Have you recently lost a tooth and are in need of a dental bridge? Dentists recommend getting a tooth extracted due to causes like cavities, severe external trauma, root canal infection, etc. In such instances, it is crucial you get the extracted tooth restored with a prosthetic at the earliest to save yourself from a whole lot of embarrassment and the drawbacks that could follow. If youre looking for a simple and quick fix for this situation, we would suggest dental bridges.
As the name suggests, bridges are prosthetic teeth made from dental-grade ceramic material and used to bridge the gap left by a missing tooth. Most patients may have the assumption that replacing a missing tooth would be complicated and would require several visits to the dentists practice. But, bridges would prove you wrong, as they are the simplest means to replace a tooth. They are customized to match the exact appearance of your adjoining natural teeth and offer excellent features that are sure to impress you.
Dental bridges are custom-fabricated according to the contour, color, and texture of the natural teeth. This helps to keep them under disguise and allows you to smile with confidence. Bridges are highly durable. You can bite and chew food like you always do without feeling conscious of the teeth enduring wear or damage. However, it is advisable to keep the consumption of hard foods to a minimum to ensure their longevity. Bonding a bridge in place of the missing tooth would keep the adjoining teeth from drifting from their ideal orthodontic positions. It prevents the onset of malocclusion and promotes better jawbone health. Bridges do not require oral surgery to be bonded. In most instances, a bridge would require no more than two to three visits to the dentists practice to be completed. Bridges are stain-resistant as they have an extremely smooth surface finish, and the material doesnt retain the coloring particles. Since the bridge is held firmly in position by crowns on either side, it would stay quite stable.
When you visit us for the initial diagnosis, we will thoroughly examine the factors that could affect your candidacy. Your overall health, condition of the gums and adjoining teeth, spacing available for the placement, etc., will be looked into closely. X-rays and highly precise digital scans of the teeth will be taken to serve as a reference for fabricating the bridge. The data will be sent to a dental laboratory, where the restoration will be fabricated. Meanwhile, a temporary bridge will be placed to protect the prepared tooth surfaces.
