Orthodontics was a truly life-changing experience for me. When I was a teen, I hated to smile because my teeth stuck out and were crooked. After my orthodontic treatment, my confidence grew as I was less inhibited to talk with people and smile freely. I feel that the entire course of my life was changed by orthodontic treatment.

I want to pass that forward to every person who is unhappy with the appearance of their smile. I get so much satisfaction when a patient or parent expresses how happy they are with their progress or finished result. I know I am making a difference in my patients lives.

I genuinely love orthodontics and going to work every day. I feel that orthodontics contributes to self-confidence, and I am honored to participate in the physical and emotional development of my young patients on a daily basis. I want to have a positive impact on the lives of every person who walks into my office.

I attended the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine for my Doctorate of Dental Medicine, and completedmy general practice residency at the Naval Medical Center of San Diego. I practiced dentistry in the U.S.Navy for seven years before going back to school for orthodontics.

In 2005, I graduated from West Virginia University School of Dentistry with my Master of Science and certificatein orthodontics. I continued practicing orthodontics in the Navy until 2008, when I opened my private practice here in Frostburg.

Continuing education is an important aspect of my career, sinceit is required to maintain my license. However, I take several times the required amount of CE to stay at the very top of my game whenit comes to new studies, techniques, and appliances that are available for orthodontics. I attend courses and lectures several times a year, and even lecture to our local dental society about orthodontic treatment.

I am originally from Uniontown, PA, and have lived in Frostburg since 2008. As a married mother of fiveand a business owner, I am constantly on the go, but I love to find time to cook, read, exercise, spend time at the pool and vacationwith my family.

While my family and my practice take up the majority of my time, I alsomake timeto serve my community whenever possible. I have volunteered several times with the Mission of Mercy free dental clinics. I sponsor many local sports teams and community activities/events.

Nothing makes me more happy then seeing someone smile and knowing I have been a part of that is a wonderful feeling. I am blessed to have such a great opportunity to change peoples appearances. Having gone through treatment myself, I can relate on a personal level. I love working with Children and getting to know them and watching them grow. I truely enjoy working with such an amazing group of ladies, who are like family.

The thing I enjoy most is when patients first start to notice changes in their smiles and are happy with the results they achieve. I love the team that I work with as well. Some of us have been friends for many years, so its more like working with family.

What I love most is being able to witness the happiness from patients as the notice their progress. I love seeing their beautiful smiles. I also love being part of such a great team that treat you like family.

The most enjoyable part of my job is seeing the end result. I love seeing the patients reaction when they finally love their smile, it's very rewarding. I was Dr. Palaisa's patientbefore I started working in the office. I was very fascinated by how orthodontics works and proceeded to study and start my career working with a bunch of wonderful people.

For most people, achieving a healthy, beautiful smile is the reason for receiving orthodontic care. If you're self-conscious about your smile, correcting your concerns with braces will greatly improve the way you look and feel.

When your treatment is complete, you will have the smile you've always dreamed of and the confidence to show it off! We also want you to feel comfortable and confident throughout your entire orthodontic experience, and our practice is dedicated to making sure that you receive the quality care you deserve.

Orthodontic appliances are made of metal, ceramic, or plastic. They may be removable or they may be brackets bonded to the teeth. By placing a constant, gentle force in a carefully controlled direction, braces slowly move teeth to the proper position.

Gone are the days when a metal band with a bracket was placed around each tooth. You can now choose clear or metal brackets and, in some cases, the color of your appliance. Wires are far less noticeable, and the latest materials are designed to move teeth faster with more comfort. Today, any age is a great age to wear braces!

Treatment time varies and can last between one and three years, depending on several factors including age, treatment method, and how minor or severe your case is. A big factor in a successful treatment is you! The more involved and diligent you are, the more efficient your treatment will be. For children, receiving interceptive or early treatment can also help provide a quicker treatment time.
