Dr. Al Primavera chose the field of dentistry for one reason and one reason alone, to be able provide the highest quality of patient centric care. He strives to make every patient who walks through the door to feel as if they are an extended part of his family, and thats just how he sees them. He understands that the dentist is not on everyones top 5 list of places to visit; but his kind, caring, and thorough bedside manner will soothe the nerves of even the most anxious patients!
Dr. Primavera was born in New York to two amazing parents, and at the age of 8 years old his family relocated to sunny Naples, Florida. He spent most of his childhood and early adulthood growing up in the sunshine state, spending his free time fishing, golfing, and traveling. It is also where he completed his undergraduate studies, at Florida Gulf Coast University, receiving a B.A. in Biology and finishing at the top 2% of his graduating class.
After years of preparation, hard work, and determination Dr. Primavera was accepted to the University of Kentucky college of dentistry. The University of Kentucky is repeatedly ranked one of the top dental schools in the nation, due to their implementation of ever changing technology and strong research programs.
The University of Kentucky also provided a path for Dr. Primavera to not only receive a full rounded and holistic education in the field of dental medicine, but also provided him the type of educational experience that can not be found at many other dental schools.
He was given the opportunity to work side by side on complex cases with teams of oral surgeons and periodontists. A few patient cases Dr. Primavera worked on with the speciality teams were some of the first to be completed by a dental student in the history of the university. He was able to to expand his knowledge base and interest in these specialty fields due to the opportunity that was awarded to him.
Upon graduation, Dr. Primavera and his soon to be expecting wife Katie decided they both wanted a change in location. After much research they decided on the Charlotte metro area due to its central location, great quality of life, and for all of its local offerings. He became a true half-back.
Dr. Primavera and his wife fell in love with the Charlotte/Indian Land area after multiple visits and decided to make it their new home. They decided after much thought they wanted to bring a modern, locally owned, high tech, and inviting dental office to the area. So with lots of planning, blood, sweat, and tears they opened Palmetto Advanced Dentistry.
He believes continuing education is the key to success and only way to provide the highest quality of care for his patients. Dr. P goes above and beyond each year to continue learning, advancing, and providing the best tech, materials, and procedures.
Our office is here for the local community and Im sure you will see us around town! So dont be shy stop and say hi! Being local means we also live in the Indian Land community, so if you have a true dental Emergency after hours Dr. Primavera can be at the office within a matter of minutes
In his free time you can find Dr. Primavera spending time with his wife Katie, daughter Kailey, and two dogs ( Luna the husky and Milo the Yorkie). He also enjoys to fish, golf, travel to the mountains/beach, cook, and read.

As a dental professional, I stay up to date on the latest advancements in dentistry in order to provide the most current treatment options for my patients. As a doctor, I recognize that my patients are unique individuals who have placed a great deal of trust in me and my team. That is just one reason why I value each and every patient relationship.

I have always been afraid of going to the dentist until now. Dr. Primavera and his staff have calmed my fears. I was given multiple options without pressure to choose the most expensive. Dr. P is very kind, caring and non-judgmental. He even met me in his office on a day when they were closed to re-cement a temporary crown. I have a lot of work to get done, but I am confident that the end result will be great. I feel like I have made a new friend and actually look forward to going to the dentist now, especially since I have found the best!

Dr. Primavera and his staff are the best you'll find around!!! They walk you through everything before they start any dental work, and make sure you leave fully understanding what's next. This is the first time I'm actually looking forward to my next cleaning.

Dr. Primavera is very personable and thorough, and clearly explains all treatment options and procedures, and patiently answers all questions! The entire staff is super friendly and knowledgeable, and always provides estimate of what insurance may cover/patient out of pocket costs, which is so helpful. Highly, highly recommend!

Dr. Primavera and his associates Liz and Mary are all extremely personal and professional. Visited office regarding implants. Arrived with many questions and some anxiety. They were extremely good listeners and genuinely passionate in answering my questions and also with providing sensible options. Would recommend without reservation.

They are the best!! I had a really terrible experience at a different dentist in Fort Mill (believe it or not they even caught my hair on fire), and it was such a relief to find Palmetto Advanced Dentistry. You will not regret coming here!
