We are a family dental practice located in Santa Barbara committed to promoting exceptional dental health and creating healthy, beautiful smiles. Drs. Pacheco and Medina founded their first dental office in Santa Barbara in 1998 after having practiced in the San Gabriel Valley for five years. In 2010, the office was relocated to its current location to provide a more comfortable and spacious environment and better accommodate the needs of our patients
Our goal is to provide a high standard of care for our patients and cooperate with them to not only meet, but also exceed their expectations. We are proud of the diverse nature of our patients and strive to create individualized treatment plans that fit their unique needs while working with them using the highest level of professionalism and courtesy. As a family-oriented practice, we take pride in providing dental services for patients of all ages and aim to create many long-lasting relationships with our clients. Our practice has established mutual affiliations with several local colleagues and specialists, with whom we cooperate to ensure the most complete dental care for our patients
We train our professional staff to help patients feel relaxed and confident while in our office. Most of our staff are bilingual, and all are committed to assisting all patients in achieving the best dental health
Dr. Pacheco graduated from the School of Dentistry at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) in 1975. He received his Masters Degree in Morphology in 1977 from the School of Medicine at the National Polytechnic Institute. He served as the dean of the Oral Pathology department at the School of Dentistry of the National School of Professional Studies for five years starting in 1980 and earned his DDS degree from the State Board Examination at Loma Linda University in 1990. Dr. Pacheco completed a program in cosmetic dentistry at the UCLA Dental School in 1996 and an endodontics program in 1998.
Dr. Medina graduated from the School of Dentistry at the National School of Professional Studies in Mexico in 1980. She then received her Masters Degree in Oral Pathology from the Postgraduate Division at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) in 1985.
She served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Oral Pathology at the National School of Professional Studies in Mexico City from 1982 to 1985. In the US, she received her DDS degree in California from the State Board examination at Loma Linda University in 1991. Dr. Medina limits her practice to children (infants to preteens) and focuses on educating patients about preventive care.
Dr. Pacheco and Dr. Medina were married in July of 1991 and they began their first dental practice in San Gabriel, California in 1993. They have been serving the Santa Barbara community since 1998. Dr. Pacheco and Dr. Medina have two children: Alan, born in 1992, and Sarah, born in 1996.

Very inconsiderate of people's time. My wife had an appointment with Dr. Medina on Monday after arriving at the office Dr. Medina told her that the appointment had been cancelled since you don't have insurance (she was planning to pay out of pocket) and that you need to call on Tuesday to re-schedule another appointment. When spoke with the receptionist, April, she totally made it my wife's fault not to find out that her appointment was canceled (supposedly on Saturday two days before) although she had checked in online the Friday before. Very unprofessional would not go there again.

Both Dr. Pacheco and Dr. Medina were very professional and welcoming during my dental visit. Before even walking into the waiting room a dental assistant took my temperature and asked me to rinse my mouth and wash my hands before entering the waiting room. This made me feel that the dental office staff took our well-being very serious during this pandemic. With all the cleanliness and protective gear that Dr. Pacheco and his assistant wore, made me feel very safe and comfortable. I really appreciate that extra step they took to protect everyone in their office.

The don't seem concerned with other peoples time, they had us plan for an appointment and had us accept on line confirmation and did not have the courtesy to call us to let us know we did not have an appointment. Big waste of time and I do not recommend them

I needed to see a dentist asap as I had a massive toothache...during this pandemic. Dr. Pacheco and team were able to get me in immediately, for which I was very appreciative. They took care of me as best they could then referred me to a specialist as my issue was more than just a toothache/cavity. I appreciate their professionalism and attention to detail especially during this pandemic. I plan on becoming a regular patient from now on. Thank you Dr. Pacheco, Dr. Medina and team.
