Some orthodontic appliances, like braces, can cause temporary gum inflammation (usually reversible once the braces are removed). With Invisalign, there's decreased risk of lost braces, broken wires, allergies to metal or cuts and abrasions that can happen inside the mouth.
As each set of new aligners are worn for a two week period some may have a tendency to get 'cloudy' looking after the first week. In order to reduce this you can order a 15 minute Invisalign cleaning system of crystals that restores their clear appearance.
Invisalign needs are based on a case by case basis of which some people fall into the Invisalign Express category. As the name suggests, these are patients whose needs are minor and less demanding than a typical Invisalign case and therefore the effort and Invisalign cost are reduced.
Dr. Paglia is an active member of the American Association of Cosmetic Dentists, Massachusetts Dental Society, Worcester Dental Society and American Dental Association. She was proud to be recognized by her peers with the Ten Under Ten award in 2009 which recognizes dentists who have made a significant contribution to organized dentistry and their communities. In addition to providing quality dental care to her patients, Dr. Paglia has placed a great emphasis on community work. She serves as president of the Board of Directors for Operation Healthy Smiles, a local non-profit organization. In addition she has traveled world-wide working with Global Humanitarian Organization providing dental treatment to children and their families who otherwise would not have access to care.
Dr. Robert Paglia has been a lifetime resident of Marlborough, MA. Dr. Paglia graduated from St. Bonaventure University in 1965 with a B.S. in biology. He followed in his father's footsteps and attended Tufts University School of Dental Medicine where he graduated in 1970. He was a member of the Delta Sigma Delta dental fraternity.
Dr. Robert has been in private practice for 40 years. He was fortunate to work with his father for 20 years before his father retired and now is proud to welcome his daughter, Dr. Rebecca into the practice. Dr. Robert has served as an instructor for the Assabet Valley Dental Assist program. He has served on many panels related to restorative and practice management throughout the years. Dr. Robert has been very active in his community. He has been a member of the Mass. Dental Society, Worcester Dental Society and American Dental Association. He has been recognized as a top leader in this community for dental care by the Metrowest Reader's Choice awards and has won top honors in the town of Marlborough and the region for the past ten consecutive years. Dr. Robert has been active in the community, especially the school system where he has volunteered his time with sealant programs and in the elderly community doing oral health care screenings. Dr. Robert has been happily married to his wife, Nancy, for 41 years and has three children.
