He received a bachelor of science degree in Biology and minor in Philosophy at Loyola University Chicago. Following his tenure as a Rambler, he received the title of a doctor of dental surgery and graduated from the the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) College of Dentistry in 2000.
Shortly after, Dr. Pacana was invited to extend his training as an Oral Surgery Extern. After several years as a practicing associate, he moved to Algonquin, Illinois, and established his Pacana Family Dental in 2005.
Licensed dentists are required to meet a minimum number of continuing education courses each year, and Dr. Pacana takes great pride in being able to partake in several classes to help him become a more well-rounded dentist in order to enhance treatment. He is also a proud member of the American Dental Association, Illinois State Dental Society, Chicago Dental Society, and McHenry County Dental Society.
Outside of his dental practice, Dr. Pacana enjoys spending time with his family. He has two sons that keep him busy out of office hours, as they both play competitive hockey. Dr. Pacana also enjoys golfing and fishing. When he is not working hard on your teeth, he is out working hard on the ice as part of a mens league hockey team.

Honest , super friendly, doesn't over treat, open minded caring DDS and super friendly team- orientated staff . Beautiful quaint clean environment , centrally located in old part of Algonquin . Check them out !

I had a enjoyable journey with Dr. Mark and my most recent treatments I had done. I first started with Invisalign and then had my front tooth redone with a crown. The crown replaced a veneer that was old and over time my gum line receeded and looked unpleasant. If you want a dentist that strives for perfection with everything he does along with a great chairside manner, Dr. Mark is the one for you. I can say that as a long time patient of his, I had high expectations. With this most recent work, he far exceeded my already high expectations! Thank you Dr. Mark!

Absolute professional. Dr. Pacana walks you through the procedure while preforming, which brings comfort and knowledge. Kathy the office lady is very cool to work with and goes above and beyond to explain insurance coverages. I'm a patient for life.
