Dr. Phil Kamins, also known to his patients as the original Dr. Phil, has provided comprehensive dental care to the Pacific Palisades community for almost 30 years. He has extensive experience in the treatment of children and adults, with an emphasis on preventing dental disease.
Prior to opening his office in Pacific Palisades, Dr. Kamins practiced dentistry in Eilat, Israel for two-and-a-half years. He founded a dental clinic there sponsored by Kupat Cholim Maccabee, providing the residents an option for state-of-the-art dental care, which continues to this day.
Dr. Kamins knows that every patient who comes into the office has a certain level of what he calls, dental awarenessthat is, information about dentistry in general and knowledge about what is happening specifically in the patients own mouth. Dr. Kamins goal is to raise that level of awareness by demystifying dentistry to make the information more accessible for his patients. Through this process, the patient becomes a partner in the improvement of his or her own oral health, and by extension, the patients health in general. Maintaining healthy tissue is central to Dr. Kamins treatment philosophy, and he utilizes minimally invasive techniques every day to achieve this goal. Dr. Kamins believes in individualized care and examining the treatment options available to each patient prior to commencing treatment.

We are very pleased to welcome back Emil Tanavar and announce his new position as a Registered Dental Assistant in Expanded Functions (RDAEF II). On completion and certification of his training, he now has expanded his skills and is able to help with restorative treatment in our office.

I don't know where to start from ! I called to get an appointment for a Saturday and the front lady was very nice and helpful. We came in on a Saturday from the front to the back stuff everybody was amazing.The lady who cleaned my daughters teeth was soooo nice and patient and loving thank u ! Now for Dr. Lowen! the worlds most sweetest ,loving , gentle,caring,honest should i keep on going ? Dr. on this planet!!!!! O yeah and patient ! she took the time to listen to our concerns and even help my daughter floss her teeth thank you for everything Dr.Lowen

Had my wife see Dr Kamins for emergency dental pain and he took X-rays and discussed in detail what was needed. She liked him and the office staff so much, she said "I want to come here from now on". And there we go...she had a teeth cleaning and was so impressed she is insisting I go too.

My 6 year old daughter has been going to Dr. Loewen for almost 3 years and needed a lot of restorative work. Dr. Loewen is amazing! Gentle and thorough. My little one always looks forward to her dental visits. We love all the staff too!

Max had a great first visit. We were greeted promptly and all Covid safety measures seemed to be in place. Dr Loewen was very friendly and took the time to explain everything to Max. I also like that they have movies playing for the kids chairs.

This is a top notch dental team. I wanted a shot of Demerol before my teeth cleaning but forgot to ask. Dr. Kamins is a cool cat. Too bad everyone dresses like they have second jobs in the Wuhan lab. I have no complaints. A ribeye or pesto smoothie on the way out would have been nice.

Dr. Carrie Loewen is THE BEST children's dentist. She really cares for my son's dental health and always goes the extra mile. The same goes for her staff. I can't recommend them enough. My son had his flouride treatment and the hygenist went above and beyond in many ways. We look forward to the visits and they have the best prize box in town!

I have only seen Dr Kamins and his staff twice but each time has felt very different from any of the past dental experiences I've had. Being one who hasn't had a lot of "dental drama," I also knew that there had been changes in my teeth. I marvel at how gentle and kind everyone has been, including having two fillings done and not needing any gas or anesthesia!!! Can I get an "amen!"?! I highly recommend Dr Kamins and his incredible team. Also, Dr Kamins is always listening to good music and singing along.... and he cab sing!

The short and straight: Dr. Kamens and his office have been outstanding for years. In particular they have been honest! I've never had a treatment I didn't need, in fact over the last 10 years or more I've needed very little dentistry other than cleanings and X-rays. Every other year maybe a small filling, but I know of friends who actually had dentists who created fillings and other problems to fix.. just for profit! Much like a trusted mechanic having a dentist you trust is really, truly invaluable. I'll also add that the office is spotless and during the pandemic Dr. K and his staff have had things extremely safe, hats off to them for that as well.

I couldn't be more pleased! Dr. Kamins is wonderful -- gentle, thorough, caring, easy to talk to. Hygienist Terry has done an excellent job of cleaning both times and really listens about sensitivities. Covid protocols are strictly followed. I didn't have any interaction with the rest of the staff except for the person who took my temperature upon arrival, and she was very nice. I highly recommend this practice.

I've been seeing Dr Kamins for years. He is relaxed and knowledgeable. He keeps current with his procedures and equipment. His staff is terrific with both younger and older patients. Everyone is pleasant and professional even during these times of COVID.
