and implant dentistry practice.

He has made a commitment to continuing education to directly benefit his patients. He continued his training at the Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Education, the Dawson Center for Advanced Dental Study, and the Spear Institute, three of the most well-known and respected advanced dental teaching centers in the world. In addition, he also attends multiple other continuing education courses on the state and national levels.

Jessica M. Gower, D.M.D is a native of Columbia, South Carolina. She grew up in Irmo before attending the University of South Carolina to receive her bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences and Chemistry. She received her Doctorate of Dental Medicine degree at the Medical University of South Carolinas College of Dental Medicine in Charleston, SC.

Dr. Gower continues to incorporate new techniques as well as the latest technology into her practice with state-of-the-art equipment and a systemic approach to overall health. She attempts to bring her multifaceted knowledge of aesthetics, proportion, and general appreciation for beauty to every dental procedure she performs to give the patient a beautiful, strong, and healthy smile.

Dr. Gower is proficient in many treatment modalities including implant restoration, conscious sedation, Invisalign treatment, Botox therapy, treating children, special needs and medically complex patients.

She has served as the President of the Medical University of South Carolina Alumni Board, President of the South Carolina Dental Association Coastal District, and Board of Directors of the South Carolina Dental Association leading her colleagues and developing plans to promote oral health care excellence and advancing the profession of dentistry in South Carolina.

Dr. Gower is an active member of the American Dental Association, South Carolina Dental Association, American and SC Academies of General Dentistry, Coastal Carolina Dental Society, MUSC Dental Alumni Association, and is a Fellowship of the Academy of General Dentistry candidate.

In her free time, you can find her training for half marathons, off-shore fishing, and cheering on Gamecock sports. But her favorite time is spent with her husband, Emerson and their little girl, Lula.

A Texas native, Dr. Christopher Blanton grew up in Aiken, SC, with an older sister and younger brother. He attended Clemson University for his undergraduate education and received a Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from Indiana University School of Dentistry in Indianapolis. Following graduation, . In this residency, he provided emergency and comprehensive oral health care and received advanced training in dental implants, oral surgery, and IV conscious sedation. Through his work at the VA, Dr. Blanton realized that dentistry can in fact change your life story.

Dr. Blanton is committed to remaining current in the ever-evolving field of dentistry so that his patients can benefit from the latest technology, procedures, and materials available. He is an active member of the American Dental Association, South Carolina Dental Association and working towards Fellowship in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.

Nicole was raised in Savannah, GA, and relocated to the Bluffton area in 2003. She began her dental career in 2008 as a certified dental assistant at Palmetto Dental Arts. She pursued her dream by furthering her career at Savannah Technical College, becoming a registered dental hygienist. Nicole is a wonderful asset to our team, providing the best dental care for our patients dental needs and health.

Kristi is proud to say she is a Georgia native, originally from Columbus, GA. Since 2007 she has been in practice as a Registered Dental Hygienist and in 2017 she joined our team at Palmetto Dental Arts. She is honored to have the opportunity to work in such an outstanding practice that provides quality service to each and every patient. It is her goal to make sure our patients receive the best care possible, while also educating them on the importance of oral and systemic health.

LaDonna is originally from Tchula, Mississippi, and moved to Savannah, GA, in 1995 where she started her dental career in 2006 as a dental assistant. In 2012, she went on to further her education at Savannah Technical College, where she received her training in dental hygiene. Shortly after, she met her husband, Steven, and now have two beautiful children, J and Jada.

Camisha was born in Berlin, Germany then was relocated and raised in Savannah, Ga. Since a young age, she has always loved going to the dentist! She pursued her dream at Savannah Technical College to become a Registered Dental Hygienist, graduating in June 2020. Even though shes new to the dental world, she is a wonderful asset to our team by providing excellent care with a personalized touch to each visit.

Alyssa is a Registered Dental Hygienist originally from Warned Robins, GA. She has been working in dentistry since 2007 and moved to Bluffton in 2008. She obtained her degree from Middle Georgia Technical College and received her local infiltration license from MUSC of Charleston.

When she is not working she enjoys spending time on her boat with her husband, Tony and their two children, Easton and Everly. She loves Bluffton and all the festivals and events this small town has to offer.

Tashae is a registered dental hygienist. Originally from Aiken, SC, she graduated from Aiken High School in 2005, then attended Aiken Technical College, where she earned her diploma in Expanded Duties Dental Assisting in 2008. In 2010, she transferred to the University of South Carolina- Aiken, and completed her B.S. in Biology at the Columbia campus in 2014. Dental assisting was an amazing and rewarding position, but Tashae wanted to further her education and dive deeper into the world of dentistry. In 2017, she graduated with a B.S. in Dental Hygiene from the University of Augusta (thrice renamed Medical College of Georgia). Tashae is looking forward to helping promote confidence, self-esteem, and happiness one smile at a time.
